" Jimin ah, how much more time? "
Yoongi sighs looking at his watch, his feet taps in anxiousness as he waits for his lover and son to come out of the room.
Jimin starts to hurry up as he hears Yoongi's voice from outside calling him.
He finishes brushing up Yoonjun's hairs for the last time and starts to button up his shirt now.
" Papa hurry."
Yoonjun looks up at Jimin with his big eyes. His feet swinging in an attempt to contain his excitement.
" Just a bit, baby. "
Jimin can sense the restlessness in Yoonjun's voice, after all the boy has been waiting since so long for today and it's finally here.
His baby is getting a year older today, it's Yoonjun's sixth birthday and they're going out to celebrate his special day.
The excitement is a given after all it's the first time Jimin would be there to celebrate his birthday with him. And he'd have his favorite uncles by his side too.
And even though Yoongi would have been happy with a simple house party too, knowing Jimin and Taehyung, he easily agreed on their idea of a fancy dinner. It's the first time his whole family would be together to celebrate Yoonjun's birthday.
" Here, my handsome baby is all done. Give papa a big smile."
Jimin helps the boy out of the bed.
Yoonjun puts on his gummy smile similar to Yoongi, his fingers poking his cheeks aa he acts extra cutely in front of his father.
" Ahh, too much cuteness."
Jimin gasps at how much handsome his son is. He can be a child model if he wants too, he surely inherited all the good genes from Yoongi and Jimin.
" Junie got it from papa."
Yoonjun says proudly, he has heard his appa says things like this too many times, so it's a given he'd learn it from him.
" You're getting cheesy like your appa, hmm."
Jimin pulls Yoonjun's adorable cheeks. He had these same squishy cheeks when he was a kid, he thinks if his papa was here he'd compliment about the similarities between him and Yoonjun.
He'd have been able to tell stories about Jimin's childhood to Yoonjun and knowing Yoonjun he'd have loved every one of them. Since the child always like hearing Yoongi's childhood stories narrated by his grandparents.
" Can't believe you're already six. My baby is growing so fast."
Jimin wipes the imaginary tears off his eyes. His son is growing up so soon and it hurts him to think how he wasn't able to witness the most beautiful moment of his life.
Today is not only Yoonjun's birthday but it's the day he and Yoongi became parents too. And although he may have spent the past years trying to forget about this day to protect his heart from hurting, this year he's the happiest he's ever been.
Just as he was starting to get emotional for real, Yoongi enters through the door.
" Jimin ah, Jun ah, what's taking you so long? "
Yoongi finally decides to come inside the room to see what's making the two huddled up in the room for so long.
" Handsome boys take long time to get ready."
Jimin's mood changes as soon as Yoongi comes by, he stands in a sassy pose while saying that and Yoonjun doesn't waste his time in copying his papa. It's his favourite hobbies nowadays to copy his parents.
" You mean I'm not handsome? "
Yoongi's mouth open in shock, his eyes popping out making Yoonjun burst into big fits of laughter. Jimin wanted to laugh too but he didn't want to abandon the sassy role he was in.
Jimin steps closer to Yoongi, his hands on the black jacket with embroidered tiger he's wearing. It's the one Jimin has gifted Yoongi for his birthday. Well that's not the only gift he gave him but the other gift is something he can't share out in the open.
" You're not handsome, you're hot."
He whispers in Yoongi's ears, his lips so close to Yoongi's skin that the alpha was expecting a kiss that never came. Jimin is way too damn good at this teasing game.
" Papa what did you say? Why is appa's cheeks red? "
Yoonjun looked confusedly between his fathers, wanting to know what his papa said that his appa became a red tomato.
" Why don't you ask your appa himself? "
Jimin says turning to Yoongi with a smirk and the alpha looks at him like he's gonna eat him, in a quite literal sense.
" Jun ah, if you're ready go put on your shoes we have to leave soon or we'll be late."
Yoongi give him a pat on the shoulder to let the boy go out of the room and Jimin understand why Yoongi is doing so.
" Okay, appa! "
" Where are you going mister? "
Yoongi puts his arm out to stop Jimin from taking any step furthermore.
" I've to put my shoes on too."
Jimin puts on an innocent expression as he looks up, but the alpha doesn't buy his act.
" Oh, playing innocent now, are we? "
His arms slides down from Jimin's shoulder to his waist once he reached the desire area he pulled Jimin closer.
" What do you mean, hyung ? I'm always innocent. "
Jimin said but Yoongi isn't listening, his hands roam around Jimin's ass that looks more plump in the tight jeans he's wearing. He couldn't say anything about it before because Yoonjun was here.
" We can do this later, right now we have to go. Taehyung has already called me many times."
Jimin tries to push the alpha away knowing how long it'll take them to reach if they continued this little game of theirs.
" Fine, let's go."
Yoongi doesn't want to ruin the special day of his baby so he obliges easily. It's not like Jimin and his plump ass are going somewhere, he can have both of them once they come back.
" Wait-"
" Now, what? "
Yoongi turns around with a frown.
" Forgot my lip balm."
Jimin said with a seepish grin as he heads towards the dressing table to put on his favorite lip balm.
It's the same one that he used to use in college, he didn't change it since then because Yoongi said he liked the taste of it.
