The bright blue sky, the happily chirping birds, the children laughing, the warm sunrays that warmed the winter sky. Everything seemed perfect today. Well everything... except Jimin's life
Jimin repeatedly slammed his head on the steering wheel of his car, making the horn honk again and again.
" You idiot! "
He slapped himself in vexation. He let out a low tired whine, still continuing to bang his head a few more times before it finally started to hurt and he had to stop himself.
The die was already cast, words were already spoken, there's no turning back now. And neither is he the kind of person who goes back on his words unlike /Min Yoongi/. He wants to show him that he's nothing like him.
Stepping out of his car he acted like he wasn't just bawling and screaming a few seconds ago. He adjusted his clothes to look somewhat presentable, not wanting to leave a bad impression on the little boy.
A sigh escapes his lips as he looked at the apartment building in front of him. There's no going back now..
Yoongi was already home to pack his and Yoonjun's things. Now, all Jimin had to do was to pick Yoonjun up from here.
This is the third time Jimin's visiting Yoongi's place in a week, he doesn't even visit Taehyung's place this frequent.
Ah, thinking about Taehyung... he remembers he hasn't told him about all this, since his best friend is on yet another vacation and Jimin doesn't want to spoil his fun by whining about his life.
" Oh you're here."
Yoongi opens the door and acts surprised when he saw Jimin standing there. Since he didn't actually think Jimin would come. He expected Jimin to be joking about it, but as he's seeing him here, in front of him, it seems like he wasn't joking.
Jimin steps inside, sensing the somewhat stressful atmosphere from the high pheromones, his eyes landed on the small figure standing in the corner. Yoongi saw Jimin looking confused so, he walk upto him to explain everything to him.
" He's mad that I'm leaving him behind."
Just as Yoongi said that, Yoonjun turned around from his before wall facing position to now look at his father now.
" You're bad appa !"
He says in an angry tone, his brows furrowed together and lips pouty. He stump his little feet on the ground. Jimin smiled on the inside because of his undeniable cuteness.
" Junie don't wanna be alone."
His big eyes started getting glossy as his anger turns into tears. And Jimin starts to panic, afraid the boy is about to burst into tears any moment now.
" Baby, I told you, you won't be alone. Jimin is here to take you to his home."
Yoongi bends in front of Yoonjun, his hands gripping Yoonjun's shoulder to stop him from turning away from him.
" No, I don't wanna go!"
He closes his eyes, since he can't turn away now. He just don't want to look at Yoongi's face right now.
" Junie ah, you know appa wouldn't go on that trip if it wasn't important. Try to understand me please."
Jimin just watch the whole scenario while being frozen on his position, not knowing what to say. He has never dealt with a child before, honestly he's pretty impressed by how good Yoongi is at this.
" No, no!"
Yoonjun runs away to the corner again.
Yoongi wanted to chase behind him but Jimin stopped him this time.
" You should head out now if you want to catch your flight."
Jimin point at the clock reminding him how he's going to be late if he doesn't leave in the next 10 minutes.
" But Junie..."
Yoongi looks at Yoonjun and sighed. Jimin's right though.
" I'll bring our bags."
He went inside the room to bring his luggage and Yoonjun's bag.
" Hey, kiddo."
Jimin made his way to the child once he saw Yoongi left the room.
" You know how important this meeting is for your appa? "
The boy just stare at Jimin with his big eyes, partially because he's still afraid of him. It'll take him some time to be comfortable in Jimin's presence.
" If you keep acting like this then your appa won't go. And then he'd ... lose so much money."
He tried to put forth everything in such words that'd be easier for the child to understand.
" Would you want that? "
He looks at Yoonjun with his intimidating eyes, making him gulp. He really needs to work on his expression and tone around Yoonjun.
" No..."
Yoonjun says in a quiet tone and looked down at his feet.
" Then let your appa go. I'll take you to my home-- there you can watch TV all day if you want."
Jimin have seen how adults bribe children like this in the dramas so he decided to use the same technique. The children usually seem happy by the offer but not Yoonjun. He looks at Jimin with an annoyed look.
