Lisa had always dreamed of having a peaceful life. She was 23 years old, working a stable job, and had a loving girlfriend, Mina. Everything should have been perfect—except for one problem.
Jennie.
Jennie was her 12-year-old little sister, and while most younger siblings were a little annoying, Jennie was on a whole different level. She had somehow convinced herself that Lisa belonged to her and that no one—not even Mina—could take Lisa away.
Lisa was sitting on the couch, cuddling with Mina while watching a movie. It was a rare moment of peace. The lights were dim, and the sound of the movie played softly in the background as Mina rested her head on Lisa's shoulder. Lisa smiled, feeling completely content.
Until Jennie walked in.
Jennie stopped in her tracks, eyes narrowing at the sight before her. "What do you think you're doing?"
Mina blinked, momentarily confused. "Uh... watching a movie?"
Jennie crossed her arms. "Why are you touching my Lisa?"
Lisa groaned. "Jennie, for the last time, I am not your Lisa."
Jennie gasped dramatically, clutching her chest like she had just been personally betrayed. "Oh, so you're hers now?! Just because she's older than me, prettier, and has a job?!"
Mina looked at Lisa, amused. "That's a compliment, right?"
Lisa sighed, rubbing her temples. "Jennie, please."
Jennie huffed and marched over to the couch, squeezing herself between them with all the force of a tiny but determined gremlin. Mina barely had time to react before she found herself unceremoniously pushed to the edge of the couch.
"If you're gonna date my sister," Jennie declared, "you have to prove you're worthy."
Mina let out a long breath, trying to stay patient. "And how do I do that?"
Jennie smirked. "A battle."
Mina stared at her. "A battle?"
Jennie nodded, looking deadly serious. "Yes. A battle of Mario Kart."
Lisa groaned. "Jennie, not this again."
Jennie ignored her, eyes locked onto Mina like she was her sworn enemy. "Winner gets Lisa."
Mina raised an eyebrow. "And if I lose?"
Jennie grinned. "You leave and never come back."
Mina turned to Lisa. "Is she serious?"
Lisa just sighed. "She's always serious about Mario Kart."
Despite knowing how ridiculous this was, Mina found herself sitting down with the controller in her hands. Lisa sat behind them, watching with mild amusement and slight horror. The last time someone challenged Jennie in Mario Kart, it ended in tears.
The race began, and within seconds, Jennie was demolishing Mina. She maneuvered her kart effortlessly, hitting every speed boost, dodging every obstacle, and throwing shells like a seasoned warrior.
Lisa leaned over and whispered, "Just let her win. It'll be easier."
Mina frowned. "No. I have pride."
Lisa sighed. "That's what the last one said."
Jennie let out a victorious cackle as she launched a blue shell. "Bow before your queen!"
Mina let out a frustrated groan as her kart spun out of control. "What kind of child are you?!"
"The best kind!" Jennie smirked as she crossed the finish line first.
Lisa patted Mina's shoulder. "You tried."
Jennie stood up, pointing dramatically at Mina. "You are unworthy! Begone!"
Lisa rolled her eyes. "Jennie, you can't just tell people to leave because they lost a game."
Jennie pouted. "Fine. But I will be watching you, Mina. One wrong move, and I'll—"
Lisa cut her off. "No, you won't."
A few days later, Lisa invited Mina over for dinner, hoping Jennie would behave. Spoiler alert: she did not.
Lisa was enjoying her meal when she noticed Jennie staring at Mina, eyes narrowed like a hawk.
Mina shifted uncomfortably. "Uh... Jennie?"
Jennie took a slow, dramatic bite of her food. "You don't deserve my sister."
Lisa groaned. "Jennie, stop."
Jennie wiped her mouth like a mafia boss about to issue a serious threat. "What are your intentions with my Lisa?"
Mina sighed, setting down her chopsticks. "I love her. I want to be with her."
Jennie narrowed her eyes. "Forever?"
Mina nodded. "Yes."
Jennie gasped. "Oh no. She's serious about you. This is worse than I thought."
Lisa rolled her eyes. "It's not that bad, Jennie."
Jennie dramatically slammed her hands on the table. "If she takes you away, what happens to me?! Who will watch cringy K-dramas with me? Who will make my midnight snacks? Who will comfort me when I lose in Mario Kart?!"
Lisa sighed. "Mom? Dad?"
Jennie scoffed. "They don't understand me like you do!"
Their parents, sitting at the other end of the table, just laughed.
"Lisa, just marry both of them," their dad joked.
Lisa choked on her food. "Dad! What kind of solution is that?!"
Jennie nodded thoughtfully. "Actually, I would accept that arrangement."
Mina blinked. "I will not be marrying a 12-year-old."
Jennie shrugged. "Fine. But I will be keeping a close eye on you."
One day, Mina finally had enough and pulled Jennie aside. "Look, I know you love Lisa. I get it. She's amazing. But I love her too. And I want to be with her. I promise I won't take her away from you. She's still your big sister. She'll always be there for you."
Jennie hesitated, then sighed. "Fine. I guess you're not that bad."
Lisa smiled. "See? We can all get along."
Jennie smirked. "Yeah. But if you ever make my Lisa cry, just know... I will find you."
Mina gulped. "Noted."
Lisa sighed. "Jennie, I swear—"
Jennie grinned. "Now, who's up for another round of Mario Kart?"
