The next day was Whitney's child's full-month celebration.
After a night of passion, Harrison swiped open his phone and was surprised to find no calls or texts from Whitney—unusually quiet.
Thinking of today's complicated ceremony, he got dressed to leave, but Vera hugged his waist: "Harrison, be patient and spend tonight at home with Whitney to put your mother's mind at ease. Don't sneak back to see me, okay?"
"We'll take things slow."
"Vera, you always think of me first, never considering how much you suffer."
Harrison stayed with Vera for a long time. When he finally reached the hotel, he found it packed with guests whispering, but no sign of Whitney and the child.
"Harrison, fooling around is one thing, but being late to your own child's full-month celebration is unacceptable!" Mother Sterling was furious: "How did you upset my daughter-in-law now? Her phone number's disconnected!"
"Disconnected?" Harrison was shocked, then filled with rage: "She's got some nerve, skipping her own kid's celebration!"
"Mom, this has gotta be Whitney pulling some stunt to piss me off!"
"I'll find her and deal with her properly!"
"Talk to her nicely, don't be an ass." Mother Sterling said seriously.
Harrison called Whitney's number repeatedly—still disconnected.
He called everyone she knew—they all said they hadn't seen her or didn't know.
His mood grew increasingly agitated as he ordered his assistant to search the entire city.
"Boss, Mrs. Sterling isn't at the maternity stores she usually visits."
"Boss, she's not at her favorite flower shop either!"
"Keep looking!" Harrison rubbed his throbbing head: "Ten thousand reward for any useful leads!"
From morning till afternoon, Whitney was still nowhere to be found.
The guests were completely restless, surrounding Harrison with chatter.
"It's probably not kidnapping—we would've gotten ransom calls by now."
"Who knows? I heard Mrs. Sterling had a huge fight with Mr. Sterling yesterday. Maybe she jumped in the river with the kid in a fit of rage. After all, everyone knows Mr. Sterling doesn't love her!"
"Mrs. Sterling chased Mr. Sterling for eight years before making it—she wouldn't be willing to kill herself!"
The crowd's speculation made Harrison irritated and restless.
He thought about the divorce papers his assistant delivered last night, his unease growing.
What if this woman really couldn't handle it...
"No way!" Harrison tried to convince himself: "Whitney loves that kid to death—she'd never give up her life!"
Maybe she was secretly hiding at home, waiting for him to come back!
Harrison rushed out of the hotel and raced home, only to find a moving truck parked outside the villa with workers hauling stuff inside.
Harrison was thunderstruck, grabbing the directing old man: "This is MY house—what the hell are you doing?"
"This house... your wife sold it to us yesterday." The old man was shaking from his icy tone: "I have the deed!"
"WHAT?" Harrison's face went white as he snatched the property deed, staring at the unfamiliar owner's name. His body staggered back: "She actually sold the wedding house?"
"How's that possible? This was my mother's wedding gift to Whitney. She said she'd pass this villa down to future generations!"
"You must be working with her to scam me!"
Harrison pushed past the people blocking him and ran into the house, only to see—
The lily picture that hung in the living room was gone!
All the framed photos displayed in the house had vanished!
The red wooden box where she kept love letters from the dining room cabinet was missing too!
"Whitney Collins, GET OUT HERE!"
He opened every room looking for that familiar figure, shouting: "I'm counting to three—if you don't come out, don't blame me for taking the kid away so you'll never see him again!"
