"You're here?"
The woman standing by the window slowly turned around. When their eyes met, Olivia looked as if she'd seen a ghost.
"Benjamin! It's YOU?! You actually followed me all the way here like some kind of ghost?"
She stepped back several times. In her eyes, there was not a trace of love left.
"Forgive me, Liv. I just love you too much. I know you didn't abort our baby—you must still have feelings for me, right?"
He approached step by step, only to see panic suddenly rising in Olivia's eyes.
"Are you delusional? Wasn't I clear enough? I said I aborted your child because I didn't want you to keep bothering me! But I never expected you'd follow me all the way here. Benjamin, you're truly frightening—do you realize how terrifying you are to me?"
Hearing her words, Benjamin lowered his head, losing even the last bit of courage to try to win her back.
"I understand. I'll leave right away. I'm sorry. I won't disturb you and the baby ever again."
Just as Benjamin was about to leave, a housekeeper came running in frantically.
"Miss, the young master is missing!"
"WHAT?!" Olivia panicked. "Where did he go? I just handed him over to you!"
"Yes, a new nanny came. I just handed the baby to her and turned away for a second to prepare formula, and then they were both gone."
"What new nanny? I didn't hire any new nanny. We haven't had any new staff recently..."
"Stella."
Benjamin interrupted Olivia, a sense of dread washing over him.
That person was likely none other than Stella.
"Benjamin, what are you talking about? Stella what? Are you suggesting that Stella took my baby?"
Olivia stared at the man before her in disbelief. She was on her private island, while Stella was supposed to be back in the USA.
How could it possibly be her?
"When the baby was born, she called me. She said her child had died and that she hated me and wouldn't let us off the hook."
As soon as Benjamin finished speaking, Olivia slapped him hard across the face.
"Benjamin, if anything happens to my baby, I will never forgive you for as long as I live!"
Tears streamed down her face. Just as she was about to organize a search party for the baby, Benjamin's phone rang.
When he answered, Stella's voice came through, as expected.
"Benjamin, you must be looking for your and Olivia's baby right now. It's a boy, isn't he? So handsome, looks just like you."
"Waaaah!"
As soon as Stella finished speaking, the baby's crying could be heard.
Hearing her child's cries, Olivia's heart clenched.
She rushed over and grabbed Benjamin's phone, pleading: "Stella, don't hurt my baby. I'll give you anything you want, just don't hurt my child!"
"Fine, I won't hurt him, but you'll have to trade your life for his. You die, and I'll let him go."
"Okay!"
Before Stella could even finish, Olivia had already agreed. "Where are you? Let my son go!"
"I'm at the dock. Come right now."
The call disconnected, and Olivia ran out like a madwoman.
Soon, she spotted Stella at the dock.
She was standing at the edge, holding Olivia's baby in her arms.
"Stella, don't do anything rash. Give me back my child."
Seeing Olivia and Benjamin running toward her from a distance, the hatred in Stella's eyes reached its peak.
"You two ruined my life, and you still think you can have your happy family reunion?"
Stella held the baby up, threatening to throw him into the sea at any moment.
The crashing waves came one after another, and the baby's cries mingled with the sound of the surf, making everyone's hearts race with fear.
Seeing Olivia crying hysterically, Stella's smile only grew wider.
"Stella, calm down! Murder is a crime, especially when it's such a small baby. If you hate me, take it out on me. Don't hurt my son!" Benjamin tried his best to control his anger and shouted.
"Don't worry, Benjamin. I don't want your life—I want Olivia's. They say a mother's love is great, willing to die for her child. So, Olivia, jump into the sea now, and I'll spare your son! Otherwise, I can't guarantee what I might do."
As she spoke, she made a fake motion of throwing the baby.
Olivia covered her mouth in terror. "NO! God! PLEASE!! I'll jump, I'll jump!"
"No, Liv, don't!"
Benjamin shook his head, grabbing Olivia's arm while turning to Stella.
"Stella, don't you just want me to pay for your daughter's life? I'll jump. I'll go in, and you let my son go."
"Dream on. I said I want Olivia to jump. If you keep stalling, don't blame me for what happens!"
With that, Stella threw the baby into the air.
"Ah!"
Olivia nearly fainted in shock, but Stella caught the baby again.
"STOP! Don't hurt him—I'll jump!"
The baby cried even louder, and hearing this, Olivia didn't hesitate to leap from the dock into the raging sea.
With a splash, the water rose in a huge wave.