" Hmm, my lips look dry too."
Yoongi says, eyeing Jimin as he dabs the pink tint on his lips.
Jimin turn around after getting done, putting the stick out forward for Yoongi.
" You wanna try it too? "
Yoongi nods, walking close to Jimin. Jimin didn't think much of it, he thought the alpha was coming close to get the lip balm. But his hand was pushed away and before he could ask Yoongi why he was doing that he felt Yoongi's lips on his.
" It is indeed hydrating."
Yoongi smirks as pulls back and licks off the remnant of the cherry lip balm from his lips.
" YAH, MIN YOONGI! "
Jimin yells at the alpha as he is withdrawn from the shock. Months of living with the alpha and he's still not used to Yoongi's flirting.
" Yes, Jun ah we're coming."
Yoongi uses Yoonjun to escape from the situation, he dashes out of the room leaving a pink Jimin behind this time. He finally avenged himself.
" Ready to go, are we? "
Yoongi asks turning to look at Jimin and Yoonjun on the passenger seat. After taking so long to get ready they are finally ready to go on their way now.
" Yes! "
Yoonjun bounces on Jimin's lap, anyone can tell that he's the most excited. Afterall he's going to celebrate his birthday with his favourite uncle and grandparents.
" Are eomma and abeoji already there? "
Jimin asks, referring to Yoongi's parents as, his own. It warms Yoongi's heart to hear that.
He still remembers the first time he took Jimin to meet his parents. Yoonjun's vacation had started and Yoongi thought it'd be a nice time to pay visit to his parents since Yoonjun missed them very much and he ultimately had to officially introduce Jimin to his parents.
He was a little hesitant to tell it to Jimin because he thought that the omega might not be ready to meet his parents yet. But surprisingly Jimin was very excited after knowing they were going to Yoongi's house, he even started to pack his and Yoonjun's things that very day.
When they reached their house then only Jimin felt his nerves kick in, he pushed Yoongi and Yoonjun to the front and stood on the very back himself.
And when it came to introduction Jimin started to stutter out of nervousness, it made Yoongi's parent laugh and the boy was red from head to toe.
So, Yoongi's mother went to his side and engulfed him in a hug, it surprisingly calmed Jimin's all anxiousness in one go.
After that Jimin spent the whole night talking with Yoongi's parents, while Yoongi and Yoonjun were sent to their room to sleep early, saying it was a special bonding time just for Jimin.
And by the morning when Yoongi and Yoonjun came down with eyes full of sleep they were shocked to see how comfortable Jimin was with his parents now.
One side he was cracking jokes with Yoongi's dad while on the other side, he stood next to Yoongi's mother who was cooking and asked her to let him taste it first.
It made Yoongi feel like he was the one who has came to Jimin's parents house and not the other way around.
" Yeah, they reached already when you were getting ready."
Jimin frowns at that, he feels like the alpha is putting the blame of getting late on him.
" I need to look nice, okay! "
Even though this is not their first meet Jimin still feels like he need to leave a good impression on them.
They were not going to come here initially since they had some work in the town but Jimin with his constant pleading made them agree. Jimin wanted this day to be a very memorable one for Yoonjun and it wouldn't have been so if his grandparents weren't there.
" Don't worry, Taehyung and Jungkook must be taking good care of them."
Jimin shakes his head to that, that's not what he's worrying about.
" I know he'd take good care of them, but I don't trust Taehyung. He must be telling them my embarrassing stories."
The alpha knows way too much of his embarrassing secret and knowing his extrovert ass Taehyung would spill all his secret to Yoongi's parents even though they'd be meeting for the first time.
Yoongi laughs at the adorable frown on Jimin's face.
" It'll only make them love you even more."
There's no way things like this would value Jimin down in front of his parents if anything, it'd only make them love him even more. As if they don't already love him more than Yoongi.
In the subsequent years Yoongi's ranking has dropped from first to second and now to third.
" You don't understand, I wanted to create a good image in front of my in laws."
Jimin doesn't feel any hesitant in regarding Yoongi's parents as his in laws now. He knows that their future is guaranteed and there's no denying that they would officially become his in laws one day. Though he already treat them as if they were their own parents.
The love he gets from them make Jimin think how much happy his papa would be after seeing how loved he is. He can finally rest in peace after seeing his son was in good hands.
" Jun ah, don't squirm so much you'd ruin your papa's outfit."
Yoongi puts his hand on Yoonjun's legs to stop him. Jimin is a perfectionist who might ignore flaw in other things but not his outfit. He remembers how much time the omega has spent to iron these clothes and make all the creases disappear. Yet here Yoonjun is ruining all his hard work.
Yoonjun stops bouncing at that and sat on Jimin's lap like an obedient child instead.
" It's okay, baby. My outfit doesn't matter more than you."
Jimin runs his hand over Yoonjun's head and gave him permission to continue being himself.
Jimin could really care less about if he was ruining his clothes, he only cared about that big smile on his face.
" Yoonjun has really made you change so much. What happened to the Jimin I knew? "
Yoongi remembers the time where Jimin used to be so conscious about his outfit, yet right now that's the last thing he probably care about.
And the reason for his change? His little star.
