It's almost been a week since Jimin came to Taehyung's house, a whole week that he has spent in Taehyung's house.
But Taehyung has only seen Jimin a few times. The omega has locked himself in the depths of Taehyung's room.
He still feels the same as the night he heard the most shocking news of his life. After all it'll take him a long time to process something big like this.
He keeps himself isolated most of the time in Taehyung's room and goes outside only once or twice to have meals, that too because Jungkook and Taehyung force him to eat. Even his appetite has gotten smaller and it makes Taehyung and Jungkook worry about him.
" Hyung, didn't eat today too? "
Jungkook asks when he sees the alpha coming back with the plate still full with food in Taehyung's hand. It's in the exact same state Jungkook has given to him, not even a single thing is touched out of it.
Taehyung shakes his head to that, taking a seat opposite to Jungkook. He puts the tray down to hold his head in between his hands.
He looks at Jungkook with a helpless look in his eyes, he feels so vulnerable not being able to help Jimin.
He sees it day and night the internal struggle that his best friend is going through, but even then he is unable to help him.
Jimin had now completely isolated himself from his father, who before he couldn't spend a day without talking to. His phone is dead by now because of not being charged, ot is forgotten at one corner of the room. And he has specially asked Taehyung to not touch the object because he doesn't want to talk to anybody right now.
Even his father shows up everyday in front of Taehyung's house and begs to talk to jimin.
But Jimin is adamant on his decision, he isn't going to waver by the mere apology of the person who ruined his whole life.
Jimin had asked Taehyung to send him away everytime when the old man shows up. He doesn't even go there himself to greet him. He knows his anger would bursts out of him if he met him with his current mental state.
The hatred in his heart wouldn't go away just by apologies. His father ruined his life and no amount of pleas can soften his heart now.
And about Yoongi and Yoonjun... Jimin has been trying not to think about them, but that's the hardest task when that's all that he ever thinks about.
Jimin is afraid to still acknowledge Yoonjun as his child, he's afraid of the hurt he'll experience because of it and he doesn't think he's ready for it yet.
He needs to prepare his heart, to first acknowledge the fact that the child he has been mourning over is not dead and that Yoonjun is that child.
By now Jungkook has somewhat understanding of what is going on too. From all the things happening around him, Jimin crying when he shared his experience about his family, his father showing up everyday but Jimin refusing to see him. He has connected the dots that Jimin's father is the one behind it all.
He has trust on his Yoongi hyung that he would never take such a drastic step that could affect his lover's or his child's life.
As an omega himself, it tears Jungkook from inside as he just imagined what Jimin has gone through. Living through the hell of losing your child only to know a few years later that your child is alive.
He feels sorry for Jimin and has developed a likewise dislike for his father. He doesn't think anyone in this world deserve a parent like that. Even if it might have looked okay in his eyes, he still had no right to destroy Jimin's happy life like this. He doesn't have any right to be called a father after what he did.
" What about Yoongi hyung? How is he? "
Taehyung asks about Yoongi for the first time after everything that had happened. He still feels like it's Yoongi's fault too and he still blames him from keeping everything secret from Jimin.
" Yoongi hyung.... he's the same as Jimin hyung."
Jungkook sighs, he visits Yoongi everyday to see how he's holding up. And honestly seeing his state adds more to Jungkook's worry.
Jimin and Yoongi are like one soul in two bodies, they both have been going through the same pain and grief and it can only be overcomed if they both talk. But that's something that one can't force them too and they'd eventually do it once they are ready.
Even though communication is the key to a healthy relationship, sometime one might needs a bit of time to sort out their thoughts first so, the conversation won't take a wrong turn and end up messing things up.
" He spends most of his time in the office to keep himself busy."
It's a way most people opt for when they're trying not to think about something in particular and Yoongi has been trying to do the same. Even though he doesn't succeed in that.
"-I know he's been dying to talk to Jimin hyung but he respects his personal space."
He sees the alpha always checking his phone like he's waiting for Jimin to initiate the conversation so, he could just run to him.
