Anna's pov
I couldn't stop crying as we were driving around looking for Lena. I couldn't get the look of hurt when she greeted me and I ignored her out of my head. I pictured how her hazel eyes had welled up in tears as her bottom lip trembled.
I didn't mean to do it on purpose, I was just upset that my boss had send me more work and I took it out on Olivia and Lena as I heard them giggle. I could hear them till in my office.
I know it's not an excuse, but I would do anything for Lena and Olivia to forgive me. Especially Lena. I could see that Olivia was upset with me and I don't blame her.
I ignored Lena and had forgot that was one of her limits.
It felt like we were driving around in circles. My stomach was in a turmoil of worry and guilt, Liv was the same as she kept cursing and slamming her hands against the steering wheel.
I leaned my forehead against the window as my eyes dart in every direction possible. We were driving close to a park now. I always wanted to take Lena there.
I sat up straight as something caught my eye. I looked closer and saw a small figure running into the park. I looked to see what the figure was running from and saw some drunk men running while stumbling around, trying to keep there balance.
"Olivia look!" I said nervously, and tapped Liv's arm to get her attention.
"What..what is it? Is it Lena?!" She asked as she pressed hard on the brake, making us shoot to the front of the dashboard, making the car screech.
"No, I don't know. I saw some men running towards the park and it looks like they chasing someone" I turned to her and stared at her in panic.
"Do you think it's Lena?" Liv asked hastily as she hastily loosen her seatbelt. She leaned over to my side and looked at what I was see.
"I'm not sure, but a saw a small figure running into the park. It's been two hours Liv!"
"Fuck! What if it's Lena!?"
"Should we go check it, I don't have a good feeling about this. It's dark and windy. She only has her onesie when I saw her and I don't think she took a jacket. I don't know what I'll do if I lost her Liv. I'm so scared for..." my voice cracked. It felt like a thorn was stuck in my throat.
"She's probably cold. I just hope and pray she's safe at least" Olivia clearly her throat and blinked her tears away.
"Let's go" Liv said determine as she got out of the car and began to walk to the park.
I got out and followed out right behind her. I held Lena's blanket and jacket in my hands as we entered the park. We stopped in our tracks as we saw a group of men and ran further to the other opening of the park.
"Lena!" Olivia called out as our eyes darted all over the park.
"Lena, baby it's mama and mommy. Where are you?" I screamed loud as possible. My body was shaking with endless nerves.
"Bumblebee, where are you?" A frown was on Olivia's face. I could see that she was frustrated.
"Dammit, where could see be, Anna? We've been driving around and have not caught one glimpse of her!"
This has been the most I have even seen Olivia vulnerable and crying so much in my entire life of knowing her. It felt like a dagger to my heart.
"We can't give up, our baby needs us. We need to be strong for her" I grabbed Olivia's face and gently wiped her tears away.
"I know" she whispered in a broken voice. I hated this and it was all my fault.
"Let's look around" i said, feeling confident that she would be around here.
We kept walking checking every single hiding spot in the park where a person could hide. I came to a spot where wheels were halfway buried in the sand. I got on my knees and crawled in, checked every wheel to see if she was hiding. I cursed when I didn't find her.
"Please baby, where are you" I whispered out into the dark.
I crawled out to the other end and stood up. I dusted myself off from the sand that got on me. I could hear Olivia still frantically yelling out for Lena.
I stood there, looking around the picnic area. There were numerous trees and benches. With a baited breath, I walked towards the area. I frowned as I heard little sobs and heavy breathing coming from one of the trees.
"Olivia!" I hurriedly called out. I heard Olivia running towards me.
I knew that cry from anywhere and that was Lena's cry. I could feel my breast leaking.
"That's Lena's cry, Liv. I know that's my baby" I said hysterically as I ran closer to where the cries where coming from.
I stop as I watched Lena laying on the floor under a tree. She was clutched her onesie in her hand, trying to tug it off and her breathing was raspy.
"Lena, my baby" I said as I cried in relief.
I sprang into action and fell onto my knees and immediately pulled her into my arms. I began sobbing as I held her close and breathed in her scent.
"No n-o-o, m-mo-o-o-my. P-pl-lease n-no h-h-u-urt" Lena begged out desperately and began to struggle in my hold.
"It's okay baby, its okay, it's mama" I tried whispering in her ear to calm her down as I gently rocked her but it didn't seem to work.
She was fighting and trashing in arms with all her might to get away from me. She had her eyes shut tightly, while heaving heavily to get her breath back.
"Shh baby, it's mommy. You okay bumblebee" Liv bend down on her knees next to me and grabbed Lena out of my arms.
I watched as she got Lena to calm down and breathing under control. Liv whispered reassurance and laid gentle kisses on Lena's face.
"Open your eyes for me, honey. It's mommy, everything is okay, I got you. You are safe now"
"M-m-o-om-my?" Lena whispered out huskily. She slowly opened her eyes and stared up at Olivia.
"Yes, it's mommy" Liv smiled as she started crying.
"Mommy!" Lena started wailing as she cling tightly onto Olivia.
I felt useless. I sat on my knees as my arms dangled next to me and watched the scene play out. Tears were sliding down my face, crying silently. I felt my heart breaking.
I couldn't comfort my own baby that was always attached to me. It's like they forgot I was there.
I got up and went and picked Lena's stuff up from the floor. I wiped my tears away and took deep breaths in. I walked back towards them and saw Olivia already carrying Lena out the park and towards the car.
"Please don't hate me"
I kept my head down as I walked towards the car. I just wanted everything to go back to normal
"Hi sweetheart" I said sweetly as I stood next to them. I stroke Lena's hair, trying to see her face but she just whined.
"Can you drive, I'm going to sit in the back with Lena" Liv gave me a small smile.
"Y-yeah" I said, forcing a smile.
"Thanks" Liv thanked me as Lena hid her face deeper into her neck. I opened the back door for them and helped them get in.
"Here's her blanket. She probably cold and tired" I passed everything over to her, without looking at them.
I got into the drivers seat and started driving home. The drive home was silent.
