Or Why Lisa Can't Escape Her Fate
Lisa didn't mean to time travel. She really didn't.
One moment, she was minding her own business, working as a scientist at some shady research lab (she needed the money, okay?). The next thing she knew, she had tripped over a power cord, hit a big red button, and—
BOOM.
Lisa blinked.
Instead of a modern lab, she found herself standing in the middle of an ancient palace. The air smelled of burning incense and candle wax, and the flickering light from lanterns cast eerie shadows on the towering golden pillars. The silk curtains swayed with the wind, and the murmurs of palace maids echoed faintly in the halls.
Lisa barely had time to process where she was before she heard a sharp, commanding voice.
"WHO DARES ENTER MY CHAMBER?!"
Lisa turned toward the source of the voice—and froze.
Because the princess standing before her, dressed in an elegant hanbok with an elaborately decorated crown, was none other than Jennie.
Lisa's stomach dropped.
Oh, you've got to be kidding me.
Jennie's dark eyes scanned Lisa suspiciously. "A foreigner?" she said, her voice laced with curiosity and something dangerously close to amusement.
Lisa took a step back. "Uh...hi?"
"Guards!" Jennie shouted.
Before Lisa could even attempt to run, she was tackled to the ground by two heavily armored men.
Great.

Lisa quickly learned three things:
She was in the Joseon Dynasty.
Jennie was a spoiled princess.
Jennie REALLY liked Lisa.
After being dragged into the main throne room and thoroughly interrogated (Lisa had lied through her teeth, claiming she was a lost traveler with amnesia), Jennie had made a declaration that sealed Lisa's fate.
"YOU ARE NOW MY ROYAL SERVANT!"
Lisa blinked. "Uh... what?"
Jennie smirked as she leaned forward from her throne, eyes twinkling with amusement. "You appeared out of nowhere. You're suspicious. But you amuse me. So, from now on, you shall serve me."
Lisa looked around at the guards, hoping someone would say, "Wait, maybe we should ask the King first."
Nope.
The guards just nodded. The maids whispered excitedly. Lisa could hear phrases like "The princess never takes an interest in anyone!" and "She must really like her."
Lisa groaned. She was doomed.
Jennie wasted no time in making Lisa's life a living hell.
Lisa was forced to carry Jennie everywhere."Why should I walk when I have my personal servant?" Jennie said sweetly as she draped herself over Lisa's back. Lisa nearly collapsed under the weight.
Jennie got jealous over literally everything. When a palace maid so much as looked at Lisa, Jennie would shove Lisa behind her and yell, "MINE."
Jennie was a menace. If Lisa ever tried to escape, Jennie would summon the royal guards to chase her down. It happened three times in one week.
Lisa sighed. She really needed to fix the time machine and get out of here.
After weeks of being Jennie's personal servant-slash-prisoner, Lisa finally hacked together a time-travel device using stolen palace materials and an ancient scroll (don't ask).
With one last look at Jennie, who was asleep (thank God), Lisa activated the device—
FLASH!
Lisa landed...
Right into another Jennie's arms.
Lisa groaned. "No. No. No. Not again."

Lisa blinked at her new surroundings. She was no longer in the Joseon Dynasty. Instead, she was in a smoky, dimly lit bar—men in suits, women in elegant dresses... and Jennie, wearing a pinstripe gangster suit, holding a gun.
Lisa gasped. "Oh, come on."
Jennie smirked. "Well, well, well. What do we have here?"
Lisa tried to run.
But before she could take two steps, Jennie grabbed her collar and yanked her back.
"Where do you think you're going, sweetheart?" Jennie purred.
Lisa whimpered. "Please, not another possessive Jennie."
Jennie raised a brow. "Another?"
Lisa sighed. "Long story."
Jennie grinned. "Good. You can tell me all about it over dinner. With me. Alone."
Lisa screamed internally.
Lisa barely survived Jennie the Gangster. She managed to trick her way out of Jennie's speakeasy, found a radio transmitter (which she turned into a time machine somehow), and zapped herself away—Only to land...
In the middle of a space station. And guess who was there?
Space Commander Jennie.
Lisa collapsed to the floor in defeat.
Lisa gave up.
No matter what timeline she traveled to, Jennie was always there.
Jennie the Viking Warrior? Check.
Jennie the Pirate Queen? Double check.
Jennie the CEO of a Megacorporation in 2080? Yep, still possessive.
and at the last Lisa landed back in her own time... only to see modern-day Jennie standing there, arms crossed, smirking.
"Took you long enough. I was waiting."
Lisa froze. "You... you remember?"
Jennie grinned. "Of course. I remember all of it."
Lisa's soul left her body.
Jennie took a step closer. "So... ready to accept your fate, time traveler?"
Lisa gulped. "I hate time travel."
Jennie laughed, wrapping an arm around Lisa's waist. "Too bad. You're stuck with me. Across every timeline."
Lisa wanted to cry.
But...
Maybe it wasn't so bad.