" He's been holding himself back and it's clearly hurting him."
He sees how Yoongi seems to be lost in his thoughts when he's sitting alone. His eyes stare at nothing, but jungkook knows he's dreaming of Jimin.
" But he has Yoonjun to take care of him."
Jungkook smiles while mentioning that. He was afraid that Yoongi didn't have someone like Taehyung so it would be a little harder for him.
But once he saw, the way Yoonjun took care of his father, making him eat his meals properly, trying different tactics to make him smile, and always giving his father hugs when he's a bit down. Anyone can see how nicely Yoongi has raised Yoonjun even as a single parent.
" Yoonjun..."
Taehyung trails off, just thinking about the boy makes warmth bloom in his chest. Every memory he has with the child is full of happiness only. From their first meet to the night of the movie. The night before he came to know a big secret.
If he had known before that Yoonjun was his nephew he would have showered him with a bit more love and held him a little tighter in his arms.
" When I first met him, Jimin made me act as his uncle. But I never knew that he was really my nephew."
He chuckles, even Jimin hadn't foreseen how the events would turn out. But maybe their destiny was always supposed to make them come back to each other.
" If it shocked me so much, I just don't know what Jimin is going through. More so because the betrayal came from someone so close to his heart."
It's clear how hard it's for Jimin to deal with everything. If the events have unfolded one by one then maybe it'd have been manageable.
But getting to know everything all at once was something that affected Jimin to his core. He needs much time to come to term with everything from his child being alive to it being Yoonjun and from Yoongi being forced to leave him to his father being the one behind it. It'll take a lot of time.
" How's Junie doing?"
Taehyung asks about Yoonjun worried that being the smart child that he is, he must have sensed that something is wrong too because of Jimin not coming to meet him and Yoongi's weird behaviour.
" He's all sulky and pouty. He wants to meet Jimin hyung."
Yoonjun has whined to Jungkook many a times to take him to Jimin. And Jungkook almost gave up and decided to bring him along but Yoongi didn't approve of that.
" I understand how he must be feeling."
He can feel the frustration the child must be feeling. After all he and Jimin were so close, he doesn't know how revealing the truth of Jimin being his father would change their relationship dynamic. Would he easily accept it or would he take it the hard way?
" Hyung lied to him that Jimin is out of town. So, he asked to talk to him phone."
Yoonjun doesn't buy the fact that Jimin didn't call him for the whole week.
" He loves Jimin so much."
Jungkook states, the love the child has for Jimin is clearly visible in his eyes. The same love Jimin has for him.
" He do. I just hope when he comes in term with the truth it wouldn't affect their relationship."
" It won't, I'm sure. Yoonjun will surely understand."
Jungkook says with confidence, he have spent a long time with Yoongi and Yoonjun. He has basically seen the child grow up in front of him.
" He's such an understanding boy, isn't he? "
Taehyung has shine in his eyes as he says that.
" I wish I can have a son like him someday."
He adds with a shy smile, he knows it's not the time nor the best place to say such things but he just wanted to speak his mind.
" I would really like to have a son and a daughter. I would spoil them with all my love."
He has always been fond of children but sadly he didn't have any nephew or niece in his family before. But now he finally have a nephew and he's gonna spoil him to his hearts content.
" I can imagine that."
Jungkook adds with a smile but when he finds Taehyung staring at him, his big smile changes into a shy one.
" Do you want children too? "
Taehyung asks Jungkook. They don't know why they're having this conversation right now but it just flows off naturally between them.
Taehyung stares at Jungkook with his big eyes as if his life depends on this question.
" I never thought about it before but seeing the love between Yoongi hyung and Yoonjun it made me wish I had one of my own."
He had worked with many children because of his job, some were sweet and calm while others were naughty and mischievous. But that only made Jungkook to crave for one of his own, more.
" But I think it's too soon."
He comes off his dreamworld, having a child sounds great but maybe he's not ready yet.
" I don't even have a partner yet."
