As the massive AG59 loomed above the battlefield, pouring soldiers and drones into the village, Dalen ducked into the shadows behind the forge, blood streaking his temple.
He met eyes with Avera, who had just climbed down from the watchtower, her breath short, her eyes glowing faintly from the 's resonance.
“It’s time,” Dalen whispered.
Avera nodded.
While the front lines clashed in the village square, Marah and the main force held the defense. Meanwhile, Avera and Dalen led a small elite team—five warriors trained in stealth—through the hidden tunnels that ran beneath the village, carved centuries ago by ancestors to protect the .
“We get to the edge of the ridge behind the AG59,” Dalen said, whispering as they moved through the dark. “There’s a fuel node near the engine bay. Hit that, and the whole sky machine drops like a stone.”
“But we only get one shot,” Avera added, gripping her bow.
Outside, the ground quaked as the AG59 extended its massive landing struts. The rear hatch opened, and dozens more enhanced soldiers marched out, surrounding the battlefield.
From the ridge above, Dalen’s group emerged silently, cloaked by trees and smoke. The AG59 loomed ahead—hulking, steaming, pulsing.
“Now,” Dalen said.
One warrior struck a match and lit the rope fuse leading to a large clay pot filled with gunpowder and shrapnel. Dalen aimed his explosive arrow—carefully.
He let it fly.
Boom.
The arrow struck the node. Then—
An eruption. The explosion roared through the machine's underbelly. Flames burst from inside, and the AG59 jerked violently.
Inside the cockpit, General Freddie poll staggered as sparks flew. “Where did that come from?!”
But it was too late.
The AG59 shrieked through the sky like a wounded beast, smoke trailing from its wings. Freddie struggled with the controls, but it was too late. The massive jet, overloaded with weaponry and fury, slammed into the cliffside with a deafening roar.
A blinding explosion tore through the mountain’s edge, fire blooming against the stone like a second sun. The shockwave rippled across the valley, sending dust, rock, and shrapnel into the air. The ground trembled beneath the force.
For a long moment, silence hung heavy—then came the distant echo of fire crackling, and the slow collapse of metal as the wreckage burned against the cliff.
The village fighters saw it—and roared.
Avera gripped Dalen’s arm. “Now we fight on our terms.”
And they descended from the ridge like fire, into the chaos, blades drawn.
