It's been a month since their late night conversation and since Yoongi started to persuade him. They've been on many dates by now and each one opens the door to Jimin's heart a bit more.
Their relationship seems to get better as they let their love and time heal them, but the fear of getting hurt is still there present in one corner of Jimin's heart.
And even though he's ready to let go of that fear now and give Yoongi a second chance; he knows there's some important things that they need to clarify first.
He doesn't think he can go on longer without knowing the truth behind Yoonjun's father, even though it won't change a single thing about their relationship dynamic,it's something that Jimin can't move forward without knowing.
And there's something else too...
Something he's been trying to forget for years now. Something he's been turning a blind eye to and act like it never happened, but he knows he can't go any longer like this.
He need to address it, he needs to talk it out with Yoongi and that would be the only possible way for him to be free.
Today is one such day of their many dates. Yoongi has called Jimin over for a homemade dinner. But Jimin has more plan than that, he wants to untangle the rest of the knots tonight. So, they can finally move ahead for a fresh start.
And for them to have such conversation he knows they need to be alone to be honest with each other.
" Taehyung ah."
He calls his best friend and saviour in a desperate tone. In time like this, no one else but Taehyung comes to his mind.
" Hello, my dear soulmate."
Taehyung replies in a cheerful voice, he has been like that nowadays because of Jungkook's presence in his house. And Jimin always makes fun of him by saying how much whipped he's for the omega.
But honestly, Jimin is happy. He is very happy that Taehyung has Jungkook now. That Taehyung found someone who can make him happy too.
And the way Jungkook makes taehyung happy without doing much, Jimin can't wish for anything else. He just wants Taehyung to express his feelings already, and hopes that Jungkook doesn't let him down.
" What are you doing? "
He sees Taehyung is wearing the shirt that he has gifted him on his previous birthday. And Taehyung only wears it for special occasions.
" I was taking Jungkook out to watch a movie."
Taehyung replies giddily, he still can't believe that Jungkook said yes to watch a movie with him.
He knows it's not officially a date yet, but atleast he's getting closer to get a date. The awkwardness between him and Jungkook is fading up slowly and a beautiful friendship is blooming.
And that's the first step towards a successful relationship.
" What kind of movie? "
" R rated."
Jimin let out an annoyed sigh at that, his best friend can't stop joking even in serious situation.
" Tae! "
" We're going to watch a marvel movie."
He finally stops joking around, on seeing Jimin's annoyed expression. He's actually more of a rom-com person but if Jungkook's wants to see marvel then marvel it is. No questions asked.
" Oh perfect. Then book another ticket."
" Why? Do you wanna join us? But weren't you going to Yoongi hyung's house? "
The disappointment in Taehyung's voice is clear. Anyone can tell that he wanted to be alone with Jungkook.
" No. Not for me. For Yoonjun."
" Yoonjun? "
A sly smirk comes to his face but Jimin is quick to wash it off with his explanation.
" I need to have some serious talk with Yoongi and we can't do that if Yoonjun is present there."
Taehyung goes silent for some time after that.
" Hmm, that's true. Are you finally thinking about giving hyung a second chance? "
His voice is excited, feeling happy for Jimin. He knew Jimin wanted to give Yoongi a second chance too but was a bit afraid and he totally understood why would he feel like that.
" Yes, but first we need to talk about Yoonjun's other father .... and something else too."
Jimin bite his lips as he says those words. He knew he could have easily choose to not mention it to Taehyung, but for some reason he wants to. Maybe he'll feel less stressed later that way.
" Something else? "
" Something that you don't know."
Taehyung frowns at that. It's not possible that there's something he doesn't know about Jimin. They always share everything with each other, no matter it's happy or sad moments.
" What? There's something that I don't know? How can you do this to your soul mate."
Taehyung acts dramatically to that. But he's just acting that way, he doesn't feel the same way in real. He understands that if Jimin decides to keep something from him, it must have a reason behind it.
" Tae, it's- I'm sorry. I wanted to tell you about it but I couldn't just bring myself to talk about it."
" But once I'm done talking with Yoongi hyung, I'll explain everything to you too. Okay? "
He begs with Taehyung to trust him just this once.
" Okay! I'll call Yoongi hyung and tell him to dress up Junie."
When Taehyung doesn't say anything more after that, Jimin's mind starts to overthink.
" Are you mad that I hid something from you? "
Jimin asks with a racing heart. He knows Taehyung have all the right to act like that, but he still hopes that the alpha puts off it till Jimin tells him about the truth.
" I'm not. I know you'd never hid anything from me. And if you did you must have some serious reasons."
Taehyung have a smile on his face as he says that and a similar smile forms on Jimin's face on hearing those words. It made him realise how lucky he's with the people that surrounds him.
His loving dad, an understanding best friend, a lover who'll give anything to see him anything and the little Yoonjun that's his shining star.
" I'll wait for you to explain it to me. But first go to Yoongi hyung and make every thing right."
He holds out his fist to cheer Jimin.
" Thank you, Tae. I-i don't know what I would do without you."
