The air between us felt charged as I steadied Richard's unsteady gait. "I can walk," he insisted, but his body told a different story. "Just help me."
Was he deliberately keeping his distance?
I guided him toward the restroom, my arm firm around his waist. His steps were slow, uncertain.
"Wait outside," he muttered when we arrived, spotting another patient. I held him back until the man exited.
"Floor's slippery in there," the stranger warned on his way out.
"Thanks." My lips curved at the "Please step closer" sign - the irony wasn't lost on me.
Inside the sterile bathroom, I decided to test boundaries.
"You can go now," Richard said.
Instead, I moved closer. "I'm family," I reminded him, fingers already at his belt. "Let me help."
Before he could protest, I had the buckle undone. His face flushed crimson as he glanced nervously at the door.
"Relax," I murmured, pulling his pants down despite his fumbling resistance. "This isn't my first time."
His weakened state made him unsteady. "So stubborn," I teased, bracing him upright.
My fingers brushed against his softness, sparking memories of last night. A flicker of disappointment - had time diminished him?
Then suddenly, impossibly, he grew firm in my hand.
Electric excitement coursed through me. When I looked up, I found his gaze locked on me, his breathing uneven.
Footsteps outside made me freeze, but it was just a janitor passing by. Richard pushed my hand away, though the woman barely glanced our way.
"I told you not to," he grumbled.
"You're a patient," I countered smoothly. "This is standard care."
He fell silent, but the evidence of his arousal remained in my palm.
I studied his flushed, veined length with fascination. A gentle stroke made it pulse.
"Victoria..." His exhale was ragged. "I can't... not here."
I rolled my eyes. "After last night, why the shyness?" The words escaped before I could stop them. Did he take them as invitation?
He dropped his gaze, silent.
I waited, my hand still wrapped around him, feeling the heat of his skin.
"Still... can't," he finally admitted, his voice carrying that boyish embarrassment that somehow made him more endearing.