" No! Appa said it'll hurt Junie's eyes."
Jimin rolled his eyes at that. It's really hard dealing with a child. Especially Yoongi's child.
When Yoongi came back, Yoonjun instantly ran to him and hugged him. Yoongi was shocked as to what happened in the small interval of time, he looked at Jimin who just shrugged his shoulder at him.
" Appa, come back soon. Junie will miss you."
Yoongi took his hand off his luggage and instantly picked up his son. Getting teary eyed himself. It's the first time he's ever leaving Yoonjun without him. First time since Yoonjun was born.
He has never been away from his son for so long, the office hours are enough burden for his heart, he doesn't know how he'll survive the next few days without Yoonjun.
He knows he'll be restless without the other piece of his soul, but knowing that Yoonjun will be with Jimin brings him at peace. Even though Jimin might not like him, he knows he'd never hurt Yoonjun or let anything happen to him.
" I'll try to come back as soon as possible. Appa can't live without you, baby."
He rubs his hand over Yoonjun's back and the child also gripped him tightly. Having a hard time separating from each other, since it's going to be their last hug for some time.
Jimin cleared his throat to gain their attention. Yoongi was so busy in his world that he almost forgot Jimin was standing there too.
Jimin's heart swelled up and clenched at the sight, making it hard for him to stay there. But he still acted like he was fine, like he isn't so close to cry at how he could have had it all. Like how close he was to have this life.
" Yoonjun ah, don't cause any trouble in Jimin's house and be a good boy. I'll be mad if I hear a complaint about you."
He warns the kid, even though Yoonjun doesn't need any of that. He's usually a shy kid when he visit someone else's place.
" Don't worry appa, Junie's a good boy."
The kid assures his father with a proud smile.
Once they had their father son moment, Yoongi turned to Jimin, handing him the little spiderman suitcase that had all his things that Yoonjun might need in them.
" Here, I've packed his clothes and his school uniform in this."
" He need to reach the school by 9 o'clock, I'll message you the address."
Jimin just nods to all the information he was being fed.
" He usually isn't a picky eater, but you have to force him to eat vegetables or he'll avoid them. And if he behaves well you can give him a candy as a reward."
" He doesn't handle spicy food that well. He catches cold very easily so, don't let him play outside for too long and oh he should be in bed before 10 pm and-"
" You don't have to rub it in my face that I don't have a child."
Jimin suddenly blurted out because of his frustration, his mind too empowered by his negative thoughts to think straight. He misunderstood Yoongi's sincere words for mocking, something he has been tending to do a lot lately.
" I'm capable of taking good care of a child even if I don't have one of my own."
Once he's done saying his heart's words, then only he looked up to see Yoongi staring at him with worried eyes along with Yoonjun's scared one.
His heart drops when he realize what he just did, he lost control over his emotions. It was completely unintentional. It's just that seeing Yoongi with Yoonjun might have triggered his hurtful memories. So, he lashed out as a way of protecting his weak heart.
" Jimin ah, I didn't mean it like that-"
Yoongi's guilty tone made Jimin realise how far he went today. He took his anger out on Yoongi when it wasn't even his fault in the first place.
He backed down noticing Yoongi walking towards him. He started feeling so guilty.
" Sorry I just-"
He sucks on his bottom lip not knowing what to say next.
" You're getting late, just text me rest of the things."
He takes the luggage from Yoongi's hand forcing a smile on his face.
" Let's go, your appa is getting late."
He started walking forward, stopping by at the door for Yoonjun to come join him.
" Bye appa, take care."
Yoongi was still in shock with Jimin's outburst when Yoonjun voice brought him back to the real world.
" You too, baby."
He placed a kiss on Yoonjun's forehead before the boy ran towards Jimin's side.
Jimin had already walked away from there but then suddenly came back. He didn't look at Yoongi but Yoongi knew he had something to say.
" Have a safe flight."
He says hurriedly and then ran away from there before Yoongi could even thank him. The thought that Jimin still cares about him made Yoongi smile a little.
He made a mental note in his mind to have a conversation with the younger when he comes back from his trip and mend their broken relationship.