It used to be only two person that mattered the most in his life before - his dad and Taehyung. But now two more persons have added into his list.
" You wouldn't be able to do anything without me."
Jimin nods at that, it's true. He wouldn't be able to do anything without Taehyung. He's truly his other half.
They're surely connected by the red string of fate, but they're more of platonic soulmates than lover. Their bond is truly beautiful, a bond that's free of worldly greed and expectations, a bond that's rare to find these days.
" Huh, Jimin ah? You're here early today."
Yoongi has a shocked expression on his face as he opens the door to see Jimin standing outside with a smile.
He thought Jimin would come at the usual time but the omega is early today and Yoongi has only started the preparations for dinner.
Jimin gave a nod before entering inside, it feels like a second home to him now that he comes here so frequently. He takes a seat on the sofa waiting for Yoongi to come and join him too.
" Aren't you gonna ask where Yoonjun is ?"
Yoongi questions with a suspicion, because usually the first thing that Jimin do whenever he enter their house is to look for Yoonjun.
" I know he's out with Taehyung and Jungkook."
" I was the one who asked Taehyung to take him along so, we could have a talk."
Yoongi doesn't seem surprised by his words and it made Jimin think if the alpha has already foreseen this.
" Hmm, you made a good choice."
Jimin waits for the alpha to come and join him on the couch but instead the alpha walked towards the kitchen, putting on the apron that he must have taken off before to attend the door.
" Before we have our talk can we have our dinner first? "
He asks from the kitchen, starting to place all the ingredients onto the counter top one by one.
" I have only prepared the ingredients, will you like to help me? "
" Sure."
Jimin gladly gets up to join him, even though he's not sure if he'd be much of a help to the alpha. Since he doesn't know much about cooking, while Yoongi is so experienced that he'd easily qualify for the job of chef in a top class restaurant.
" You stir the broth lightly while I add the ingredients to it."
Jimin nods at that. He can do that much, it's easy.
He continues to stir it with the ladle with utmost concentration while Yoongi stopped chopping the ingredients just to stare at him.
The moment felt very domestic to him, and he wishes that once the clouds of misunderstanding are away from their lives, these kind of moments will become a daily thing for them.
They didn't talk much after that until their dinner was finally over. Yoongi was so adamant on feeding Jimin first because he knows their talk might leave an impact on Jimin.
So, he wants to tell it to Jimin in the best way possible, though there isn't any way where he wouldn't hurt Jimin.
" Yoongi..."
Jimin finally says when Yoongi comes back after washing the dishes. They are alone now and Yoongi doesn't have any more excuses to delay their talk any longer.
" Was Yoonjun-"
He hesitates a bit in asking his question because it doesn't seem appropriate to him. But he needs to know, he needs to know what really happened back then.
" - an accident? "
He gulps after saying that. The words feel so wrong coming out of his mouth. He never wanted to call Yoonjun like that. But it was the situation that made him ask it.
Yoongi shook his head at the question and it gushes out all the air from Jimin's lungs, he feels like he's weightless. Even though Jimin already speculated that, it still hurt him knowing that the alpha did it all intentional.
Then Jimin finally stands up, walking towards Yoongi with slow steps. He stood in front of the alpha and finally dares to look up into his eyes.
" Then who is Yoonjun's other father? Tell me."
He puts his hands on Yoongi's shirt and gently grabs the fabric in his palm.
" I live in fear that one day he may come back to take Yoonjun from us."
After his father said all those things to him, that he can never take the place of Yoonjun's real father. He starts to think that it's all true.
Because like in his life nobody could take his papa's place, he thinks it must be the same for Yoonjun. Even though Yoonjun doesn't know who his real father is, maybe one day he'll get curious and demand answer.
" Tell me what would we do then ?"
He doesn't want to think about a situation where the omega comes back to take Yoonjun away from him and Yoongi. It hurts him so much just thinking about it, and how helpless he'd be in a situation like that.
" He won't, Jimin."
Yoongi replies gently, he wants to explain more than that but Jimin can see he's holding himself back from doing so.
" How are you so sure? I'm afraid that Yoonjun would not like us being like this. That he would want his REAL FATHER not me."
One single tear left Jimin's eyes. It's this fear of his, that gives him nightmare where a stranger suddenly comes into their happy life, and takes Yoonjun away from him.
And he won't be able to take another separation. It'd break him down to his lowest, now that he starts to love Yoonjun like his own child.
" Jimin ah, he loves you. He loves you more than me."
Jimin shakes his head, Yoongi is going off the topic and he doesn't want that. Yoonjun might like him but it can never top his love for his parents.
" Why don't you tell me about his omega father? What are you hiding from me hyung? "
He shakes Yoongi lightly, looking up into his eyes. And Yoongi has that same helpless look in his eyes that makes Jimin sigh.
" Fine. If you don't wanna talk about this right now--"
He looks down at his feet, biting down on his lips to keep the sobs away for some time. He tries to gain all the confidence that he had in him. It's hard for him, but he needs to do it...
" - don't you think there's something else too that we need to talk about, Yoongi ? "
" I still remember. Do you? "
