"Not you packing the whole fucking world in your suitcases." You scowled your friend Alyssa, while you and the rest of your girls helped drag her things out of the van taxi.
It was Alyssa's birthday week and she wanted all of her close friends to fly out to Jamaica with her to celebrate.
At first, it was only supposed to be a girls trip. But your guy friends started bitching about you all leaving them out. Alyssa eventually agreed that they could come โ€” with a little convincing from yourself โ€” making them book a last minute flight that would be arriving later on tonight.
"Ouuuuuu shit! Talk about luxury, bitch! This place is noiiiiceee." One of your girls, Cassie, loudly complimented as you all walked into the big rental house Alyssa booked for the week.
You all ran around, picking out your rooms. There were six all together. You made sure to choose one with the view of the ocean.
Time went by and you had fallen asleep shortly after you picked out your bedroom. You woke up a few hours later, seeing that it was now starting to get dark outside.
You took a quick shower, remembering that Alyssa planned a dinner party tonight at the house with a private chef that would be arriving soon to prepare everyone's meals.
After getting out the shower, you put on some lounge wear in the meantime as you curled your hair.
There was a knock on your door and you yelled for the person to come in. As soon as the door opened you were met with your bestie, Janae.
"The guys are finally here, girlโ€”"
"Y/N! Bring yo ugly ass out here!" Janae was cut off by Tommy loudly calling out for you from the living room.
You and Janae shared a laugh as you playfully rolled your eyes. You turned off the curling iron, leaving your hair half done to go greet the boys. You didn't care about how you currently looked since you were all used to seeing each other looking fucked up. That's how close your crew was.
You walked out your room with Janae, seeing Tommy standing there already sparking a blunt with the other guys. You smiled brightly as you ran up to them, hugging them excitedly.
You soon noticed an unfamiliar face, silently watching your interaction with the boys as he leaned his against the wall with his hands in his pockets.
You started feeling a little embarrassed due to the nature of your hair at the moment looking a mess with this handsome stranger in your presence.
"Umm I don't mean to be rude, but are y'all gonna tell me who your uninvited guest is?" Alyssa questioned them as you and the rest of the girls shot her a look.
"Lyssa, chill out." Janae immediately spoke up.
The male chuckled, pushing himself off the wall. "It's all good." He said to Janae before approaching Alyssa. "I'm Nasir, but everyone calls me Nas for short."
All the girls were taken aback by how smooth his voice sounded. Alyssa's attitude quickly disappeared as she shook this fine gentleman's hand. "N-nice to meet y-you, Nas." She nervously stumbled over her words, causing you and Janae to lowly snicker.
"This is Cassie, Janae, and Y/N." Janae's boyfriend Shameek, introduced the rest of you to Nasir.
"Why are we just now meeting you? We been knowing these niggas for years and met any and everyone they know." Cassie stated.
Tommy chuckled, "Nas just got out the pen a few weeks ago and we thought a vacation would be good for him. He just did a six year sentenceโ€”"
"JAIL?!" Alyssa dramatically exclaimed, with her attitude instantly returning. "How the hell were you even able to leave the country if you just got out?!"
Mark, another friend of yours, scrunched up his face due to how loud and extra she was being. "Lyss, you need to stop all that damn yelling. He was able to leave because he's innocent, aight? He ain't do the shit they kept him in there for."
"I didn't ask you, I asked him." Alyssa shot back.
"The answer ain't gon' change, shorty." Nas spoke up and chuckled.
Feeling the sudden awkwardness in the air, Janae decided to step in. "Okay uh.. everyone should go get themselves ready for the dinner Alyssa has planned for us here at the house tonight. Sha and Mark, y'all can help me finish setting up the decorations."
"But I don't want to." Shameek complained.
"You don't have a choice. Come on." Janae grabbed him by his arm and walked off, with Mark following behind.
Alyssa went back to her room while Tommy and Nas continued to talk amongst themselves while finishing the blunt.
