Jeremy staggered out of the villa, barely keeping his balance.
His dark and terrifying expression startled Aiden into immediately stubbing out his cigarette and rushing over to support him.
Aiden immediately asked, "Mr. Tucker, what's wrong?"
Aiden thought anxiously, 'Wait, is his condition suddenly getting worse? But that can't be right. Mr. Tucker's illness only deteriorates every two weeks. It's barely been a week, this shouldn't be happening now.'
Jeremy locked Aiden's arm behind his back, his palm noticeably hotter than usual.
Jeremy asked, trying to keep his voice steady, though a faint flush colored his eyes. "Aiden, can you find an antidote for the aphrodisiac?"
Aiden's eyes widened in shock.
He immediately realized what was happening and blurted out, "Yes, I do know a military doctor, but he's not in Eldraeth City. Even if I took a helicopter, we wouldn't make it in time. The best option is to get your stomach pumped at the hospital."
Jeremy shook his head, his voice tight. "It's too late. The drug's already kicking in."
Aiden immediately looked troubled, clearly at a loss for what to do.
"Um..." Aiden said with concern, "Then the only option is an ice bath treatment. But Mr. Tucker, your condition can't withstand such extreme measures."
"Let's get out of the manor now!" Jeremy forced composure as he strode out.
Just then, Dorian's car pulled up right at the gates of the manor.
Seeing Jeremy emerging from manor, Dorian quickly pushed open his car door and strode over to him. "Uncle Jeremy, I need to ask you something..."
Jeremy shot Dorian a cold, commanding glare. His voice was low and brooked no argument. "I have urgent matters to attend to. Go home now and wait for my call!"
Dorian recoiled a step under the fury blazing in Jeremy's eyes.
He stood frozen in place, completely forgetting what he had come to report. He could only watch helplessly as Jeremy got into the car and drove away.
Dorian glanced back at the manor—its understated exterior radiating solemnity and oppression. With a sudden clench of his fist, he sped after Jeremy.
"I'm getting to the bottom of this tonight, no matter what!" he grunted with resolve.
Aiden quickly spotted Dorian's car right behind them, tailing closely.
"Mr. Tucker, Mr. Barnes has been tailing us. Should I lose him?" For the first time, Aiden felt a genuine surge of irritation toward Dorian.
'What's with this kid? So damn annoying! Such a nosy bastard!' he cursed inwardly.
Jeremy yanked off his tie and slumped back against the seat, his breathing ragged.
Despite his desperate attempts to focus elsewhere, the scorching heat coursing through his veins was shredding the last threads of his self-control.
"Lose him," Jeremy ordered, his tone unnervingly composed.
"Got it!" Aiden responded sharply, his grip tightening on the steering wheel.
Aiden's driving skills were exceptional. In just three minutes, he left Dorian in the dust.
"Mr. Tucker, we need to switch cars!"
Aiden had another safe house nearby.
He dashed back home, helped Jeremy into a discreet black Audi, and sped straight to Stellar District General Hospital without wasting a second.
Jeremy could feel the drug's effects intensifying, burning away what little self-control he had left.
Jeremy's mind was dissolving into mush. Desperate, he suddenly sank his teeth into his own wrist, blood instantly welled up, spilling from the corner of his mouth.
Aiden's face paled in shock. "Mr. Tucker! What the hell did you take?"
The pain jolted Jeremy back to his senses for a moment.
His eyes remained shut, each breath coming heavier than the last.
In his previous life, Zelda had drugged him in the middle of a scorching summer.
But it was only April
It happened earlier.
Everything was happening too early.
Jeremy knew better than anyone just how damn potent this drug was.
In his previous life, he managed to get through it by taking an ice bath, but his health rapidly declined, hastening his death.
'No! I can't die now!'
"Aiden."
"What?"
"Skip the hospital."
Jeremy exhaled deeply, seizing a moment of clarity to order Aiden, "Take me to the Terrace Club and find me a woman."
The Terrace Club was a private, members-only establishment that Jeremy had invested in during his youth.
Previously, Jeremy had met with Kelly at this very club.
