Lisa Manoban loved late-night walks. The cool breeze, the quiet streets, the complete ignorance of the fact that she might get kidnapped—pure bliss.
Until she actually did get kidnapped.
One second, she was scrolling on her phone, and the next, she was slammed against a brick wall in a dark alley. Her phone clattered to the ground, the glow of the screen casting eerie shadows against the damp pavement. A low, velvety voice purred in the darkness.
"You smell... delicious."
Lisa blinked, her head tilting slightly. "Uh, thanks? I use lavender-scented lotion."
The figure stepped into the moonlight, revealing a woman—impossibly gorgeous, with sharp cheekbones, piercing eyes, and the undeniable gleam of fangs. Lisa exhaled, processing the situation with a lot less panic than she probably should have.
"I am Jennie Kim," the woman announced with an air of importance. "And you... will be my meal."
Lisa considered that for a moment before nodding. "Oh. Okay."
Jennie hesitated. "Wait—what?"
Lisa shrugged, still pinned against the wall. "I mean, you worked really hard kidnapping me, so go ahead, I guess."
Jennie squinted at her, clearly thrown off. "You're not... scared?"
Lisa laughed, the sound light and unbothered. "I eat instant ramen three times a day. At this point, my bloodstream is 90% preservatives. You sure you wanna drink this?"
Jennie frowned, visibly debating her choices. "...You make a good point."
Lisa smirked. "See? You should always check the nutritional facts before consuming something questionable."
Jennie exhaled sharply, clearly regretting all her life choices that led to this moment. Still, she was committed. With a resigned sigh, she leaned in and sank her fangs into Lisa's neck.
And immediately regretted it.
"You taste weird," Jennie grumbled, wiping her mouth after one sip of Lisa's blood. She looked deeply offended, like she had just been served burnt toast at a five-star restaurant.
Lisa grinned. "Told you. If you get food poisoning, don't blame me."
Jennie groaned. "Ugh. I can't believe this. I finally find a meal, and she's expired."
Lisa gasped, pressing a hand to her chest. "Excuse me?! Did you just call me expired?!"
Jennie rolled her eyes. "Look, I need fresh, rich blood. You taste like regret and cheap convenience store snacks."
Lisa huffed. "Well, maybe you should've checked before biting me, Count Dracula."
Jennie sighed, rubbing her temples. "Great. Now I have a headache."
Lisa grinned. "So... do I get to live?"
Jennie groaned dramatically. "Unfortunately."
But that was supposed to be the end of it. A failed meal, a ruined night, and a reluctant dismissal. Jennie should have just disappeared into the night, never to see Lisa Manoban again.
Instead, Lisa followed her.
"So you're a vampire? That's so cool," Lisa said, walking beside Jennie down the empty street as if they were casual acquaintances instead of predator and failed prey.
Jennie shot her a side glance. "Go away."
"Do you turn into a bat?"
"No."
"Do you sleep in a coffin?"
"No."
"Do you sparkle?"
Jennie stopped walking so fast that Lisa nearly bumped into her. The vampire turned, eyes dark and dangerous. "Say that again, and I'll actually bite you."
Lisa beamed. "You already did. And you didn't like it."
Jennie exhaled, muttering under her breath as she resumed walking. "Why are you still here?!"
Lisa shrugged. "I dunno. You're kinda fun."
Jennie groaned. "I hate you."
Lisa grinned. "That's fair."
Jennie should have run faster, disappeared into the shadows, never let Lisa find her again. Instead, she found herself stuck in an impossible situation.
Because somehow, Lisa had broken into her house.
"Why are you in my house?" Jennie demanded, arms crossed as Lisa lounged comfortably on her couch, munching on a bag of chips.
Lisa grinned. "Your window was open."
"That doesn't mean come in!"
Lisa nodded. "It kinda does."
Jennie inhaled sharply, pinching the bridge of her nose. "You are the most annoying human I've ever met."
Lisa winked. "Aww, you've met other humans? Am I special?"
Jennie glared. "I will throw you out the window."
Lisa held up a chip. "Want one?"
Jennie stared at her like she had just asked a fish if it wanted a bicycle. "You do realize I only drink blood, right?"
Lisa nodded. "Yeah, but if you try these spicy chips, I swear you'll reconsider your diet."
Jennie sighed, dramatically flopping onto the couch. "I want to bite you again."
Lisa smirked. "Do it. Maybe I'll turn into a vampire and annoy you forever."
Jennie groaned into her hands. "I really need to rethink my life choices."
She tried to shake Lisa off.
She moved houses. Lisa found her.
She switched identities. Lisa hacked the system.
She faked her own death. Lisa attended the funeral.
Jennie sat at her desk, rubbing her temples. "I am literally an immortal creature of the night, and I cannot get rid of one human."
Lisa grinned, plopping down beside her. "Face it, Jennie. We're soulmates."
Jennie stared at the ceiling. "I have never known suffering like this."
Lisa patted her back. "You'll get used to it."
Jennie groaned. "I hate you."
Lisa smiled. "Yeah, yeah. Now, about those spicy chips—"
And that was how Jennie Kim, powerful vampire, was defeated... by an idiot with no survival instincts.
