Anna's pov
The entire night I tossed and turned. I couldn't seem to fall asleep as I kept staring at the baby monitor and watched Lena and Olivia sleeping in Lena's crib.
I had to watch Lena having a nightmare and I couldn't even go and comfort her. But I was thankful that Liv was there by her side. Lena was sobbing her little heart out for twenty minutes before Olivia got her back to sleep.
I looked at the the time and saw it was 6am in the morning and I had yet to get rest. I sigh knowing I wasn't going to fall asleep.
I got tiredly out of bed and put on a sweatpants. I picked up the milked I pumped and walked down the stairs and put it in the fridge.
I knew all that milk would be going to waste. Lena rarely ever drinks from her bottle and seeing as she doesn't want to be close to or even her bottle, I might have as well throw it.
I walked over to the kettle and boiled water for a cup of coffee. I reminisce as the sunlight reflect in the kitchen, as I made a steamy cup of coffee.
I sat down in the chair as the light hit me perfectly in the face. I sat in silence as I took slow sips, letting the hot coffee burn my throat, just the way I liked it.
"Think Anna, think" I sigh as I thought of ways to make up for everything.
"Their favourite breakfast!" I smiled to myself. I finished my coffee and washed my hands then started on breakfast
I made some pancakes and scrambled eggs for Lena and for Olivia I made fried egg and sausages with toast. I plated everything. I put Lena's breakfast in her high chair with maple syrup and watered down apple juice in her silly cup, on the side.
I looked at everything but something felt off. I hurried to the garden as plucked some tulips . I walked in the kitchen and took out a vase , filled it with water and placed it in the middle of the table.
I hurriedly put the flowers in the vase as I heard footsteps came downstairs and giggles . I smiled at my handy work.
"Good morning" I said softly as I waved to Lena and Olivia.
Both of them were dressed up already. I frowned and looked at the time and saw it was already 8:30. Wow, time really flew by.
They both looked beautiful. Lena had on a sunny dress on with little daisies on with a white sandal. Her hair was in two pigtails, with two tendrils hanging in the front of her face.
Olivia had on a mom jeans with a baseball shirt, pair with a takkie. Her hair was in a bun with minimum makeup on her face.
And I here I looked like dirt. Probably with dark under eyes circles and messy hair.
"Morning" Liv said giving me a nod in acknowledgment, but Lena just looked at me before hiding in Olivia's neck.
"Hi Lena. Mama made your favourite. Are you hungry sweetheart?" I asked as I walked closer to them and peeked at Lena.
At this point I was desperate.
"I-i made breakfast" I quickly said and pointed to the table. Liv looked surprise at all the food on the table.
"Thank you, that's nice of you" Liv said giving me a small smile. Progress!
"It's the least I can do. Come on, have a seat, I already dished everything out" I walked to the table and pulled Olivia's seat back.
"Actually...we are going to have breakfast at Moons bakery. Lena's wants their flapjacks and milkshakes, she deserves it after such a hard night" Liv cooed and rubbed Lena's back.
"T-that's okay. Go on then. I'll see you guys later" I felt my heart crack. I swallowed back the thick lump in my throat.
"You welcome to join us, that's if you want to do" Olivia said awkwardly but Lena whined after she said that.
"No no no, it's okay. I'm not dressed, I'll make you guys late. Go and enjoy your time together" I smiled and waved them out.
"If you say so. See you later" Liv shrugged and walked out the door.
"Bye baby, be safe please. Mama loves you" I called out as I waved goodbye. I saw Lena peeked out and looked at me over Olivia's shoulder.
I sigh as I got nothing in response. I closed the door and looked around the house. The quietness felt so foreign.
I walked back to the kitchen and started cleaning up the cold and uneaten breakfast. Te thick lump in my throat bubbled forward as tears rolled down my face.
The fact that it's only been hours that Lena was ignoring me felt an eternity. I wish I could take back everything.
In the hours that they were gone, I had finished all my work and cleaned the entire house and the wash the laundry. Done with that, all I could do was sit in the living room and watch some show, which I wasn't paying attention too.
I was to focus on the clock. Every five minutes, my eyes darted upwards, wondering when Lena and Olivia would be home.
I had cooked dinner. I made some stir fry, that I knew Lena would love. She loves noodles.
I wanted to talk and just get everything off my chest and apologise. My leg was bouncing in anxiousness. I looked at the clock again and saw it was already 6pm.
"Where are you guys?" I whispered into the air. I was so close to calling them as my finger hoover over the call button.
Finally I heard the car park up the driveway. I was hoping to speak to big Lena.
"Hi" I said breathlessly as I hurriedly opened the door.
I leaned in for a kiss, but I could see Olivia lean back a bit. I moved back and cleared my throat awkwardly.
"Hi?" Liv said in shock clearly not expecting to see as her hand hoover in the air. She was holding Lena in her arms. Guess she was still little.
"Is she sleeping?" I whispered out softly.
"She was on the ride back home but woke up about 10 minutes ago" Liv said and put Lena down.
"Hi sweetheart" I cooed and as I brushed her hair out of her face.
"Hi" Lena said softly, but still wasn't looking at me.
"Can I have a hug, mama missed you so much baby. Mama made your favourite food" I said trying to be enthusiastic.
I so badly wanted to pick her up and just hold her close to me. To breathe in her baby smell and nurse her.
"Mommy, up pease!" Lena gave me the side eye. She pouted and held her arms up and made grabby hands to Olivia.
I retracted my hand. She was clearly still upset and uncomfortable with me. I get it but it still hurt more every time.
"How about we play with some of your toys. Would you like that, mmhm?" Liv said as bend down and kissed Lena's forehead.
"Mommy p'ay wif me?" Lena said cutely as she gave Olivia the puppy dog eyes.
"Sure baby. Why don't you go play, while I talk to mama" Liv laughed at the obvious trick Lena was pulling.
"Okays, luv mommy" Lena pulled her into a hug before darting to the living room.
"Not mama, it A'na" I heard Lena mumble harshly under her breath. I don't think she knew I heard her.
My eyes darted away from a running Lena as my breath hitched. I stared at Olivia with wide and panic eyes.
Thank you guys for the amazing suggestions!
I know this is not what some of you guys wanted, but majority of the comments said that Anna should be ignored for a while.
Please remember that Lena's in littlespace, so her little self will obviously be upset that the person she counts on the most ignored her for a week and now suddenly wants to talk to her again.
Honestly, what would you guys do if you were in Lena's situation?
Personally me, I would ignore Anna too, after being treated like that.
