Jonah quickly stepped forward, blocking her path.
"Rushing to report back to Madison? You must be thrilled my engagement fell apart. Tell me, where is she?"
Amber pursed her lips. "What does your engagement have to do with Madison? And what does Madison's whereabouts have to do with you? You've broken up, yet you keep pestering her. Have you no shame?"
These were the exact words Jonah had once used to humiliate Madison, now thrown back at him by Amber.
His face reddened with anger.
"Madison is nothing but a dog that comes when I call. Who cares about pursuing her?"
"I want to see how long she can hold out! Everyone in Torrance knows Madison is mine. With the Hayes family in their current state, she won't find anyone to marry. She'll end up on her knees begging me to take her back!"
"Oh, really?" Amber blinked, revealing an enigmatic smile.
"Someone might just be bold enough to prove you wrong."
"What did you say?!"
Jonah's eyes blazed with fury as he reached out to grab Amber for an explanation.
A Rolls-Royce Ghost suddenly pulled up at the entrance, and Amber nimbly slipped inside.
"My driver's here. Mr. Blake, congratulations on your engagement!"
Left breathing in exhaust fumes, Jonah's face turned dark as coal.
What did Amber mean by those last words? Had Madison really found someone new?
Who would dare enough to touch what belonged to Jonah?
Whoever this person was, he would make them pay a devastating price!
Grinding his teeth, he pulled out his phone and made a call: "Find out where Madison is and who she's been with these past few days."
After several days of investigation, they found nothing.
Madison had vanished without a trace, as if she'd disappeared into thin air.
Desperate, Jonah went to the Hayes family for information. They vaguely claimed she had gone abroad to clear her mind.
But there was no record of her leaving the country.
For the first time, Jonah felt anxious. Things seemed to be slipping out of his control.
That day, Jonah's father, Victor Blake, received a call from the elder Mr. Blake, summoning the entire family to the ancestral home for a family dinner, saying he had an important announcement to make.
After hanging up, Victor seemed excited, lowering his voice to tell his wife: "Do you think it's about the family leadership position..."
Mrs. Blake 's lips curled into a smug smile: "Of course... Vincent has been in a vegetative state for almost two months now. The elder Mr. Blake naturally needs to find a new successor."
"You're the eldest son, and I gave the Blake family its eldest grandson. You'll definitely be the new head, and the Blake family will be ours."
Victor snorted coldly: "Vincent was just a bit smarter than others with some business talent, yet our father disregarded seniority and made him the leader!"
"Honestly, James wasn't thorough enough. If he had killed him outright in that accident, we wouldn't have had to wait these extra two months!"
"Mom, Dad, what are you talking about?" Jonah suddenly appeared behind them, looking puzzled.
"Nothing, Jonah. Grandfather called and wants us at the family home tomorrow for dinner. You should prepare yourself."
Jonah nodded absent-mindedly.
The next day, preoccupied with his thoughts, Jonah accompanied his parents to the Blake family ancestral home.
As they walked past the rock garden and stream in the front courtyard, Jonah lazily looked up—and suddenly spotted a familiar figure under the magnolia tree ahead.
