The house was a complete disaster—dishes piled up in the sink unwashed for days, dirty clothes scattered across the sofa and carpet, and the garbage overflowing with flies buzzing around.
Seeing this mess, Benjamin nearly exploded with anger.
Whenever he had visited Stella's rented apartment before, everything had always been immaculately clean and tidy.
How had she become such a slob since moving in with him?
What he didn't know was that Stella had always hired cleaning services before his visits to maintain her image as a perfect housewife. Now that she no longer cared to keep up appearances, she had let everything fall apart.
"Mr. Monroe, you're back?" The nanny came downstairs with the baby and immediately started complaining.
"Could you please find Mrs. Monroe? The baby hasn't seen her for days. I've been taking care of her non-stop without any breaks, and I'm completely exhausted! Plus, she hasn't paid my salary."
"Are you saying she hasn't been home for days? She hasn't been taking care of the baby at all?"
"That's right. Even when she does come home, she just changes clothes and leaves. When I try to talk to her, she says she's busy and will deal with everything when she gets back. The last time she was here was three days ago."
"This is outrageous."
Furious, Benjamin grabbed his phone and called Stella. After several rings, someone picked up.
"Hello?"
"Who's this?"
Stella's slurred voice came through the speaker.
Benjamin frowned. "Stella, what are you doing? Aren't you going to take care of your child?"
"What child? Don't bother me."
With that, Stella hung up.
Staring at the darkening screen, Benjamin could hardly believe what he'd just heard.
The background was noisy with heavy metal music—clearly she was at a bar.
Why would Stella be at a bar? She had always claimed she never went to such places.
Furious, he called again, but no one answered.
Spotting a bar business card on the sofa, he frowned, got in his car, and headed straight there.
The heavy metal music blared inside the bar. Benjamin scanned the crowd but couldn't see Stella anywhere.
He grabbed a bartender and asked, "Have you seen a woman? Blonde curly hair, tall and slim, with big—"
"You mean Queen Stella?" the bartender interrupted before he could finish.
Benjamin froze. "Queen Stella?"
"Yeah, our star bunny girl. Unfortunately, she found some sucker to marry her and left the scene. But now they're having problems, so she's back. Are you one of her regular clients? She's in the VIP room upstairs."
"Star bunny girl?"
Benjamin headed toward the stairs, step by step.
The bartender must have been mistaken. Stella always appeared so elegant and refined, the perfect image of a proper lady. How could she possibly be a "bunny girl"?
Though she was certainly beautiful with a great figure, she couldn't possibly be involved in that kind of work.
Jake was such an innocent guy—he couldn't have met Stella in a place like this.
Benjamin shook his head, forcing himself to stay calm.
"It's impossible. It can't be Stella."
But when he pushed open the VIP room door, he was shocked by what he saw.
Stella was sitting on a fat man's lap, arms around his neck, gulping down alcohol.
Liquor dripped down her delicate chin, and the man greedily kissed it away. Stella didn't seem to mind—in fact, she giggled in his arms.
Seeing this, Benjamin's hand trembled on the doorknob.
He remembered when he first met Stella—how she'd shyly curled up in Jake's arms when someone offered her a drink, claiming she couldn't handle alcohol and would get drunk immediately.
But now her uninhibited behavior showed no sign of someone who couldn't drink.
Only now did Benjamin realize he'd been deceived. From the very beginning, Stella had been lying to him—and perhaps she had fooled Jake too.
"Stella, you really can hold your liquor! I can't believe you're even more captivating than before! Especially that perfume you're wearing—it's absolutely intoxicating!"
"Naughty boy! You promised to buy me a diamond necklace—when are you going to get it for me?" Stella cooed, arms around the man's neck, behaving like a seasoned escort.
"If you make me happy tonight, I'll not only buy you a diamond necklace—I might even marry you!"
"Really? You're so good to me!" Stella laughed and kissed the fat man. "I've always admired men like you!"
"Is that so? I heard you married some pretty boy recently. What's wrong? Can't he satisfy you? Is it his wallet that's too thin, or is he not man enough in bed?"
"You're so bad!" Stella continued flirting. "Don't mention that parasite. I thought he was capable like you, baby, but turns out he only achieved success by leeching off a woman! If I'd known he was so useless, I never would have married him! Such a waste of my time!"
Hearing these words, Benjamin's face turned white, rage ready to explode from his eyes.
He could hardly believe this woman was the Stella he knew.
She had become terrifyingly different, completely unrecognizable.
And for a woman like this, he had given up Olivia who had loved him so deeply.
Stupid! He had been so incredibly stupid!
"Don't you have a child with him?"
"What child? Oh, that one! Baby, I don't even know whose kid it is! I just happened to get pregnant, and he was willing to take responsibility, so I kept it. If you don't like children, I can get rid of it anytime!"
"You little minx!"
As they started making out passionately, Benjamin could no longer contain himself. He charged in and yanked Stella off the man's lap.
"What did you say? The baby isn't Jake's?"
"Benjamin? Why are you here?!"
