"Yes," Daniel sighed. "Years ago, many researchers were assassinated, so we have guards now. Ruth, what about you? Do you work in the field of medicine?"

"I patiently waited for a chance to run away. I didn't succeed till I was taken on a train. I went to the restroom with an excuse and then jumped off the train."

Ruth continued, "I broke my leg and limped for nearly two miles before a kind widow took me in. Then, I stayed with the old lady and worked for her.
"Five years later, the old lady died, and I went to Draymont City. I worked around Uncle's house while waiting for Dad. Four months later, Dad came, and we hurried to the countryside."
At the mention of the past, Ruth still had a lingering fear.
Darnell sympathized with Ruth. Tearful, he held her hands and said, "Ruth, I feel sorry for you."
"You must have a difficult time too." Then, Ruth changed the topic by asking, "Darnell, did you find yourself a wife?"

"It is late, and all the shops are closed. I can't buy your wife any gifts for our first meeting now. Darnell, why don't you drive me to the hotel first? I will pay you an official visit tomorrow." Ruth was traditional.
Daniel shook his head and said calmly, "My wife passed away four years ago. She had a brain tumor and failed to leave the operating room alive.
"She and I got acquainted 39 years ago and had been in love for 34 years and ten months. She was a warm comfort to me."