" That Jimin has become a father now."
Jimin says proudly, he thinks of the title of a father as a big achievement in his life. Something he'd always be grateful for. He doesn't care how he used to live before because now it all has changed since Yoonjun has come into his life. His self centered world now revolves around Yoonjun and Yoongi.
" HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE BEST BOY! "
A loud scream is heard as they enters the restaurant. As if Taehyung's scream wasn't enough to scare them, the loud pop ups soon bursts to add more to it.
While Yoongi and Jimin stayed put with hands to their ears, Yoonjun escaped from their hold to enjoy the beautiful confetti falling on top of him. It was his Prince moment.
" Uncle Tae! "
After he's done dancing under the falling confetti, he runs into the arms of his uncle who's bending down with open arms, ready to catch him.
" The birthday boy is finally here. Oh my god, why are you so handsome? I think you'd even defeat me category of looks."
Taehyung gasps as he looks at Yoonjun. There's no doubt the boy is handsome but he looks more good looking after being specially styled by his fashionista father.
" What do you mean ? He has already defeated you."
Jimin adds from behind. Hearing his best friend's words Taehyung puts Yoonjun down so he could greet them too as it's a special day for the two parents too.
" Yah! Why was I not informed about the dress code? "
Taehyung puffs up his cheeks, feeling left out as he saw the matching outfits of the Min family.
" Dress code? "
Jimin looks confused at first but then he took a look at what they were wearing.
Jimin was wearing a casual white tshirt paired with black jeans and a black blazer. Yoongi was wearing a black turtleneck with black trousers and a gold embroidery varsity jacket that Jimin has gifted him.
Yoonjun was dressed in a white tshirt, black joggers and a basketball jacket. Of course it seemed like they were in a dress code to Taehyung because they were so coordinated.
" It wasn't intentional."
Yoongi adds, he's shocked himself too how he's just noticing the similar pattern of their clothes.
" Uncle ggukie."
In between their conversation Yoonjun manages to escape from Taehyung's hold to go to his uncle ggukie.
" Happy birthday, my baby."
Jungkook giggle as he feels Yoonjun nuzzling his head on his nape, his hairs tickling him.
" Junie not a baby anymore, Junie is a big boy."
The says proudly, he has been telling his parents for a week now how he would be a big boy after turning six.
" No, you'll always be a little baby for me and your uncle gguk."
Taehyung adds from behind. Even when Yoonjun would be getting married Taehyung would see him as his little baby.
" Jun ah~"
Yoonjun's head shot up as he hears the familiar voice. Jungkook easily let him down so he could meet his grandparents now.
" Halmeoni! Harabeoji! "
He ran towards them with big steps, not being able to contain his excitement. He was seeing them after so long.
" Aigoo our little baby."
Mrs. Min picks Yoonjun up in her arms, swaying him lightly as Mr. Min patted the boy on his back. Yoonjun had his one arm around his grandmother and the other one holding his grandfather.
" Junie missed you both."
Yoonjun breaths out amidst his happy tears. His grandmother has similar tears as him. She doesn't like being away from Yoonjun too, but since they're old now it's hard for them to travel for a long time to come to Seoul.
And since Yoongi has his office and Yoonjun has his school they couldn't meet other than the few holidays that Yoonjun gets from school.
" We missed you too baby."
She starts to tear up but Mr. Min quickly wipes her tears away with his handkerchief.
The other two couples standing there cooed at that while looking at their partners, as if telling them how they wants a future like this too.
" Your son missed you too."
Jimin chimes from behind with a pout, feeling left behind.
Mrs. Min chuckles at that, passing Yoonjun to his grandfather's arms so she could hug Jimin.
" Aigoo, Jimin ah you've grown up so much."
Mrs. Min says fondly as she inspects Jimin's face.
Jimin's smile grew bigger on hearing that.
" Really? "
" No you're still short as ever."
Yoongi retorts from behind with a sly smirk.
" Hyu-"
Jimin was about to whine but he was cut in between by Yoongi's mother.
" Yoongi, don't tease my baby."
She says with a stern look on her face which made Jimin giggle. He pokes his tongue out at yoongi while hugging his mother. He feels like his inner child is unleashed whenever he's with Yoongi's parents. He feel safe and comfortable with that.
" But I'm your son too."
Yoongi whines from the side. It used to be just him who was the sole heir of his parent's attention before. But after Yoonjun came his value decreased immensely, his parents only called him to ask about their grandchild was doing.
But when Jimin came his parents stopped calling him altogether, Yoongi would often come come to find Jimin and Yoonjun cuddled up on couch while facetiming his parents.
" Look he's sulking, come here."
Mr. Min says seeing his grumpy son, he knows Yoongi was just putting on this act. Because as much as Jimin was happy with their love and attention Yoongi was too. After all he has always been their no 1 for years now.
" How have you been son? "
He asks engulfing his son in a bear hug. Yoomgi relaxes it feels nice, like all the heavy weight lifted off his shoulder just by one hug.
" Pretty good."
He smiles, staring at his father's wrinkling face.
" You look happier than before, Jimin's taking good care of you."
