In the bedroom, Olivia looked weakly at the tiny person beside her.
"He's so ugly!" she couldn't help but comment.
Her mother laughed. "Silly girl, all newborns look like this—all wrinkly! When you were born, you were even uglier than him!"
"I don't believe that. I was clearly beautiful," Olivia pouted.
But looking at the child she had carried for ten months, a corner of her heart gradually softened.
"Baby, I'm your mommy. Say 'Mommy'!"
For some reason, after saying these words, Benjamin's face flashed in her mind.
She remembered that day when he held Stella's baby, asking the child to call him Daddy.
Now their child was born, but would never see his father.
Her eyes gradually reddened as Olivia felt she was letting her baby down by not giving him a complete family from birth.
"Silly girl, even if the child doesn't have a father, he has a mother who loves him dearly, and grandparents too. Don't worry—we'll give him the best of everything in the world! He will be the heir to the Gray Group. Everything in our family will be his."
After her father finished speaking, Olivia smiled. "Dad, then you should give him a name."
"With the surname Gray?"
Olivia nodded firmly. "Yes, surname Gray."
"Then let's call him Theodore Gray? Hoping he'll have great ambitions and ideals in the future!"
"I like it, Dad."
Olivia looked down at the child in her arms, gently teasing him: "Theodore Gray? Your name is Theodore Gray. Mommy loves you."
Benjamin stood outside the window watching this scene, his heart twisting in pain as if a knife were turning inside him.
That was clearly his child, who should have carried the Monroe surname.
Leaning against the wall, looking at the blue sky and white clouds above, he felt deep regret.
If he hadn't been seduced by Stella back then, he would surely have had a happy family.
But now, he had lost everything.
Mr. and Mrs. Gray stayed on the island one month before leaving—Mr. Gray had business to attend to and couldn't stay longer.
Olivia wanted to remain on the island a while longer, so she didn't leave with them.
Before departing, her father said, "After staying here for a month, my biggest impression is that your kitchen chef makes excellent food—it tastes like our hometown cooking. If you come home, bring the chef with you."
Her mother added, "Yes, and he's so thoughtful too. I noticed all your postpartum meals were prepared by him, and they were done very well—perfectly balanced nutrition."
Their comments made Olivia realize something. Since the new chef had arrived on the island, her appetite had improved significantly.
She hadn't paid much attention before, only knowing that a new chef had been hired.
"Okay, I understand. Take care, Mom and Dad."
Now she wanted to meet this chef and properly thank him.
After returning to the villa and handing the baby to the housekeeper, Olivia asked to see the chef.
When Benjamin heard the housekeeper's message, the plate in his hand crashed to the floor.
"Are you okay?" the housekeeper asked with concern.
He shook his head repeatedly. "I'm fine."
In truth, he had been waiting for this day, but now that it had arrived, he felt both anxious and afraid.
He truly wanted to see Olivia and their child, and prayed daily that she would forgive him, accept him, and that they could be a family of three again.
But mostly, he felt worry and fear.
If Olivia wouldn't forgive him, he might never see her or their child again.
"Hurry up, Miss Gray is waiting for you," the housekeeper said before heading upstairs.
Benjamin nervously tidied himself up.
Looking at his increasingly weathered face in the mirror, no longer handsome as before, he felt a sense of inferiority.
He deeply felt that the current version of himself was no longer worthy of the current Olivia.
But he still wanted to make one last attempt to win her back.
So he took a deep breath, straightened his shoulders, and went upstairs.
As the door opened, Benjamin's heart was in his throat.
