                    Nate left.
Before walking out, he only said one thing:
"I'm not agreeing to the divorce."
"When I figure this out, I'll come back for you."
I didn't think much of it.
Stayed in Australia and officially started my grad program.
Without work tying me down, I had a lot more time with Leo.
And little by little, he stopped holding on to the past.
Made new friends.
Began to really smile again.
I dated here and there. A couple guys.
But I never wanted anything serious.
Marriage just… wasn't on the table.
Nate started visiting Leo every now and then.
I figured he was trying to fix what was left of their relationship.
I asked Leo first, of course.
He was okay with it, so I didn't stand in the way.
He's still Nate's son, after all.
Maybe someday he'll inherit Nate's empire—who knows.
At one point, Nate must've had a guilty conscience.
He started sending money.
A lot of it.
Sometimes when he came to see Leo, he'd give me this look—
Full of regret.
I didn't entertain it.
I took the money, sure.
But I kept dating other people like it was nothing.
Nate was just a chapter I'd already finished.
Nothing more.
He didn't get to touch my peace anymore.
So yeah—
The sun does rise eventually.
Even on the darkest days.
Even if it's cloudy,
Morning still comes.