It was an observation he has made from the first time Yoongi told them about Jimin. He had the same smile while they were dating and the same smile when they reunited again. It made Mr. Min sure how Jimin was the only one for Yoongi. No one can bring the same smile on his face as him.
" He is."
Yoongi replies proudly as he watches Jimin making his way towards his father now.
" How's your back pain nowadays abeoji? "
" Your eomma keeps nagging me to take my pills even though they doesn't help."
" That's because you doesn't take them on time."
" Looks like Jimin is an official part of the Min family now."
Taehyung nudges Jungkook who seemed to be very lost in their conversations.
" Mmh the only thing missing is a ring."
Jungkook comments.
" Who needs a ring when they already behave like an old married couple? "
Taehyung rolls his eyes, but there's a big smile on his face. He may act like he's annoyed by all the love act between Yoongi and Jimin but on the inside he's very happy whenever he sees them being happy together.
" Then what do you two behave like? "
Yoongi scares them by suddenly coming from behind. His hand rested on their shoulders as he pulled them back towards himself.
Taehyung smiles at him like he's been caught red handed. He's very well aware of how he behaves around Jungkook. He still acts like he's in the persuading stage, cause he just can't believe Jungkook is his. He wakes up at night just to stare at a sleepy Jungkook to make sure he isn't dreaming and Jungkook has really became his.
The life after Jungkook has been so great that Taehyung doesn't remember how he used to live before. He started to regard his house as a home.
It took them a little time before they started sleeping in the same room. While some of Jungkook's things were still kept in his room, Taehyung has completely handed over the space to him.
They wake up in the morning tangled in each other's arms. The one who's in the mood for cooking cook the breakfast, after that Taehyung drops Jungkook on his shoot location before going to his work but sometimes he just accompany Jungkook for the whole day. He likes seeing the passionate side of Jungkook that's unlocked while he's taking pictures.
And well the paintings that Taehyung used to make before of Jungkook from his memory has turned into live paintings he makes of him while the omega models for him.
Overwhelmed was an understatement when Taehyung made Jungkook see his paintings, the omega was very happy. Probably because he was so used to capture other person's beauty through his camera but this was the first time someone caught his beauty too.
It only made jungkook fall much harder for the alpha.
" Hmm we're like highschool sweethearts."
Taehyung replies, sneaking his hand around Jungkook's waist. He pulls the omega closer and rest his chin on the shoulder.
" Couldn't agree more."
Yoongi replies while shaking his head. He thinks how they truly deserves each other and their love is so sweet it makes other people jealous. Not him thought he already has his dose of sweetness by his side.
" Okay okay, if the reunion is done let's celebrate my nephew's birthday first."
Taehyung claps to get everyone's attention, as much as he likes seeing Jimin laughing with Yoongi's parents there's something more important than that right now.
" You seem more excited than him."
Jimin comments, and its true too. He took all the charge of organising this party all by himself.
" That's because I am."
This is his only nephew that's we're talking about of course he'd be this excited. His only goal for today is to make this day a memorable memory in his mind.
" Our baby is loved by everyone."
Jimin says as he stands next to yoongi. The alpha put his arm on the small of Jimin's back.
" He's very loved."
Yoongi smiles while looking at their happy baby.
" Junie, it's cake time."
Taehyung says getting the child's attention as the waiter brings the cake right under the big chandelier.
" It's so big."
Yoonjun has his mouth wide open as, he stare at it. He looked back at his parents to see if it was really for him.
" Did you like it? "
Taehyung asks running his hand over yoonjun's hairs.
" It has Junie's favorite character! "
The boy jumps excitedly on seeing the top of cake having the pororo the penguin while the second layer had the rest of the characters of the show.
" Yes, I asked your appa about it."
Taehyung was so determined to give Yoonjun the best that he specifically asked Yoongi about Yoonjun likes and dislikes. Which he would have normally known about if he knew about Yoonjun being his nephew from the start.
" Come let's light up the candles."
Taehyung picks up the match box from the table to light them up but Yoonjun's grabbing hands stopped him.
" No."
" No? Why? "
Taehyung bends down to Yoonjun's level to understand the situation better. Was it something about the party that the child disliked ?
" There's someone missing."
He says with his lips curling downward.
On seeing his frown Yoongi and Jimin were quick to surround him.
" Who? "
Jimin asks worriedly. They have celebrated Yoonjun's birthday in the school separately this morning since he and Yoongi decided that his classmates would be able to enjoy that way. They did ask if Yoonjun wanted to invite someone else but he rejected the offer that time.
" Harabeoji."
The boy finally replies looking into Jimin's eyes and everyone went silent real quick.
No one made a noise and only looked at each other before Yoongi decided to intertwine.
" Jun ah."
He calls and the boy shifts his gaze from Jimin to Yoongi.
" Harabeoji came to Junie's school and wished him, he said he'd come to the party too."
Yoongi starts to visible sweat at that. Jihoon has asked Yoongi if he could meet Yoonjun for just one time. And after consultation with Jimin the omega agreed. He knows Jihoon kept Yoonjun away from him but he isn't as heartless as him to do the same. After all he had his papa's blood in him too that refused to turn him into pure evil.
Jimin only agreed with it since Yoonjun was starting to ask about his grandfather, since he had bonded quite a lot with him while his stay in Jimin's house. And he was already at the end with his limits.
