When Olivia returned after finalizing her immigration papers, Stella was sitting alone in the living room.
She was holding the baby and drinking coffee, looking elegant and poised.
Seeing Olivia, she looked down at her with contempt, as if she were the real lady of the house.
"You're back?"
Stella called out to her and pushed a divorce agreement across the table.
"I won't beat around the bush. Since you've agreed to the divorce, sign it now."
Olivia sat down across from her. "Why the rush?"
"I knew it. You never intended to divorce Benjamin so easily. Tell me, what do you want?"
Her tone was arrogant, forgetting that everything Benjamin now owned came from Olivia.
When he'd decided to leave the military and start a business, it was Olivia who provided the money and support, helping him build from nothing to becoming a company CEO.
But the first person he betrayed after his success was the one who helped him get there.
"I don't want anything. You Ms. Wilson should remember that it's not Benjamin divorcing me—it's me divorcing him! "
Stella opened her mouth to respond, but Olivia had already signed the papers.
"I don't want this man anymore. If you like him, take him."
Olivia tossed the pen aside and stood up. As she did, Stella suddenly slapped her across the face.
"What are you so proud of? You're just an abandoned wife. Benjamin doesn't want you or your baby anymore! I'm the winner here, and you still dare to act superior to me?"
The slap nearly made Olivia's ears ring. She lost her balance and hit her stomach against the table corner.
That moment of pain filled her with panic.
Before she could retaliate, she saw Stella throw her baby to the floor.
"WAAAAH!"
The infant let out a heart-wrenching cry as Stella dramatically fell to the floor and scooped up the child.
"Olivia, how could you do this? My baby! My poor baby!"
"What happened?!"
Benjamin had just returned and rushed to Stella's side when he saw the scene.
"What's wrong with the baby?"
"Benjamin, I know Olivia blames me for your divorce! But the baby is innocent. Even if she doesn't want to divorce, she shouldn't take it out on an innocent child."
Stella sobbed into Benjamin's chest. "She threw the baby onto the floor from up high! She's been crying non-stop. I'm so scared, Benjamin! "
"How could you?!"
Benjamin glared at Olivia accusingly. He rushed out with the baby, not noticing the stream of blood slowly trickling down Olivia's thigh.
"Benjamin..."
Feeling the warm flow between her legs, Olivia panicked. She called out to Benjamin, but he had already driven away.
In the empty house, only her sobbing could be heard.
The helplessness in that moment left her desperate.
She called for an ambulance. By the time the paramedics arrived, she had collapsed on the floor.
When she woke up, her first instinct was to touch her belly.
Though she no longer loved Benjamin, she still loved the baby inside her.
"Don't worry, Mrs. Monroe. Your baby is fine, but you need to be careful not to let your stomach get hit again. The fetal signs are unstable—you could miscarry at any time."
The doctor reassured her: "By the way, where's Mr. Monroe? Why didn't he come? Should I call him for you?"
"No need. We're divorced."
After Olivia's reply, the doctor's mouth opened slightly. "Well then, rest for a bit. You can be discharged if there are no problems."
Just down the hall from her room, Olivia spotted Benjamin and Stella.
