"Coach, I need to skip class tomorrow. There's something I have to take care of..."
To my shock, Vincent Roland's glare melted away in an instant.
A greasy smile slithered across his face. "No problem at all. Next time just shoot me a call—no need for the formal visit. By the way, I don't think I caught your name?"
"I'm Luna..."
While they chatted, I straightened my clothes and edged toward the door.
My fingers barely grazed the handle when Vincent's hand clamped down on my shoulder from behind.
The friendly facade vanished—his eyes turned predatory as he hurled me backward into the room.
Message received: I wasn't leaving.
"Coach? Everything okay in there? You're working pretty late."
A muscle twitched in Vincent's jaw at the interruption.
"Yeah, just giving one of my students some extra training," he called out, voice oozing fake cheer. "You know how dedicated I am!"
Watching Luna's eager nod, I recognized that same naive trust I'd had before... back when I still thought Vincent actually gave a damn about his students.
"Everyone was right when they said you're the best coach here! Once I sort out my personal stuff, maybe I could book some private sessions too?"
Vincent's eyes gleamed like a shark catching blood in the water.
"Anytime, sweetheart! Just say the word and I'll give you my undivided attention."
Ice flooded my veins. Was I really going to let another girl walk into this trap?
Every fiber of me wanted to scream the truth—to rip off his mask of respectability.
But each time Vincent spoke, he angled his head just enough to pin me with a warning stare.
Those damn photos on his phone flashed through my mind, dousing my fury like a bucket of cold water. I stayed silent.
"Coach, it's getting late. I should go... Don't work too hard, okay?"
