                    • Sadhana's POV •
The second our lips met, the strangest thing happened. Pulsing waves of heat unfurled inside me, starting at my mouth and then rippling down my body, tingling in the tips of my breasts before travelling even lower towards my abdomen making my stomach churn. He tasted like the coconut nut burfi he'd been munching on all the while and the sweet flavor suffuses my taste buds. My lips parted on their own volition, and Anirudh took full advantage by sliding his tongue inside, exploring. My eyes closed and my fingers lost in the world of their own as they tugged at the hairs on his nape. When my tongue tangled with his, he made a low, growling noise in the back of his throat, and the erotic sound vibrated through my body, shaking me through to the core.
Immediately, I'm hit with a jolt of panic that spurs me to break the kiss because of the lack of oxygen.
I sucked in a shaky breath. "There, How was that, am I forgiven now?" I was trying to sound unaffected by what just happened, but the slight wobble in my voice betrayed me.
Anirudh has been upset with me because I something gravies I did. Well, I didn't save enough coconut burfi for him which came for our engagement ceremony and since then he has been sulking and avoiding me. No matter how much I tried, he was adamant on not even sparing me a glance so the best thing I did was kiss him. Seduction is the key to winning over. *wink, wink*
Anirudh's eyes were molten and darkened a shade darker as he stared at me with his hooded gaze. "I'm not that sure you know, It wasn't long enough for me to properly judge and think if it was enough to forgive you. I'm gonna need more to go on"
His big hand cupped my cheek and he tilted his head with a teasing smile as he leaned in. I looked at him with narrowed eyes and hit him on his shoulder, "You shameless freak". To which he laughed and joined our lips for another soul-shuddering kiss.
"Sadhana, should we go for wedding shopping together or would you like it done individually?", Anirudh questioned as we were walking towards the metro station. Our fingers intertwined in a perfect handhold.
"Hold your horses Mr Chowdhury, hamari shaadi ko abhi 6 mahine wakt hai, sabar rakhiye zara sa", I teased
(trans: Hold your horses Mr Chowdhury, there are still 6 months left for our marriage, be patient.)
"Vhi na bas 6 mahine baaki hai, there's so much work to do, cards print karwane hai, venue decide karna hai, outfit shopping karni hai, decoration aur caterer finalize karwana hai, aur-", he ranted pouting with his eyes huge like saucers
(trans: There are only 6 months left, there's so much work to do, cards have to be printed, venue has to be decided, outfit shopping has to be done, decoration and caterer have to be finalized, and-)
"Bas bas meri Rajdhani express, sab sahi ho ho jayega, at this stage, you're getting more jitters than the bride herself", I said stopping him mid-sentence as we boarded the train
(trans: Stop my Rajdhani Express, everything will be fine, at this stage, you're getting more jitters than the bride herself)
"Vaise ham kaha Jaa rhe hai?", he questioned. "I told you, it's a date", I replied
(trans: where are we going?)
"Shouldn't it be the other way around, I should be the one taking you on a date", he said looking at me. "Why? Are only men supposed to take the girl out? Kyu mai tumhe date per nhi le Jaa sakti", I spoke in a duh tone scrunching my nose
(trans: why? Are you only supposed to take the girl out? why can't i take you on a date)
He smiled down at me as his eyes shined in the sunrays," Ha Bhai le Jaa sakti ho, I was just kidding, itna sadh kyu rhi ho". He spoke pulling my nose and making me whine
(trans: yes you can. I was just kidding, why are you getting so hyper?)
We took our seats and the train started as we got engaged in a conversation. Time passed just in a blink, it was finally a year into our relationship and a week since we got engaged. At the start, it was a rough path because no relationship is a bed of roses. We had our fair share of fights and arguments but we had an unsaid pact between us to resolve everything, every misunderstanding before going to bed.
Life was blissful and felt complete with Anirudh. He was the best thing that ever happened to me. His business was flourishing, and he was at times so loaded and busy with work but now since he was at ease we had a serious talk about where our relationship was taking us after a lot of thinking we decided to make it official and now we were finally engaged and tying the knot in the next 6 months.
