In the past, no matter how upset Olivia got, she never went this far.
But this time, she was withdrawing her investment, knowing full well how important the company was to him.
In the years since leaving the military, he had poured his heart and soul into this company.
Though they hadn't made a fortune, the company's development and operations had been decent.
The company was facing some issues recently, and at this critical moment, how could she withdraw her shares?
"What's going on? When did Olivia come to withdraw her shares? Why wasn't I informed?"
The secretary stood nervously to the side. "Mr. Monroe, don't you remember? When Mrs. Monroe came to the company and said she was leaving, I called you. You said you were already divorced and told me not to tell you about her affairs anymore, so—"
"That's impossible!"
Benjamin cut her off, still unable to believe Olivia would be so resolute this time.
"She loves me too much. She wouldn't do this to me."
He took out his phone and called Olivia.
But no matter how many times he called, there was no answer.
"How can this be? Why isn't anyone answering?"
Benjamin panicked. Olivia had always been easy to appease.
Whenever they had a disagreement, all he needed to do was buy her a bouquet of flowers, get her favorite cake, make a phone call, and offer a few sweet words to win her back.
This was the first time she hadn't answered his calls.
Not giving up, Benjamin grabbed his secretary's phone and tried calling Olivia again, but still no answer.
"Mr. Monroe, please sign quickly. I have other matters to—"
Before the lawyer could finish, Benjamin frantically grabbed him by the collar.
"Your phone! Give me your phone! She'll definitely answer your call, definitely!"
"Mr. Monroe, please calm down."
The lawyer had barely spoken when Benjamin snatched his phone.
But the result was the same—no answer.
"You must have another way to contact her, right? I'll pay you! How much do you want? $100,000? $500,000? $1 million? Whatever you want, I'll give it to you if you can help me reach her!"
In this instant, Benjamin's composure shattered, leaving him utterly.
The secretary, seeing him like this for the first time, quickly tried to reason with him: "Mr. Monroe, since you already divorced Mrs. Monroe, you should have expected her to withdraw her shares."
"I couldn't have expected this! How could I?" Benjamin roared.
"I told her it was just a fake divorce! Once I got Stella's baby registered, I'd remarry her! She agreed to that! We've been together for seven years! She's carrying my child—how could she actually divorce me and withdraw her shares? I don't believe it! I don't!"
"But from what I saw, Mrs. Monroe seemed serious. Mr. Monroe, could it be that she really intends to divorce you? Maybe you should find her and talk things through? Without Mrs. Monroe, our company won't last much longer."
Hearing the secretary's words, Benjamin collapsed into a chair.
He knew he needed to find Olivia quickly, but the ridiculous part was he had no idea where to look.
Suddenly, commotion erupted outside, and someone shouted, "Mrs. Monroe is here! She brought desserts for everyone! Come quick!"
Thinking it was Olivia, Benjamin sprang from his chair and raced out of the conference room.
"Liv—"
But the person he saw was Stella.
She stood among the employees, handing out cup cakes and candy.
"Hi everyone, I'm Benjamin's wife, Stella Wilson. You can call me Mrs. Monroe. We just got our marriage certificate, and I wanted to bring some desserts to share the joy with you all."
"Mrs. Monroe, you're so kind to personally bring treats for us employees!"
"Kind? Wasn't Miss Gray just as kind to us? Have you all forgotten?"
As some employees stood up for Olivia, Stella glanced at the speaker with an unpleasant expression, but still smiled: "I know Miss Gray was good to you all. Don't worry, I'll be even better."
Seeing it was Stella, not Olivia, Benjamin lowered his head in disappointment.
Stella spotted him and excitedly ran over to hug him.
"Benjamin, you look tired! I came to visit and brought you a homemade lunch!"
She pulled Benjamin into his office, but looking at the lunch, he had no appetite.
"By the way, that girl who talked back to me just now—fire her," Stella suddenly said.
Benjamin looked confused. "Why? She's very capable and has been with the company for years."
"I don't like her. I want you to fire her now!"
She pretended to be hurt. "I'm your wife now, but she didn't show me any respect and even mentioned Olivia in front of me. Benjamin, you know I hate being looked down on. If you don't fire her, I'll be too embarrassed to show my face here again."
She clung to Benjamin's arm, whining and crying for quite a while.
Looking at the woman before him, Benjamin felt a surge of regret.
Why had he fake-divorced Olivia for a woman like this?
He regretted it deeply, but regret was useless now.
"Fine, do whatever you want."
After Benjamin spoke, Stella planted a kiss on his cheek.
In the past, her kisses had excited him.
But now he felt nothing, his mind filled only with Olivia's face.
He was truly afraid—afraid that Olivia wouldn't want him anymore, afraid she wouldn't remarry him.
