Zuhra’s House – Night
After deleting Kamal’s message, Zuhra remained in her study room, trying to focus on her textbooks. But her heart refused to cooperate. Thoughts of Kamal stormed her mind like a whirlwind — forcing her heart to beat without permission.
That night, she whispered a prayer deep within, asking God to give her strength and the will to succeed in the exams ahead. She made a promise to herself not to let love or longing distract her from her goals. But her heart knew — it wouldn’t be easy. Kamal’s love had grown deeper in her than she had ever planned.
Munir’s House – Hyderabad
Elsewhere in Hyderabad, Kamal lay on his bed in a quiet room at Munir’s house. Still recovering from the beating by Usman and John, his body was healing — but his heart, broken. The weight of Zuhra’s absence was heavy — a painful mixture of love and helplessness.
Munir entered with a bag of food and sat beside him.
“How’s the pain?” he asked with genuine concern.
Kamal looked at him, weariness written all over his face.
“My body hurts, Munir. But my heart… it’s worse. I sent her a message. I don’t know if she read it. I don’t even know if I’ll ever see her again.”
Munir spoke softly, “There’s a time for everything. But Kamal… it’s up to you to choose: Do you want to heal completely? Or keep walking in a dream that may never end?”
Kamal lifted his head with quiet resolve. “Munir, I won’t let anything stop me from showing her the truth in my heart — even if it costs me everything.”
Munir remained silent, feeling deep sympathy for his friend, unsure how to wake him from the dream he’d built for himself.
Zuhra’s House – The Next Morning
Zuhra woke early, despite barely sleeping. As she prepared to leave for school, her father, Brigadier Imran, stopped her at the door.
“Zuhra, come here,” he said firmly, not with gentleness.
She froze, heart thudding.
“I’ve noticed the changes in you. Don’t let anything — I mean anything — ruin your life. Remember why I work day and night. It’s not for you to waste time on foolish thoughts.”
Zuhra lowered her eyes, unable to speak.
“If you pass this exam, know this — you’re a doctor in my eyes. But if you fail… forget whatever you call your ‘dream’.”
He stared straight at her, face hard. “I hope you understand. Now go.”
Fighting tears, Zuhra rushed out. His words sat in her chest like a heavy stone. But she hardened herself — and began truly preparing for the exam.
At School – After Classes
In the library, she met Rushna again. They continued with their intense study sessions, building a solid revision plan. Zuhra slowly began regaining her confidence, even though Kamal still echoed in her soul.
But now, a new flame had been lit in her path — the light of ambition. And yet, that light was constantly shadowed by the looming presence of love.