So, he thought it'd be okay for them to meet as long as he doesn't try to pull any tricks. But this didn't mean he forgave him, he could never fully forgave him. But he wouldn't make the same mistake as his father. He's a better person than him.
So, with Jimin's permission Jihoon started to visit Yoonjun frequently but only at his school premises. He'd be long gone before Jimin comes to pick Yoonjun up and Jimin was so thankful for that, he wasn't ready to face him.
The smile on yoonjun's face as he told Jimin about his time that he spent with his grandfather was worth this difficult decision. As long as his son was happy.
" Ah he's busy, he wouldn't come-"
Yoongi tried to reason with Yoonjun. He couldn't just tell him the real reason behind it and he can clearly see how bringing this topic up has affected the mood. But it wasn't Yoonjun's fault since he didn't know about it.
" Then Junie won't cut the cake. I want harabeoji."
The boy turns around to go into a corner and sulk. Yoongi's parents hurried to his side to convince the child.
While Yoongi, Taehyung and Jungkook stood there to see how Jimin will react to all this.
" Yoonjun-"
" Give me your phone."
Jimin cut Yoongi off in between. Yoongi put his phone out in Jimin's extended palm.
Jimin unlocked the phone by his fingerprint and put in the oh so familiar digits. Even after all these months he hasn't forgotten the number. Since there were only three numbers that he has ever memorized. Yoongi, Taehyung and...
" Hello? "
Jimin hesitated for a second, pulling himself, he gripped the phone hard after hearing the voice that once used to calm him down on his bad days.
" It's Yoonjun's birthday today. He wants you to come to his birthday party."
A long pause, there were no sound of breathing, only silence which was later followed by inaudible muffles.
" J-jimin."
Jihoon cried out on hearing his son's voice after months. He has acknowledged his mistake and kept his distance from Jimin, he never expected to get a sudden call from him.
" The party is at Taehyung's family restaurant, we all are already here. If you can't come..."
" No! I-i'll be right there."
He replied instantly before Jimin could even complete his sentence.
Once Jimin heard those words he hung up the phone, giving it back to Yoongi and going to his son's side instead.
" Harabeoji? "
The boy asks innocently.
" He's coming."
Jimin replies trying to keep his expressions happy.
" Yeah! "
The boy jumps happily on hearing that. And even though Jimin hated how he had to reach out for his father again, he'd probably do it several times more if only it brought such a big time to Yoonjun's face.
" Jimin ah.."
Yoongi comes from behind and pulls Jimin to the side to talk with him.
" I couldn't make him upset on his birthday."
Jimin replies sensing what question Yoongi was going to ask. And Yoongi too sees how honest Jimin was. It has hurt him to do so but he still did it just for yoonjun's happiness. That's how much he loves him.
" You're very brave, baby."
Yoongi says, as he pulls Jimin closer to rests his head on his chest.
" You're okay with him coming here? "
Taehyung comes to Jimin too.
" He's Yoonjun's grandfather, I can't keep him away from his life."
/I'm not like him./ the line was left unsaid.
" When did you mature so much? "
Taehyung looks at Jimin with proud eyes, he has seen the transformation happen in him. He knows how much it hurt Jimin to call his dad again to make him come here yet he didn't care about his pain and did so just for his son.
" Guess it's a part of parenthood."
Jimin replies with a small smile. He had never thought he'd be the one to call his dad again, yet when it came to his son he didn't think about how much it'll hurt him, he just did it. For his son's happiness.
" Hyung, noona wants to talk to you."
Jungkook comes towards the two friend, holding his phone in the hand.
" Ah I forgot she asked me to call when Yoonjun comes. I'll take the phone to him."
Taehyung takes jungkook's phone and rushes to Yoonjun. His sister has asked him to facetime her once Yoonjun gets there. Initially Taehyung's parents and sister were going to come too, but they had to travel to Daegu for some reason so they weren't able to make it.
" Gguk ah, how's Hyejin doing nowadays? "
Jimin asks, once taehyung goes away leaving him and Jungkook alone. He and Jungkook has now become like real brother as time as made their bond stronger.
" She keeps telling hyung to take her to uncle kookie and uncle Tae's house."
Jimin smiles as he imagines that. He has met her a few times when she came to Taehyung's house. She has formed a good friendship with Yoonjun just in a few minutes and the two became inseparable.
Jimin has called Jungkook's brother to the party too but he had a surgery appointed for today, and Hyejin had a fever so she couldn't make it. Yoonjun was very upset at that but Sangmin promised he'd bring Hyejin to their house as soon as she gets better. That made the boy smile again.
" Hyung knows how to charm kids."
His eyes fall on Taehyung who's holding his phone so Yoonjun could talk to his sister and his parents.
Jungkook smiles bigger at that, suddenly remembering the time he met with Taehyung's parents for the first time. To say he was nervous was an understatement, it wasn't his fault that the tv dramas portray rich parents as evil people who only wants to marry their kids with people of their state and not anyone else.
Jungkook has already prepared a speech if Taehyung's parents would ask him to leave the alpha. Cause he has found his happiness for the first time in the world and he wasn't going to naive like the main leads in the dramas who'd leave their lover behind.
