The Next Morning – Munir’s House – 11:30 AM
Kamal woke up with a pounding headache. After performing ablution, he sat at the edge of his bed, rubbing his forehead.
Munir entered the room holding a piece of paper in one hand and a cold drink in the other.
> Munir (cheerfully):
“Morning, champion. Today feels like a good day.”
> Kamal (dryly):
“What’s so good about it? My heart still feels like there’s lightning trapped inside.”
Munir sat beside him.
> Munir:
“Relax. I told you everything will fall into place. Come out with me this evening, alright?”
> Kamal (suspicious):
“Where are we going?”
> Munir (with a mischievous smile):
“Somewhere nice… you’ll like it. You know I never take you anywhere boring.”
> Kamal (wary):
“Munir, I swear I’m not in the mood for your games today. If this has anything to do with my father, or his mess — I’m out.”
> Munir (laughing):
“It’s not exactly about him. Just a new restaurant I want us to try. Come on, you said you needed a distraction. Well, here it is.”
Kamal stared at him in silence for a long while before finally sighing:
> Kamal:
“Fine. But if I see anyone… or sense that you’ve set me up, I’m out.”
> Munir:
“Deal.”
Evening – Gera Coursine Restaurant – 5:30 PM
Munir walked in with Kamal. The restaurant had undergone a complete transformation — modern, artistic, but still carried the bones of the building Kamal’s father built years ago.
Kamal paused at the entrance. He looked around intently. Something tightened in his chest. His eyes fell on a wall — a photograph of his father during the foundation ceremony.
He closed his eyes.
> Kamal:
“Where are we?”
> Munir:
“This is Gera Coursine. I know. But just look at it — see the potential.”
> Kamal (whipping around):
“You lied to me.”
> Munir (raising both hands):
“I took a risk. I knew if I told you, you wouldn’t come. But you need to see this place — with your own eyes. This place is yours, Kamal, even if your name isn’t on it. Your father built it from his soul. Stop running.”
Kamal stood there, eyes red.
> Kamal:
“So this was your plan?”
> Munir:
“It’s not a trick if it’s the truth. You’re the only one who can breathe life into this place. The only one.”
They stood at the entrance of the renewed Gera Coursine — the restaurant built by Kamal’s father but never opened. Tonight, it was glowing with lights and promise.
They stepped inside.
The interior sparkled with new chandeliers, elegant tables, and walls painted with the phrase:
“Legacy begins with Light.”
Kamal said nothing. He didn’t even lift his eyes completely.
Munir led him into a private office inside. There was a desk, two chairs, and a folder resting on the tabletop.
Munir opened the folder and handed Kamal a printed list.
> Munir:
“This is the schedule for tonight’s launch party — official opening of the restaurant. The guests include your father’s old friends, some investors, and our new staff. I’ve arranged everything exactly how it was asked…”
But Kamal didn’t take the list. He just stared ahead, expression unreadable.
Munir adjusted his seat, forcing an awkward laugh.
> Munir:
“Kamal, I’m talking to you.”
He reached to hold Kamal’s hand.
Kamal pulled away, eyes flaring.
> Kamal (angrily):
“What do I have to do with this? Munir, do you realize what you’ve done? You dragged me into this…
You’ve shattered my heart.”
He stood abruptly.
> Kamal:
“Don’t ever involve me in anything related to Rauf Gera again. I have nothing to do with him!”
He stormed toward the door. Munir rushed to stop him, grabbing his arm.
> Munir:
“Kamal, please… just say one thing tonight. Say something. Even if you hate your father — fine. But what’s stopping you from helping something that could one day be yours?”
Kamal stood there, breathing heavily. Then he asked with a bitter tone:
> Kamal:
“What should I say? The man who built this never asked me to speak.
I told you — I have no place in his story.”
Munir closed his eyes and spoke gently:
> Munir:
“Then do it for the event… like… inviting Zuhra.”
Kamal’s face changed. He paused.
Then slowly turned back, eyes scanning Munir’s.
A faint, conflicted smile formed on his face — a smile born from pain.
Munir softly encouraged:
> Munir:
“Send her a message. Say what you’ve been holding back. That’s all I ask.”
Kamal took a deep breath. Then he sat down on the nearest chair.
Munir tapped his shoulder with a grin.
> Munir:
“My guy.”
Kamal pulled out his phone.
He opened their chat. His thumb brushed the screen gently — like remembering her.
He began typing:
> Zuhra…
I’m not asking for anything — except tonight.
Come.
Even if we part ways, please… just give me this moment.
Just tonight.
Gera Coursine — 9:00 PM.
He hit send.
Munir watched him quietly.
In his heart, he whispered:
> “Insha Allah… you’ll find her.”
