Lisa's life was completely normal until she got ambushed by her best friend, Jisoo.
"I need a favor!" Jisoo yelled dramatically as she slammed her hands on Lisa's desk.
Lisa, who was just trying to eat her ramen in peace, choked and glared at her. "Can you not yell when I'm eating?"
Jisoo ignored her, eyes sparkling with mischief. "My cousin is getting married next week, and my entire family thinks I have a girlfriend. So.."
Lisa narrowed her eyes, already sensing where this was going. "No."
Jisoo gasped, clutching her chest like Lisa had just stabbed her. "I haven't even finished!"
"Fine. Finish."
"Will you pretend to be my girlfriend?"
Lisa blinked. "Excuse me, what?"
Jisoo beamed at her like this was the best idea ever. It wasn't. Lisa absolutely refused until Jisoo bribed her with free food for a month. Lisa agreed instantly, only realizing later what a huge mistake she had made. Because Jisoo conveniently forgot to mention one tiny detail.
Her cousin's wedding was also where Jennie would be.
Jennie. Jisoo's terrifying, rich best friend. The same Jennie who once threatened to punch Lisa for eating the last donut at their friend group's brunch. Lisa had tried to avoid Jennie ever since, but now there was no escape.
The moment Lisa stepped into the wedding venue, she knew she had made a terrible decision. Jennie was already there, leaning gracefully against the bar in a sleek black dress, holding a glass of wine like she owned the entire universe. Her sharp eyes locked onto Lisa's, and Lisa immediately regretted every life choice that had led her to this moment.
Jisoo clung to Lisa's arm, whispering through a smile. "Remember, we're a couple. Be natural."
Lisa nodded stiffly, but when Jennie's gaze flicked to their linked arms, Lisa's brain short-circuited.
Jennie raised an eyebrow. "So... you and Jisoo, huh?"
Lisa's mouth opened and closed like a dying fish. "Uh. Yes. Me. And Jisoo. Together. Romantically."
Jennie's smirk was slow and lethal. "Wow. You're really bad at this."
Lisa internally screamed.
Dinner was worse. Jennie sat across from them, eyes narrowed like she was playing detective. Halfway through the meal, she leaned over and whispered, "What's Jisoo's favorite color?"
Lisa froze, sweat gathering at the back of her neck. Jisoo kicked her under the table, eyes wide.
"Uh... blue?"
Jennie's smirk grew wider. "It's purple."
Lisa choked on her drink. Jennie crossed her arms. "How long have you been dating?"
"Six months!" Jisoo cut in quickly.
Jennie leaned back in her chair, tapping her fingers against the table. "Prove it."
Lisa blinked. "Prove what?"
"Kiss."
Lisa and Jisoo: (°ロ°)
Lisa nearly died on the spot. Jisoo grabbed her face without warning, whispering through clenched teeth, "Just close your eyes and go with it."
Lisa squeezed her eyes shut and leaned in only for Jisoo to panic at the last second and shove her away. Lisa fell off the chair with a loud thud, while Jennie burst out laughing.
"Fake, I knew it." Jennie declared, utterly victorious.
Lisa groaned from the floor. "Jisoo, you are the worst."
"Sorry, I panicked."
Jennie smirked, leaning down toward Lisa. "Guess what? Now, you owe me a real date."
Lisa blinked up at her, still flat on the floor. "Huh?"
Jennie's grin was positively wicked. "You pretended to be Jisoo's girlfriend. Now let's see how you do as mine."
Lisa screamed internally.
Somehow, she ended up fake dating Jennie. Except Jennie wasn't like Jisoo. Jennie was possessive. If someone flirted with Lisa, Jennie would immediately grab Lisa's hand and say, "She's mine." Jennie texted her every morning and night totally unnecessary, but kind of cute? Except Jennie also made Lisa pay for every meal, which was less cute.
Lisa started to notice that Jennie wasn't exactly pretending. Her heart would race every time Jennie smirked at her or leaned in too close. It was confusing and annoying and unfair because Jennie was supposed to be terrifying, not secretly adorable.
One night, after Jennie dragged her to yet another overpriced dinner, Lisa finally broke. "Why are we still fake dating?"
Jennie stared at her like she had grown two heads. "You're an idiot."
Lisa blinked. "Huh?"
Jennie sighed, grabbed Lisa's collar, and kissed her.
Lisa froze.
Jennie pulled away, smirking. "Still fake?"
Lisa's brain short-circuited for the third time that week.
Jennie rolled her eyes. "We've been real for a while now, genius."
Lisa sat there, mouth hanging open, trying to process the fact that somehow, in the middle of this whole disaster, she accidentally got a girlfriend.
Jennie flicked her forehead. "You're lucky you're cute."
Lisa blinked, then internally screamed for the hundredth time that week.
Oh god. She really was dating Jennie.