He walked into the big house ( even bigger than Taehyung's which he thought was massive), there were a number of servants that came to their service as they stepped inside but Taehyung dismissed them all and brought jungkook to the big hall that was way too big that jungkook thought he needs binoculars to find Taehyung's parents in there.
Taehyung has been squeezing Jungkook's hand as he brought the omega in front of his parents. Jungkook was the only person he has brought to meet his parents. Sure his parents knew about all his other relationships but he never brought anyone home.
When Taehyung's mother stood up from her seat and came forward jungkook has closed in eyes from the fear that a slap was coming but what really came was a big warm hug full of motherly love that he has never truly experienced with the words " Welcome to the family, son" following behind.
Jungkook found his family that day. A family that he knew that'll care for him and love for him, a family that he deserves.
And since then just like Yoongi's Taehyung's favourite son status has gone down too. Now Jungkook tops that list. He would feel like an outsider in his own house, because of Jungkook knowing more about what his parents are upto nowadays while he's completely clueless.
You can surely say that Yoongi and Taehyung has whined about that problem to each other. But they only pretend to be annoyed on the outside, on the inside they're the most happy people seeing the love their lovers are getting from their family.
" Harabeoji! "
Everyone stopped chatting when they heard Yoonjun call for Jihoon. Yoongi walked over from his parent's side to Jimin's, to hold him.
" Yoonjun ah."
Jihoon whispers back as Yoonjun came running to him. He was hesitant of touching Yoonjun at first because of what Jimin might think. But he didn't want to break Yoonjun's heart by rejecting the hug, so he wrapped his arms around him for only a fraction of time and pulled back even though his heart told him to hold on a bit longer.
" Harabeoji why didn't you come before? "
Yoonjun asks with his pouty lips, he has invited Jihoon for the party when he came to whish him at his school. But Jihoon was sure Jimin wouldn't like it if he came. As this was the day he has broken his son's heart, he didn't deserve to celebrate here with Yoonjun whom he try to keep away from his father.
" Ah, harabeoji was b-busy. Sorry"
Jihoon tries hard not to take his eyes off Yoonjun and look for his son. He hasn't seen Jimin in months and he thinks it's probably for the better.
" It's Junie's birthday today so he'll forgive you."
The boy says as he hugs Jihoon once again. He loves Jihoon so pure heartedly that it makes him even guilty of his actions. It makes him think how he could have had his son by his side today and a loving grandchild if only he didn't take that decision that ruined everything.
" Jun ah, come the cake is ready."
Taehyung calls for him, they're already late for the cake cutting.
" Let's go."
Yoonjun wraps his tiny fingers around and pulls Jihoon along with him.
Yoongi puts his hand around jimin's waist and walks forward towards the cake. Everyone else steps back letting the three come forward.
Yoonjun happily jumps on his spot aa everyone sings him a birthday song. Once the song ends, Yoonjun held Yoongi's hand with one hand and Jimin's with other as he blows the candles.
Jimin and Yoongi both feed yoonjun cake before smearing some on the child's face making him whine. Taehyung make sure to capture the moment, while Jihoon wipes his tears from his face with a smile. It's just that the scene reminded him when Jimin was little, he'd whine just like that when he or Hajun would apply cake on his face. They are really the same.
" Jimin ah..."
He whispers, not being able to take his eyes off his laughing son. He was wrong for not seeing the way Yoongi makes Jimin smile, if his vision wasn't blinded with hate at that time he'd have seen it.
" Now it's gift time. Me and your uncle koo has so many gifts for you."
Taehyung says once the cake cutting was done.
" Wait- can I go first? "
Yoongi steps in looking nervous. Taehyung raise his brow at that looking at Jimin if he knew what Yoongi had in mind but jimin is as clueless as him.
" But appa already gave Junie a gift."
Yoonjun says and looks at jimin. His papa and appa already surprised him with toys and clothes this morning along with tickets to Japan for their next trip thatche has promise before. He thinks that's enough of a gift.
And while the before ones were prepared with Jimin's consultant, Jimin has no idea about this one.
" I know baby, this gift is a special gift for you and your papa."
Yoongi says as he looks at the confused face of Jimin and Yoonjun.
" Come here, open it together with your papa."
He puts out a little rectangular box in the palm of his hand.
" Okay! "
Yoonjun brings Jimin with him and took the box from Yoongi's hand.
But his excited face turns into a frown as he finally opens the box. His eyes oogle out as he picks the little object out of the box.
" There's a key."
Yoonjun turns around so he could show the key to Jimin.
" A key? "
Jimin takes the key in his hands and then turns to look at yoongi for an answer. The alpha look at him with a smile as he replies.
" Key to our new house."
" Junie's new house? "
Yoonjun jumps happily after hearing that, he doesn't waste any time in going to his appa's side and giving him a thanking hug.
" I think it's finally a time to move into a big house."
Yoongi walks close to Jimin, the omega was still in shock because he had no idea Yoongi was planning all this.
Yoongi always had enough money to buy a house of his own than to live in that apartment. But he thought it would just be him and Yoonjun so the place was good enough for the two of them to spend their lives together.
