After Olivia left, Benjamin stood frozen in place.
Stella tugged at his arm. "Benjamin, let's go get our marriage certificate. If we don't go in soon, they'll close for the day."
"Yeah, Benjamin, forget about Olivia. She's easy to pacify."
"Hurry up and get married! Then treat us to dinner!"
His friends pushed the couple into the marriage bureau, and they successfully obtained their marriage certificate.
But for some reason, as Benjamin looked at the certificate in his hand, Olivia's face kept appearing in his mind.
Three years ago, he had come to this same place with Olivia, his heart filled with excitement.
He had sworn he would never let her down.
But now, his feelings were complicated.
Stella noticed his strange mood and spoke plaintively: "What's wrong, Benjamin? Aren't you happy? Or are you worried about Olivia? If you're concerned, go comfort her first. I'll be fine."
But Benjamin was in no mood to console her now. "Since we're married, let's hurry and register the baby."
Stella froze, suddenly realizing the truth.
Benjamin had really married her just to give the baby legal status.
He still cared deeply about Olivia and even wanted to remarry her.
But now that she was Mrs. Monroe, she wouldn't give up her position so easily.
"Okay, I understand," she nodded, saying nothing more.
When they returned home, Benjamin noticed the house, once filled with ceramic decorations, was now empty.
Many things were missing, including those ceramics that Olivia had loved so much.
Their relationship had started because of ceramics.
He had met her in a pottery class, and it was love at first sight. They got together quickly after that.
Later, whenever they traveled somewhere, they would buy a ceramic piece as a memento.
But now, all those ceramics were gone.
"Liv? Olivia?"
Benjamin panicked and rushed upstairs to find her.
He pushed open the door to find the bedroom completely empty—no sign of her, not even her luggage.
"Where's Liv? Where did she go?"
Benjamin's legs trembled uncontrollably. Stella quickly tried to comfort him. "Maybe she just moved out because she's upset? Don't worry, Benjamin. She'll probably be back tomorrow."
"Right, she loves me too much to leave me! She's just throwing a little tantrum. She'll be back soon."
He collapsed onto the bed, trying to reassure himself.
Before he could calm down, his phone rang again.
He excitedly picked it up: "Liv—"
"Mr. Monroe, you need to come to the company immediately! Several clients suddenly showed up saying they want to withdraw their investments and stop cooperating with us!"
"What? I'll be right there!"
Hanging up, Benjamin rushed to the company without delay.
When he reached the conference room, several investors were already seated.
"Mr. Hunter, Mr. Lewis, we've always had a good working relationship. Why this sudden decision to withdraw your investments?"
"A good relationship? I would never normally work with a small company like yours. I only agreed to invest because of Miss Gray's connections!"
"Same here. To be honest, we partnered with you only to establish ties with Miss Gray. Now that she's divorced you, there's no reason for us to continue investing."
Hearing their words, Benjamin was stunned.
So these big clients had only invested in his company because of Olivia's influence.
Making one last attempt to salvage the situation, he said, "Mr. Hunter, Mr. Lewis, my divorce from Olivia is just temporary. I'll remarry her, I promise."
"Remarry?" They glanced at him. "I heard Miss Gray has already withdrawn her shares. Why would she remarry you?"
Benjamin's placating smile froze. Withdrawn shares? What withdrawal? How did he not know about this?
The two men had barely left when Olivia's lawyer arrived.
"Mr. Monroe, I'm the attorney representing Miss Gray. Here's a share withdrawal agreement for your review. Please sign it if everything is in order."
"Attorney?" Benjamin stared at the serious-faced man before him, unable to utter another word.
Only now did he realize that Olivia wasn't playing around.
She was genuinely angry.
