"What makes you think you deserve to hold MY son?" Whitney raised her hand to block his view of Camden, her expression tragic: "When Camden had a fever as a newborn during that heavy rain, I begged you to take us to the hospital—did you help us?"
"When the child needed money for treatment and you'd canceled all my credit cards, I called you—did you answer?"
Harrison was speechless from her accusations, hanging his head: "I'm sorry, Whit. Back then I thought Vera was..."
"Harrison, not everything can be fixed with 'sorry'!"
Whitney's voice was pained: "I'll never forget how because of your coldness and refusal to help, my Camden almost became brain-damaged!"
"So you have no right to ask me to remarry you."
"And you sure as hell have no right to show up in front of our son and enjoy happy father-son moments!"
With that, she turned and left, no matter how Harrison called out, she never looked back.
Harrison gripped his wheelchair handles tightly, tears dripping onto the yellow toy car.
In a daze, he saw the elevator scene where baby Camden in his blue blanket reached out to grab his sleeve, milk dribbling from the child's mouth onto his hand.
The little guy's dark eyes looked at him with curiosity.
That was his biological son, his own flesh and blood.
A child who'd just recovered from a fever.
What had this bastard done?
He'd coldly shaken off the child's touch saying: "What are you doing? Disgusting!"
Camden couldn't understand the words but felt his disgust. The baby's face crumpled pitifully as he buried his head in Whitney's chest, crying his heart out.
And he'd walked away with Vera's child without a word of comfort, never looking at Camden again!
He'd personally destroyed the child's desire to get close to him!
His coldness had severed all connection between father and son!
The child's clear laughter interrupted Harrison's thoughts.
Harrison looked over to see Xavier holding up the yellow toy car, playing with Camden.
The child giggled and threw himself into the man's arms, kissing his cheek.
Xavier beamed, supporting the child's arms as he tossed him in the air: "Like playing like this, Camden?"
The little guy nodded frantically, his round face full of joy: "Fly! More fly!"
"Okay, Daddy will make you fly!"
"Xavier, hold him tight—don't drop him." Whitney followed closely, opening a thermos: "Sweetie, drink some strawberry juice!"
"Mommy, I can fly!" Camden spread his arms excitedly, showing her.
"Yes, you fly so well!" Whitney gave him a thumbs up.
This scene cut Harrison's heart like a knife.
He regretfully pounded his head, sobbing uncontrollably.
If he could go back in time...
He'd definitely take tender care of Whitney and not make her cry during recovery.
He'd definitely learn how to care for children and build a father-son bond.
But it was all too late!
Now Whitney couldn't see him at all—only that Xavier guy!
Harrison's arm trembled as he pulled out the lily-patterned jade ring from his pocket, his eyes flashing with intensity and madness.
Camden was his biological son, connected by blood.
As long as he put in the effort, given time the child would definitely accept him as father!
Once the child accepted him, winning back Whitney would have real hope!
He would never give up!
He'd bring them home to have a happy Christmas with his mother!