But then Jimin came into their lives and made Yoongi think of finally getting a home of their own. A house that would be decorated by him and Jimin together, that would have both their elements, a house that'll see the new beginning of their lives. And as much as Yoongi would have liked to consult it with Jimin, he wanted to keep it as a surprise too. He loves to see the big wide eyes look on his omega's face.
" Wow, we're going to a new house! "
Yoonjun says excitedly breaking the loving stare between his fathers. Jimin always goes silent when something overwhelms him. He let's his expression show how he's feeling rather than expressing it in words. And Yoongi can read all that, the excitement the gratitude the joy. He can read each and every emotion of Jimin.
And he thinks how his emotions will continue to get more intense once he reveals the main surprise.
" There's one more gift, this one is specially for Jimin."
He says rubbing his neck nervously.
Yoongi takes a few steps backwards and brings his hand forward that were holding a velvet box in it. Jimin was so busy looking at the key before that he didn't see when Yoongi got the other box.
Yoongi kneels down on one knee and everyone knew what was coming. Only Yoonjun didn't knew so he looked at his uncle Taehyung to explain it to him.
" Yoongi..."
Jimin starts to tear up even before Yoongi has said anything. Even though he knew this moment will come one day that doesn't mean he'd be less emotional when it happens in real life.
Seeing the love of your life there on his knees proposing to you, it was something Jimin has dreamt off since he met Yoongi in college, this dream of his that faded away with time as their lives were shattered.
He never thought it'd come true, not until he met Yoongi again that day and they got second chance at their love. And now after all that roller coaster ride they're at the end point where their heart are beating fast from the adrenaline rush.
" Park Jimin-"
Yoongi starts with a confident tone, he has thought he would be nervous while doing all this but surprisingly it all fades away as he only sees Jimin standing in front of him and everyone else disappears.
" The love of my life, the light on my dark days, the reason I'm able to smile today, the person who made me the happiest person on earth just by your presence, the person whom I'm most thankful and sorry to, my beautiful omega."
He stops in between to huff a breath.
" I know, our lives has seen many ups and down, we have gone through so much and it always tears me apart when I think about the years when I wasn't with you. But it's in the past now, I can't change it. But I can make sure that in the future there wouldn't be a single day where we would have to live away from each other.
So, would you allow me to spend rest of your life with you as your husband? "
He manages to say this all in one breath while looking into Jimin's eyes. Yoongi has a pleasant smile on his face while Jimin on the other hand-
...he started crying the moment Yoongi addressed him as love of his life.
Jimin was so overwhelmed by the sweet words that he for a second forgot he was being proposed to and Yoongi is still on his knees waiting for an answer.
" Of course. I w-would love to."
He puts his trembling hand forward that stops shaking once Yoongi wraps his own warm hand around it.
Just as yoongi slides in the magnificent ring in Jimin's finger the omega came crashing in his arms. The silence was disrupted by cheers and loud clapping.
" Look at Jimin's crying face."
Taehyung teased Jimin as he made sure to capture the special moment for them, especially zooming on Jimin's face to get his reactions on cam.
" Congratulations, hyungs ! "
Jungkook elbows Taehyung to stop him from teasing Jimin. But the alpha doesn't listen to him, it's like he was born to tease Jimin.
Once Jimin calm down Yoongi's parents came there to congratulate them on officially becoming their son in law now, as if they already don't treat him as their own son.
Seeing the happy bright faces around his son, Jihoon starts to back away from there. His own eyes glassy after witnessing such a happy moment of his son's life. Though he kept feeling like he didn't deserve to be here. Since the cake cutting was done too, Jihoon thought it was the best time to go away since Jimin wouldn't appreciate his presence on his special day.
But as he turned around he was stopped by a little hand grabbed on his coat.
" Harabeoji why are you standing so far away? "
While everyone surrounded the couple yoonjun's eyes fell on Jihoon who seemed to be going away so he came to stop him.
" Ah, Jun ah why are you here you should be there with your appa and papa."
Jihoon bends down to yoonjun's level despite the shooting pain in his legs. He has already ruined this special day for Jimin and Yoongi by coming here, he doesn't want to further ruin it by keeping yoonjun to himself.
" But harabeoji is alone, everyone else has someone by there side."
Yoonjun is an observant child. He has easily seen the way everyone had their partner next to them but only his grandfather was the person who looked lonely. So, he came to give him company.
" Do you miss Hajun harabeoji ? "
Yoonjun's sudden question caught Jihoon by surprise. He was just thinking how Yoonjun reminds him of Hajun and now the boy even mentioned him.
" H-how do you know about him? "
" Papa told me. He said how much he loves him but his papa is in the stars now and he misses him so much."
He doesn't know why he thought Yoonjun wouldn't know about Hajun. Knowing Jimin he'd have happily told yoonjun about his late father and all the happy memories he had with him.
If only everything was fine between them, he and Jimin would have told about Hajun together to Yoonjun. He would have liked that a lot.
Thinking about Hajun, he thinks how different his life would be today if his mate was alive. There was no way Hajun would have let him spoil Jimin's life like that. And they both would have been together to watch their son grow into a parent himself.
" I miss him too. He'd have very happy today if he got to meet you, his grandchild."
