" Jimin ah, I told you not to use phone when we're eating."
Jihoon scolds his son, seeing Jimin busy on his phone and not even touching his food. He has observed that his son has been spending a little too much time on his phone nowadays.
" Sorry."
Jimin gave him a smile, accepting his mistake. He was about to turn off the phone when he sees a new text message from Yoongi.
He thought about opening it later but his brain couldn't win with his heart. So, he ended up opening it. It was a picture of Yoonjun, who had his nose scrunched cutely while refusing to look into the camera for the picture.
' He said he misses you '
The message read.
Jimin has to stop himself from blushing on reading that. His heart fluttered on seeing the message. He missed Yoonjun too, even though they just went for lunch today. He still missed him.
" Jimin ah."
Jihoon says again and this time Jimin finally puts his phone down not wanting to upset his father real bad.
But it wasn't too long until his phone started buzzing, Jimin was going to ignore it but when he saw Yoongi's name he stood up from his chair.
" Jimin ah, where are you going? "
Jihoon asks in a soft tone, worried something serious might have happened for him to stand up in the middle of the dinner. But when he saw the happiness on Jimin's face his anxiousness was replaced by suspicion and confusion.
" I'm full, dad! "
He shouted before running upstairs to take the call. He was too happy with the call that he didn't even spare his father a glance.
Once he enters the vicinity of his room, he locked the door behind him. Running towards his window so, he could stare at the night sky while talking to Yoongi.
He finally picks up the call on its last ring.
There were no words exchanged for sometimes, both feeling nervous and timid. If it was anything like before, Jimin would have responded with a grumpy 'what?'
But things have changed now. Changed for the better.
" Hey..."
Finally Yoongi initiates the conversation.
" Hii."
Jimin replies, bubbles popping up in his stomach. He thinks this is the same feeling he experienced while talking to Yoongi on the phone for the first time.
" Hope I'm not disturbing you."
Jimin takes a seat on the edge of the bed to calm down his racing heart.
" Don't worry, you're not."
Well, he actually did disturb him in the middle of the dinner but Jimin wouldn't mention it to Yoongi and make him feel guilty over it.
" Uh, so you reached your house safely ?"
Jimin laughs at Yoongi's question. He can feel the nervousness in Yoongi's brain that's making him say anything.
" Of course I did."
The office hours end at 5 pm and currently it's 9, of course he had reached his house.
" Oh, yeah."
" So, why did you call me? "
Jimin asks coming to the point. Yes, there's improvement between them, but he knows Yoongi wouldn't call him at such time without any reason to do so.
" Oh actually... There's this sports meet in Yoonjun's school this weekend and-"
" Junie wants Jiminie to come."
Yoonjun taked the phone from Yoongi's hands and completes his sentence.
" Hey baby, I didn't know you were on call too."
Jimin's voice turned more softer as he talks to Yoonjun. He has yet to notice this change in himself.
" He's the one who made me call you at such a time. I told him I'll ask you in office tomorrow but-"
" No, I wanted to ask Jiminie right now."
Jimin laughs how Yoonjun cuts Yoongi in between everytime. He can imagine the sulky look on Yoongi's face because of that.
" So? "
" Huh?"
Jimin was too busy smiling at them that he for a second forgot what they were even talking about.
" Will you come? "
Yoongi asks in a low voice.
" Please Jiminie."
Yoonjun's voice is more confident in compare to Yoongi's.
Jimin can easily sense Yoonjun's pleading gaze through the screen. He don't need to see his face to know what kind of mood he is in.
" Only if you're free."
Yoongi adds so it won't seem like Jimin is pressurized to say yes. Yoonjun surely gave him a side eye at that.
" Of course, I'll come."
" Yeah!! Jiminie is the bestest."
Yoonjun's excited cheers are followed by the sound of bed creaking and Jimin can almost see the boy jumping right in front of his eyes.
" And what about appa?"
Yoongi asks getting a little jealous. Yoonjun stops jumping at that and rushes to hug his father.
" You're the second bestest."
He says the words so sweetly that even the second title doesn't upset Yoongi. Well, he's glad to be second to Jimin.
" You don't have to come if you're busy, I'll make up an excuse for him."
Yoongi turns the speaker off and goes to a corner to talk with Jimin privately.
" It's just a simple sports meet after all."
Even though he's saying all that, he really hopes Jimin would come. Partially because Yoonjun desperately wants Jimin to be there, and partially because his heart too wants a reason to meet Jimin.
" Mr. Min it seems like you don't want me to be there."
