Harrison was caught off guard as his white shirt got soaked instantly, his fury exploding as he roared: "You BITCH! Who gave you the balls to hit me?"
"You made Vera fall at the mall that day and nearly ruined her face. Making you cook soup as an apology is getting off easy, and you still have the nerve to throw a tantrum?"
"Typical kid with no mother to teach her—wild and unreasonable!"
Whitney thought she'd already been disappointed to the extreme.
She never imagined Harrison could be cruel enough to attack her deepest, most secret pain!
He'd forgotten he once held her hand saying: "Don't cry, Whit. From now on my mom is your mom. Whatever you wanna eat, I'll have her make it. Won't let you suffer even a little!"
"Anyone who bullies you or calls you motherless—I'll be the first to deal with them!"
Harrison's promises were vivid in her memory.
Yet today he hurt her this way to defend Vera!
Pain shot from Whitney's feet straight to her head, tears flowing like a broken faucet.
Overwhelming rage burned in her organs, making every inch of her skin feel like it would explode!
She was done being a pushover and enduring his torture as she fired back: "Ha! If you think I'm so worthless, then go find Vera! Why'd you suddenly come back here?"
"I didn't BEG you to come back and humiliate me!"
"Whitney, I came back with Harrison just to help him pack clothes. I had no intention of humiliating you." Vera clutched her red nightgown, her voice tiny: "He just got carried away—I couldn't help it either..."
With that, she bowed to Whitney: "I'm sorry, Whitney. Because of me you two are fighting like this. I had Lisa change all the sheets and bedding in your room—it won't affect your future use..."
"Stop playing innocent with me!" Whitney glared coldly: "I'm counting to three. If you're not GONE, just wait for Mother Sterling to personally come teach you some manners!"
At these words, Harrison's expression immediately changed.
This woman had always been Mother's favorite. If she got involved, today's incident might not end well!
He angrily pulled Vera away: "Just you wait—this isn't over!"
With that, Whitney slammed the door shut with a CLICK.
Harrison left with Vera in embarrassment, his face extremely dark.
The servants nearby pointed and whispered, looking shocked:
"Ma'am finally stood up for herself this time. Watching from the side felt so satisfying—well done!"
"The master went too far, making a woman in recovery cook soup for his mistress. If it were me, I'd want to kill him. Bastard deserved it!"
"Exactly! Even clay figures have some temper, let alone ma'am. No matter how much she loves the master, she can't take this kind of torture!"
"The master thinks he can act up because ma'am loves him, but sooner or later he'll drain all her love. Then he'll regret it!"
Harrison snorted coldly.
The biggest regret of his life was giving in to his mother's wishes and marrying Whitney Collins.
This woman was too scheming!
When he woke from his coma years ago, Vera had been by his side taking care of him.
Whitney was jealous and got the same tattoo as Vera on her chest.
She even claimed he'd saved her from the fire.
More ridiculous still, Whitney brought a box of love letters claiming he'd written them!
His eyes weren't blind—how could he not recognize his own handwriting?
Those letters were obviously written to Vera!
Vera caught Harrison's dark, stormy expression and the murderous aura radiating from him.
She pretended to comfort him: "Harrison, Whitney just loves you too much. She can't accept what we did in her room today..."
"She's still recovering and her emotions can't handle stimulation. Don't hold it against her."
"You're too kind, Vera. Whitney gave you such a hard time today, and you're still defending her?" Harrison held her heartbroken, furious: "I'll make sure she knows the price of pissing me off!"
"Someone get me a divorce agreement right now—make Whitney leave with NOTHING!"
Vera nestled in his arms, her eyes cold as ice.
If Harrison filed for divorce while Whitney was recovering, she'd be devastated and would definitely agree.
Then the Mrs. Sterling position would be hers!