Hajun has always loved kids. He has always talked to Jihoon how he wanted to have a big family. He complained how the house was too big for them and the only way that it'd feel more homely would be by the laughter of their children.
And even though jihoon wasn't initial very found of children. His opinion started to change when Hajun came into his life. And it was completely flipped over with Jimin's arrival. He was so happy that day, he was the happiest man alive when his son was put in his arms.
Their days got even better after Jimin's arrival and Jihoon saw how Hajun was right about the house being more lively with children.
It convinced Jihoon to agree to Hajun's wish of having a big family. But sadly Hajun was diagnosed with a terminal illness when Jimin was just a few years old. It shook their world apart but they still held onto the little hope that everything would be fine.
But as the years went by and Jimin grew up, Hajun's health started deteriorating too. And he knew he didn't have much time. He may not have gotten his wish to have a big family fulfilled but atleast he got to spend the last year's of his life happily with his mate and his son. That's the only thing that relieves Jihoon that Hajun wasn't in pain in his last moments and he went to heaven with a smile on his face.
Jihoon always things how happy Hajun would have been to become a grandfather, he thinks that he would have spoiled yoonjun so much and yoonjun would have loved him a lot too.
" He'd have loved you so much..."
" Harabeoji you're crying."
Yoonjun says putting his hand forward to wipe those tears away from his grandfather's face.
" Don't cry, Junie don't like tears."
" Jun ah, my Yoonjun. I'm so sorry baby. I'm so-"
Jihoon wasn't able to take it anymore, he hugged Yoonjun and started crying on his shoulder. No matter how much crying or sorry he says it won't change a thing, but Jihoon just feels like crying today, he feels relaxed with Yoonjun.
" Your harabeoji is so sorry, I should have never done that, I made you and my Jiminie suffer."
He cries louder and even though Yoonjun doesn't understand a single thing that's going on he tries his best to calm his grandfather down. He pats Jihoon's back with his little hands and try to shush him down like a baby.
" Jimin ah, you okay? "
Yoongi asks seeing the way Jimin was looking at the scene with tears in his eyes.
" Yeah, I'm fine."
Jimin turns sideways to wipe his tears off before he faces Yoongi with a smile.
" Should I call Yoonjun back if you want?"
Yoongi thinks Jimin was crying from the anger but the reality was different.
Jimin put his hand on Yoongi and intertwined their fingers.
" No, let him be. He needs Yoonjun right now."
Jimin isn't as heartless as his father. He can clearly see how vulnerable he is right now and if Yoonjun can make him feel much better he'll let Yoonjun do so. He wants his father to realise what a big mistake he had made by keeping Yoonjun away from him. Oh, how strong their bond could have been if he didn't made Yoonjun go away from his life.
" You're very brave, my omega."
Yoongi presses a kiss on Jimin's cheek making the omega smile.
" You already said that."
He puts his head on Yoongi's chest and relaxes. Yoongi has always been his safe place, the years of separate weren't able to change this thing.
" I wanted to say it again."
" My omega."
It has a ring to it that makes Yoongi's heart beat faster, it still feels unbelievable to him that Jimin is his despite all that had happened in his life. But he tries his best to forget the harsh past and live in the future instead.
Jimin is here, Jimin is his, what else does he need?
" Yours."
Jimin says as he looks at the ring. The ring that's a symbol that they belong to each other now, though their heart has belonged to each other for a long time now.
" Hyng, thank you for this. It's very beautiful."
Jimin says as he puts his hand on Yoongi's chest so the alpha can see the ring adorning his finger.
" It's not as beautiful as you."
Yoongi had a difficult time choosing one ring since since he thought that each and every one of them would look good on his beautiful omega.
" Cheesy alpha."
Jimin playfully hits him on his chest.
" You should have given me a head ups, you made me cry."
He pouts, feeling embarrassed now that he thinks about how he was crying like a baby in front of his son and his parents in law.
" Then I wouldn't have been able to see these real reactions."
Yoongi has choosen today as the day of proposal because he wanted to do it in presence of everybody that witnessed their journey.
" Appa, where is Junie's ring? "
Yoonjun comes to his fathers and says with a pout. You can tell he was upset that he didn't get a ring too.
" Your ring? You want one too? "
Yoongi picks the boy up in his arms.
Yoonjun nods to the question showing his empty fingers to him.
" Uncle Tae said appa gave papa ring because he loves papa. Appa don't love Junie? "
Yoongi looks at Jimin at that and they both started laughing at their son's cuteness.
" Oh, baby. Of course appa love Junie."
" Jun ah, how about we go tomorrow and get a ring for you? A matching one like papa."
Jimin suggested, seeing how happy the child got by the suggestion.
" Really? "
Jimin nods, grabbing yoonjun's hands in his and caressing them.
" Yes and we'll get one for your appa too."
" Why for me? "
" Because I want to make people know that you're already taken."
Yoongi laughs at that, his lover's possessive side is showing, not like he doesn't like that. He wants other people to know that he belongs to Jimin.
" Okay then we'll go ring shopping tomorrow! "
Yoongi announces.
" Yeah! "
Yoonjun starts bouncing in his arms. The two parents looked at their happy son and then at each other. They are each other's happiness.