Jimin uses the tone that he uses in office. It's very hot, according to Yoongi.
" I didn't mean it like that."
" Just tell me the time. I'll be there."
Jimin says before Yoongi could become more anxious.
" Jimin ah. Thank you."
He feels the sincerity in Yoongi's voice. The alpha might think Jimin is doing it out of pity for his son, but in reality Jimin is as much happy as Yoonjun to be invited to it. He feels like he's an important person in Yoonjun's life too. Because Yoonjun and Yoongi are already an important part of his life.
" Ah, I'm taking too much of your time. I should hang up now."
" Good night Jiminie! "
He hears Yoonjun scream from behind.
" Night baby."
" Don't stay awake for too long."
Yoongi says before hanging up. His simple sentence made Jimin feel warm from inside. He thinks he wouldn't be able to sleep now, his brain would stay away night-dreaming about Yoongi.
This call made Jimin dive into another memory of his past. It was after their first date where just like today, Yoongi had called him out of the blue.
" Jimin ah."
" Hyung? Are you okay? Why are you calling me at such an hour? "
Jimin wasn't asleep but he was lying on his bed for so long without saying anything that his voice became a bit hoarse.
" I'm sorry."
" Huh? "
" I'm sorry for ruining our first date."
Yoongi's voice was deep and low with no sign of sleep in it. Probably the alpha couldn't sleep with all those thoughts in his head, that's why he called Jimin in the middle of the night.
" I actually wanted to look good to impress you, but I couldn't find anything nice to wear. It was hard to choose one so I just went with something casual."
He shares the first thought, about his regret for not showing up well dressed while Jimin came all dolled up for him.
" Hyung, you looked good in that too."
For Jimin, Yoongi doesn't need to wear a suit and tie to look handsome; his simple clothes are enough to race Jimin's heart.
" And then the aquarium being closed. I wanted to show you dolphins that you really wanted to see. But I wasn't able to do that..."
Yoongi had asked Taehyung for some ideas and he suggested the aquarium because Jimin wanted to see the dolphins. If only it wasn't close... he could have fulfilled jimin's wish.
" Hyung it's not your fault that they were close."
Yoongi shook his head to that, he knew it wasn't his fault but he still blamed himself for it.
" And then the restaurant-- I took you there because I heard the food is very nice. But even that had to be so crowded today."
It's like the heavens wanted to test him today, nothing went according to what he has planned for their first date.
" I'm sorry, we should've gone to someplace else. You had to eat spicy food even though you don't like it, because of me."
" It was tasty though, a little spicy but still tasty."
Jimin adds a little chuckle in the end, his tongue still burns from all the spiciness but that doesn't mean the food wasn't tasty.
" And then when I thought nothing can spoil our walk it started raining."
" But because it rained we got to watch a rainbow together while holding hands."
His sentence stopped Yoongi for a second, maybe the alpha was thinking how Jimin can be so optimistic in a situation like this.
" And lastly, I'm sorry for not reciprocating your feelings earlier."
" You don't have to be sorry for that."
Even though Jimin was very upset at that time, it doesn't affect him anymore because now Yoongi reciprocated his feelings.
" No, you don't understand ! I-i liked you since the first time I saw you in the cafeteria."
Jimin was left speechless by that revelation. So, Yoongi liked him since the day one? How was he supposed to react to this information?
" I know it's cliche but it was love at first sight."
Yoongi giggles cutely at the end and Jimin finds himself falling more for him.
" And then you started to make it obvious that you have a crush on me too and I started to panic."
" I was afraid that you were too good for me so I kept ignoring your signs."
" Hyung, you're such an idiot."
Jimin finally says after everything settles in his brain. Yoongi is a fool, a fool who's deeply in love with Jimin.
" I know."
He whole heartedly accepts, since there's no denying in that.
" But then the thought of you with someone else awakened something inside me and my alpha got really possesive. And I knew I couldn't hold it in anymore."
Just thinking about it hurted Yoongi, so he couldn't imagine how he'd have reacted if Jimin really started going out with someone else.
" Hyung, you're so cute. You called me in the middle of the night to confess your love."
Jimin's happy mood seems to illuminate the night sky even more.
" And to apologies for our date too."
" I won't take your apologies because I don't have a single regret. It was a really memorable day for me."
" My hand still feels warm since you held it."
They both look at their hands at the same time and close their eyes to feel that moment again.
" Then I'll make sure to hold it every day."
Yoongi says gaining his confidence back.
" Hmm, for how long? "
" Till you get bored of me."
" I will never be."
" Nor me."