He adds with a chuckle, that's the most important step for having a child. He needs to have someone who loves him before he could plan about a family with him.
" Why? "
" Huh? "
Jungkook looks confused at the question.
" I mean you must have gotten a lot of proposals. Why are you still single? "
With a face like his Taehyung is sure he turns head wherever he goes. Even a confident man like him felt like he might not have a chance with Jungkook.
Jungkook turns his face away from Taehyung, feeling shy as he takes the statement as a compliment.
" I don't know, I feel like I haven't met a suitable alpha yet."
Sure, there were many proposals made not only from alphas but omegas too who sometimes would mistake him for an alpha because of his appearance. But he never said yes to anyone. Call him old fashioned but he still believes in those cliche destiny and fate things.
" Maybe you have but you haven't noticed it yet."
Taehyung says it so subtly yet so confidently that jungkook have to think if he's in wrong to take the double meaning out of the sentence.
" Why don't we do a movie marathon today to cheer up Jimin hyung's mood? "
Jungkook change the subject, he thinks he'd be as bright as a tomato if they continue their conversation.
" I don't think it'll work."
Taehyung gives up even before considering the idea.
" We should give it a try."
Jungkook pleads with his eyes, if food couldn't cheer Jimin up he thought atleast movies with a tub of ice cream will comfort him. He's speaking from his experience.
" Fine."
Taehyung is a goner for him, he'd say yes to Jungkook if the omega asks him to jump off a cliff.
" Jimin ah, can I come in? "
He knocks on the door, Jungkook gives him thumbs up from downstairs.
" It's your room, you don't need to ask my permission."
Jimin replies from inside, his voice a bit hoarse from not speaking for a long time.
" My room? It's basically your room now."
Taehyung says as he lets himself in. He's stepping here after almost a week since he has been using the guest room now that Jimin had made his room has his own.
He's hit by Jimin's heavy scent as he enters inside.
" And what is this? Are you a vampire who hates light or something? "
He look at the darkness the room was engulfed in, he didn't install so many windows for the room to be so dark.
" No! I'll perish! "
Jimin acts when Taehyung pulls the curtains aside, it brings a smile of Taehyung's face to see Jimin act like his usual goofy self even if it's for a little period of time.
" Stop being dramatic and come on."
He takes the cover off the omega's body and grabs his wrist gently, yanking his body to sit up.
" To where? "
Jimin asks with a pout, his eyes flutter softly while looking at his best friend.
" Jungkook has planned a movie marathon."
" Can I skip? I don't wanna be the third wheel."
Jimin whines but Taehyung has promised him Jungkook already to bring him so he can't go back on his words.
" NO!"
" Come on."
" Fine, I'm coming. You'll dislocate my arm."
Jimin says as his friend continue to drag him down against his will.
" Jimin hyung, you're here! "
Jungkook jumps happily when he sees Jimin coming downstairs. He claps like a happy child making Taehyung smile too.
" See, I told you. He can never say no to m-"
" He basically dragged me here against my will."
Jimin cuts him in, rolling his eyes at his best friend.
" Let's all cuddle up on the couch while watching the movie."
Jimin doesn't have the heart to say no and break Jungkook's heart. If this make both of them less worried about him, he'll do it.
They were only 10 minutes in the movie when the door bell rang. The smile from Jimin's face drained after that. He have a presumption who might be there and it has his heart racing.
" Tae-"
He starts, looking at Taehyung with his down turned eyes, he hold Taehyung's sleeve between his fingers.
" Don't worry, I'll go."
Taehyung understands what Jimin wanted to say and rushed to the door himself with angry footsteps.
When Taehyung didn't come back for a long time and neither his voice is heard Jimin starts to get worried.
" What's taking hyung so long? I'll check."
Jungkook says and gets up too.
But like Taehyung he didn't come back either and it left Jimin with a racing heart as he sat alone in that couch. He's afraid to know what's going on at the door for them to take this long and he have a feeling that it might be something bad...
