I woke up that day feeling sore all over. Vincent had already left for work.
He was always careful in the mornings, trying not to disturb my sleep.
I rubbed my back, which Vincent had thoroughly ravished the night before, and lazily checked my phone.
Amber had sent me a message, inviting me to a bar that night.
With nothing else planned, I got up to apply makeup and change clothes, then headed to our meeting place that evening.
When I pushed open the private room door, the scene before me was shocking.
Amber was tied up on the sofa with tape over her mouth, whimpering and frantically shaking her head at me.
It was a trap!
My heart sank. As I tried to retreat and call for help, someone blocked my way.
"Miss Hayes, how nice to see you again," said Lily.
"Lily, what are you trying to do? I advise you not to do anything stupid. Amber is innocent!" I said, trying to stay calm.
Lily let out a soft laugh: "Madison, after how you've ruined me, I won't spare you or your friend."
"Because of you, Jonah abandoned me at our engagement party and has been avoiding me ever since, making me the laughingstock of the entire city!"
"If it weren't for you, I would be Mrs. Blake now! Tell me, how could I not hate you?"
My voice trembled slightly: "I have no relationship with Jonah now. I didn't make him abandon you."
"What you're doing is illegal. I suggest you stop now. If something happens, you won't escape the consequences."
Lily gave me a contemptuous glance.
"Who says I'm doing this myself?"
Lily stepped aside, and the middle-aged man from that day emerged from behind her.
"Miss Blake, we meet again." The man's sinister smile triggered memories of that day.
I shuddered, instinctively backing away.
"Mr. Wilson, I've taken care of everything at the bar. No one will disturb you. I'll lock the room for you so you can enjoy yourself."
Lily winked at me smugly, slipped out of the room, and there came the crisp sound of a lock turning.
My mind exploded in panic. I tried to rush to the door, but the man grabbed me around the waist and threw me heavily onto the sofa.
"Hmph, let's see where you can run now!"
The man's thick hands slipped under my top as I struggled desperately, but he pinned me down firmly.
With a ripping sound, he tore my clothes.
In my desperation, I spotted an ashtray on the table.
I used one hand to fend him off while reaching for the ashtray with the other.
Suddenly, Amber, from the other side, raised her bound feet and kicked the table hard. The ashtray rolled into my hand.
Just as I was about to smash it against the man's head, Lily's panicked voice came from outside.
"Madison's not in there, don't be rash..."
The door was kicked open with a loud bang.
"Madison, are you okay?!"
