Cassie's POV
My fingers trembled as I clutched Daniel's hand. "I'm freaking out," I admitted, my voice barely above a whisper.
He brushed his thumb over my knuckles, his smile steadying me. "You've got this," he murmured. "I've watched you pour everything into this—every late night, every ounce of passion. Tonight, you're not just coming back. You're reclaiming your spotlight. And no matter what happens out there, I'm already proud of you."
His words melted the last of my nerves. "Thank you," I breathed, rising onto my toes to kiss him. "I wouldn't be here without you."
"Alright, superstar! Showtime!" My manager's voice cut through the moment as she herded me toward the stage. "Let's give them a night they'll never forget! You're on in two!"
The team erupted around me, a chorus of excitement:
"Go crush it!"
"They're gonna lose their minds!"
"This is your comeback, Cassie!"
I let out a shaky laugh, nodding. "Okay. Let's do this."
Beyond the walls, the crowd's roar pulsed like a heartbeat, the floor vibrating under my feet. The stagehand flashed me the signal, and with one last deep breath, I stepped into the light.
The noise hit me like a wall—thousands of voices screaming my name, a sea of faces glowing under the stage lights. My grin was instant, unstoppable.
I reached the mic, waiting for the cheers to dip just enough. "Wow," I laughed, the sound echoing through the venue. "I don't even know where to start. This? This feels like coming home."
The crowd exploded again, signs waving, hands reaching.
"This song," I continued, my voice growing stronger, "is for every single one of you. For sticking with me, for believing in me when I barely believed in myself. It's called 'Home Again'—because that's exactly what tonight is."
The first chords rang out, and the audience erupted, singing every word before I even opened my mouth. Tears pricked my eyes as their voices wrapped around mine, raw and full of joy. By the first verse, I let them take the lead, stepping back to watch in awe as they carried the chorus, the entire arena alive with the kind of love that made my chest ache.
When the final note faded, the applause was deafening. I bowed, my throat tight. "Thank you," I managed, voice cracking. "This is everything."
In the weeks that followed, the song skyrocketed—topping charts, flooding social media, turning into an anthem. The money rolled in: brand deals, sold-out tours, royalties. But none of it compared to the rush of standing on that stage, or the quiet moments after, wrapped in the arms of the man who'd never stopped believing in me.
My Daniel.
