"Yeah, man. I think she'd love it." Felix said as he and Jisung stared at the ring.
With a big huff, Jisung pointed towards the ring. "I'll take this, please." He said as he took out his card.
The girl behind the glass hummed and placed the ring inside a black box. Jisung paid for it, the girl quickly putting it inside a paper bag before handing it to him.
"Good luck, sir." The girl cheered and bowed.
"Thanks." Jisung smiled. "C'mon Lix."
They pulled up their masks and walked outside the store, their manager silently following.
"Okay, okay. Did you send her the invitation yet?" Jisung asked as he placed his tuxedo on a hanger, his phone pressed between his ear and his shoulder.
"She did. We're about to go take her dress later." Chaemin answered from the other side of the line.
"Okay good. Thanks Chae." He quickly hung up the phone and walked towards their dorm's living room.
Hyunjin, Minho, and Changbin were in the kitchen busy cooking their dinner. Felix and Jeongin battled against each other on Mario Kart. Woojin was simply on his phone with a sleeping Seungmin on his shoulder. Chan however, was busy sending out the notifications and procedure of Jisung's poroposal to their staffs, guests, and idols. Yes, idols. Now, continue reading gosh dang it.
"Dang it!" Jeongin huffed as he lost the game, a wild (and happy) Felix giggling.
"Oh, hey hyung." Jeongin smiled as he noticed the boy standing behind them.
Jisung looked like a mess. His hair was like a bird's nest, sweat trickled down his forhead, and his shirt was all wrinkled.
Jisung huffed out an exhausted sigh, massaging his forhead slowly as he sat on the free small space on couch.
"How's everything going?" Jeongin asked while crawling towards Jisung.
"Everything's going well, i guess?" He replied. "I don't know. I'm probably just nervous?"
Jeongin grinned. "Don't worry. Everything's going to go great tomorrow. But for now, you should relax."
Jisung smiled at the encouraging words the maknae said. "Okay. Thanks, Innie."
Mio hung the dress on the hook beside her bed. She stood in awe, examining the expensive dress they got for free.
"Oh, wow. That's fudging gorgeous." Rachelle said, standing just behind her.
"I know, right? And guess what?" Mio chuckled. "Apparently, someone paid for my dress before I even got there."
Rachelle gasped, though it was fake. But she couldn't let Mio know that. "Damn. Really? Do you know who paid for it?" She asked, pretending to not know anything about the surprise proposal.
"I don't know either. The guy in charge said that the one who paid for it would have rather stayed anonymous." Mio said.
Rachelle nodded. "But don't you have any guesses?"
Mio pressed her lips into a thin line as she thought of the possible people who would've paid for the dress. "It could be Jisung."
Rachelle's eyes widened at the accurate guess. "W-why would you think that?" Unfortunately, she stuttered.
"Pft. I don't know." Mio laughed. "I mean, he is my boyfriend."
"Oh.." Rachelle gulped, not wanting to ask anymore questions that could lead to her spilling the surprise.
The clock struck 7:30 pm and the girls were ready to go. Every one were in their dresses and Mio was completely shook as to why she was the only one wearing a nude colored dress while the rest of her members wore nearly matching black dresses.
But she didn't get to ask the question due to her groupmates saying they were late and had to go.
And so they went.
Just like Jisung's plan, the place was packed with camera men, and fansites.
Even when the girls, except Mio, knew of the plan, the were still surprised as to how many people there were.
And the fact that the news of Jisung proposing wasn't scattered online.
Just like any ordinary award show, Idols came down from van to van and walked through the red carpet.
However, the other artists were wearing nothing but civilian clothing. This has also got Mio thinking. But she shook the thought away and just enjoyed the day.
And you bet she was gonna enjoy this.
Being the last group to walk through the carpet and enter the stadium, all eyes were on them.
Scratch that.
All eyes were on Mio.
This of course, made her uncomfortable. But yet again, she shook the thought away.
"Your seats are over there, miss. Someone will also guide you there." A staff said as she pointed towards the stage.
Mio just nodded, still feeling suspicious.
The girls sat right up front. Cameras were filming from everywhere, mostly pointed at Mio, and that didn't go unnoticed by her.
She felt the need to ask her groupmates, who were awkwardly and awfully quiet the whole time.
But she bit back her tongue when two figures showed up on stage.
"Welcome everyone, to XXX Award Show!" MC#1 cheered through the microphone.
"Now, let's start with Best Female Artist of the Year!"
Mio's eyes widened. Something was wrong and she knew it. Things didn't go like this so quickly. And she was really confused.
