At the hospital, Whitney's baby was rushed to the ER.
The doctor gave her a bill to pay.
Since the child was premature, all the imported medicines came to over twenty thousand.
Whitney had quit her job after marriage to focus on caring for Harrison.
Her savings of around two hundred thousand had all been spent on the baby.
Now she had almost nothing left.
She tried all the credit cards Harrison had given her before—yet every single one had been canceled by that bastard!
She called around, but no one would help.
Finally, she had to call Harrison.
The call was answered immediately, but Vera's voice came through: "Whitney, what's wrong? Harrison's in the shower right now."
Before Whitney could speak, she heard the woman's giggles and the phone hitting the floor: "Harrison, don't be so eager, I haven't dried my hair yet..."
Then came obscene sounds from the phone.
She hung up in disappointment, wondering who to borrow money from in an emergency.
It was Xavier Shaw from the ER offered to help her pay the medical bills.
Whitney was surprised and grateful, bowing deeply: "Dr. Shaw, thank you for saving me and my child that day, and for helping me again today."
"I'll pay you back once I sell the wedding house."
"Don't rush to pay me back." Dr. Shaw looked sympathetic: "You're still recovering—you can't catch cold or get chilled. Take care of yourself and don't do anything stupid. After all, our department fought day and night to save you and the child."
Whitney felt warmth in her heart, tears silently falling.
A doctor she'd only met a few times was willing to help.
But her husband canceled all her credit cards to punish her. Didn't care about their child, busy fooling around with his lover!
How ironic!
Being Mrs. Sterling was truly without dignity or value!
Living like a joke!
"Mrs. Sterling, you can't cry during recovery—it'll damage your eyes." Dr. Shaw comforted her: "You need to hold on. I have to get back to the ER."
Whitney wiped away her tears, biting her lip: "I will live well, for my Camden."
"By the way, Mrs. Sterling, the new drug our hospital just developed—you don't plan to tell Mr. Sterling about it?" Dr. Shaw said: "This medication can repair damaged brain nerves—it should help Mr. Sterling recover his memory quickly."
"Tell him after the baby's full-month celebration the day after tomorrow," Whitney said.
Two hours later, the little guy's fever was finally under control.
She held her son tightly, tears wetting the child's face.
Dr. Shaw said if they'd arrived ten minutes later, her son would've had brain damage from the high fever!
This child was born weighing only four and a half pounds. He'd spent half a month in an incubator just to survive.
Harrison only came once when the child was discharged—stayed three minutes with disgust written all over his face, then left.
And today, because of Harrison's cold refusal to help, the child almost became disabled!
Such a person wasn't just unfit to be a father.
He wasn't even fit to be human!
She'd make him regret today's actions when his memory returned.
Make him never see them again after his memory came back.
Let him suffer heart-wrenching pain every night, forever tormented by guilt!
Whitney carried the child downstairs to get medicine.
In the elevator, she ran into Harrison carrying Vera's son, all smiles: "Vera, don't worry about saving me money. For the kid's dental work, we'll use the most expensive materials. Ten grand is like the price of one belt to me."
Whitney lowered her eyes, hiding the coldness within.
When Harrison recovered his memory, would he still treat Vera's son this way?
She couldn't wait to see him break down and cry!