"Abhi toh bata do kaha le Jaa rhi ho?", Anirudh questioned again as we walked side by side towards our destination. "Tum chalne ka kaam Karo na bas, tumhe kahi maar kar dafna nhi dungi", I glared at him and it was enough to keep him silent was the next five minutes
(trans: at least now tell me, where are you taking me?
:You just do the work of walking, I won't kill you and bury you anywhere. )
We finally reached the two-story building and stood before the big metal gates. He stared at me in confusion and I motioned him to unlock the gates as we made our way inside.
I opened the door and we stepped inside. "So kaisi lagi jagah?", I questioned him who was busy admiring the place
(Trans: So, did you like the place?)
"It's pretty good, good enough for my office. You know I was looking for something like this but couldn't find one budget-friendly so dropped the idea. Waise kiska hai yeh?", he spoke while his fingertips caressed the baby blue painted wall, showing his admiration towards the colour
I smiled at him and spoke, "It's ours!". While in return he just looked at me in confusion while his brain worked in all directions.
I showed him the keys and then realisation seemed to dawn upon him. His eyes widened at the revelation and he rushed towards me and stood before me.
"You- I mean kaise?", he questioned flabbergasted his hands flying animatedly in different directions.
"Bas bas, Anirudh. Yeh lo paani piyo", I made him sit on the nearby wooden chair and passed him the water bottle from my bag which he chugged down in a go. "Explain please", he said wiping his lips with the back of his hand
(trans: be calm Anirudh, here, have some water)
"Well, you were hunting for a place to start your new office but every time you came back with a sullen look. My colleague from work recommended a broker, I talked to him and then he showed me this place. The building was abandoned for a long time and no one was interested in buying it, so he gave it to me at a reasonable price. I instantly liked the location since it was in the centre of the city and easily locatable. So we came up with a preferable settlement and I bought this in installment. After paying for the first one, I started the renovation. Yesterday the carpenter called me informing me that the place was ready so I decided to surprise you today", I explained waiting patiently for his reaction. He took some time to absorb everything and when he did he looked at me with a strange emotion in his eyes.
"But- how? I mean tumne yeh sab akele kaise handle Kiya, the budget-", he seemed to be in doubt as question marks floated in his head. "don't worry too much Anirudh. Think of this as a gift from your fiance for everything you have done for her. Aur fir baaki ki instalments toh ham saath meh hi pay karnege so finance ka toh koi problem hi nhi", I said and cupped his face
(trans: how did you handle all this alone, the budget was-
: Don't worry too much Anirudh. Think of this as a gift from your fiance for everything you have done for him. And then we will pay the remaining installments together every month so there is no problem of finance.)
He leaned into my touch and closed his eyes absorbing everything. A tear escaped his eyes which I whipped with my thumb. He was overwhelmed with emotions and I gave him time to handle himself. After composing himself he stood up and forced his lashes open taking me in a bone-cracking hug.
"Thank you thank you-", he went on thanking me and twirled me around making me chuckle. "Ruko Ruko, mujhe chakkar aa raha hai", I giggled tapping on his shoulder and he placed me on my feet chuckling
(trans: Wait wait, I'm feeling dizzy)
"You don't know how much I'm thankful to you Sadhana, it's too much to handle", he spoke honestly and broke the hug, our hands still wrapped around each other. His brown eyes stared down at me and they glistened with emotions, they showed how grateful he was to me. But it was nothing compared to what he had done for us. It was just a small token of thankful I did.
"I love you", he confessed. His lips held that small smile and he poured all his emotions as his lips descended upon mine, in a slow and chaste kiss.
Our lips moulded with each other and our lashes forced closed enjoying the warmth of each other. His thumb feathered my cheek so softly and my fingers tightened on the fabric of his shirt near his waist.
We broke the kiss after some time and rested our foreheads on each other. Composing our breaths we opened our eyes and looked at each other with those love-filled eyes, thanking each other for everything, for togetherness, for strength, for love, for care.
"You have me, Anirudh. Until every star in the galaxy dies, you have me.", and I leaned in for another kiss.