"Congratulations to the Best Female Artist of the Year," MC#2 said as he looked through his fake cards. "Park Mio of Playback!"
Mio gasped. "What now?" She asked as she looked at her group for answers.
The girls were giggling uncontrollably. "Go now! Go!" They pushed her towards the stage.
She felt weird but still smiled. Though her smile really looked awkward.
Her eyes scanned the entire venue as she got up the stage. There weren't any fans inside the stadium. The idol groups were wearing only civilian. And her groupmates were giggling. Something was off.
And so she pinched herself.
No. This isn't a dream.
She got to the two MCs who smiled at her sweetly and handed a trophy that they probably just bought from a nearby shop.
She smiled back as she got up in front of the microphone.
"Um-" She started but was cut off when the while venue turned pitch black.
Suddenly, a spotlight was on her. Her only.
"Something's wrong?" She mummbled against the microphone, to which the others softly chuckled at.
Music started playing all of a sudden, and it startled Mio. She quickly recognized the song: Over and Over Again by Nathan Sykes.
"What's happening?" She whispered to herself.
From the way you smile to the way you look
You capture me unlike no other
From the first hello, yeah, that's all it took
And suddenly we had each other
And I won't leave you
Always be true
One plus one, two for life
Over and over again
The soft voice of Jisung emerged from the entrance. Mio's head snapped so fast towards the sound that she could've broken her neck.
Her heart melted at the sight of Jisung in a black tuxedo, a bouquet flowers in his hand. Behind him, the rest of Stray Kids walked in pairs with more flowers.
Mio's eyes clouded with water and she felt her nose suddenly become stuffy.
So, don't ever think I need more
I've got the one to live for
No one else will do, and I'm telling you
Just put your heart in my hands
Promise it won't get broken
We'll never forget this moment
Yeah, we'll stay brand-new 'cause I'll love you
Over and over again
Over and over again
From the heat of night to the break of day
I'll keep you safe and hold you forever
And the sparks will fly, they will never fade
'Cause every day gets better and better
And I won't leave you
Always be true
Jisung continued to sing as he walked towards the stage, climbing from the stairs, and finally stopping in front of her. He handed her the flowers as he finished the last two lines of the song.
One plus one, two for life
Over and over again
As the song slowly came to a stop, Jisung dropped on one knee.
Mio gasped as she put her hand over her mouth. Tears were finally falling free from her eyes.
With a microphone on one hand, he took out the small black box with the other.
"Park Mio, will you marry me?" He smiled.
Mio, who was still sobbing and unable to form words, nodded her head.
Jisung grinned and stood up as he placed the ring on her finger.
"I love you, Mio." He whispered, lips hovering just above hers.
"I love you too, Jisung."
And with that, Jisung placed his lips softly against hers.
OKAY YALLS
BONUS SCENE FOR THE EXTRA
Mio breathed deeply as she pulled the microphone towards her lips.
Everyone was anticipating for the speech she was about to say. And boy, are they going to be shook.
"Umm.." Mio started as she fought off the smile that kept on coming back to her face.
Jisung smiled at her lovingly as he held her free hand with his.
"First of all, I wanna thank everyone for everything." She said and everyone cheered and clapped, and it made her smile.
"Really, I appreciate it.. but," her frown faded away. Jisung scrunched his brows in confusion and turned to look at his hyungs for answers. They all just shrugged.
"There's something everyone must know." Mio said as she took a deep breath.
Jisung slipped his hand away and put the micriphone in front of his lips. "What's wrong?" He asked as his heart beated uncontrollably.
"I'm afraid I love someone more than you Ji." She said as she looked at him in the eyes seriously. Everyone gasped.
"Wh-what?" Jisung's voice cracked as a tears pooled in his eyes. His hands started shaking and he gripped the microphone harder with both hands. "Who? Who is it?"
Mio smiled as she put a hand above her stomach, rubbing it softly.
"Our baby.."
Everyone was taken aback. With wide eyes, they stared at Jisung for his reaction.
He seemed to be shocked too. I mean, he did suddenly become a father.
His eyebrows shot up and his mouth fell agape. His grip on the microphone loosened and it eventually fell from his hold.
The tears that pulled his eyes finally rolled down his cheeks. "Oh my god..." he mummbled as he pulled Mio for another hug.
The crowd bursted into cheers. Their group of friends, aka Playback and Stray Kids hugged each other happily, some having tears in their eyes.
"Oh my god. I love you so much." Jisung mummbled against her ear as his tears continued to fall. "I love you so much, Mio."
She smiled. "I love you too, Jisung. So much."