"What you think he was locked up for?" Cassie whispered to you.
You shrugged as you both stared at him. "Probably killing someone. But he's innocent though, so he ain't really did shit."
Nas felt the both of you glaring him down, making him look over at you guys which caused both of you to jump out of fear for some reason.
"Oh hell- ALYSSAAA!" Cassie's scary ass quickly ran to Alyssa's room as you rushed back to yours, accidentally bumping into the wall.
Nasir laughed and shook his head. "Fuck's wrong with them?"
Tommy just smacked his lips and tapped the end of the blunt over a random piece of paper to dump off the ash. "They dramatic as fuck, that's all. You'll get used to it."
They both walked over to the large L-shaped couch in the living room, plopping down as Tommy turned on the TV.
"This couch mad big and comfortable. 'Ion mind sleeping on here at all." Nas stated.
"Yeah my bad about that, son. I would've told Lyssa we was bringing an extra body so you could get a room, but she already ain't want us coming in the first place. Y/N had to convince her."
Nas raised an eyebrow. "Y/N? Which one was that again?"
"Shorty with her hair half done." Tommy responded.
Nas nodded as he remembered. "Word. She cute."
Smoke escaped through Tommy's lips before speaking. "You'll like her, she's mad cool. Complete opposite of Lyssa's annoying ass." He explained and softly cackled. He loved Alyssa but her mouth was just too much sometimes.
โ€”โ€”
It was now time to gather around the long rectangular dinner table that Janae had set up so beautifully. Event Planning & Decor was her profession, so you all knew she was going come all the way through with the 'Paradise' theme Alyssa wanted since her birthday was being celebrated in the islands.
"Okay this shit is hard. You did your thing, Nae!" Tommy complimented as you all found a seat at the table.
"What about us? She ain't do all this by herself." Shameek scolded.
"Word." Mark chimed in and shook his head.
Janae kissed her teeth. "Tommy, tell them they did a good job too so they can stop crying."
You chuckled as you chose the last seat at the table that happened to be beside Nas. He gave you a small smile, pulling out your chair for you.
"Thank you." You said politely while he just admired your look for the night.
Your hair was now on point. Your makeup was done to perfection, and your dress was showing off all your curves. Alyssa wanted everyone looking sharp for this dinner, mainly for picture purposes.
"You look beautiful." Nas spoke in your ear from behind you before you sat down.
You smiled and blushed, looking back at him. "Thanks. You look good too."
He smirked and winked at you before taking his own seat.
"Yo, can we eat now or what?" Mark impatiently questioned Alyssa who was too busy posing for the camera as Cassie continued taking pictures of her.
Tommy smacked his lips, looking back at the chef who was also waiting on Alyssa's permission to start serving the food.
"Excuse me, sir. We ready to eat." Tommy said and the chef began serving everyone's meals.
Once everyone was done eating, the boys cracked open a few bottles of alcohol while music played off the loud bluetooth speakers.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY LYSSA!" You and your girls shouted into the camera as Alyssa made a video of all of you for her Instagram story.
Shameek went and changed the song to 'Murder She Wrote', immediately making everyone get hype.
"It's only right since we're in Jamaica." He said as he walked up behind Janae, who started whining herself on him.
You chugged down the rest of your tequila before placing the glass down somewhere and started dancing. You noticed Nasir just sitting down with a bottle of Hennessy in his hand as he bobbed his head to the music.
He wasn't the dancing type but he was still enjoying himself. The last time he ever had some sort of fun like this was before he got arrested. Seeing everyone in a good mood tonight was enough for him really.
You two suddenly made eye contact as you continued to dance to the song. You whined your waist while looking back at him, causing both of you to smile and laugh.
Nas then gestured you to come to him, which you gladly did. He placed the bottle on the floor next to him and gently pulled you down on his lap.
"I don't think we got any pictures together today, ma." He said with a sly grin on his face.
You softly giggled and playfully rolled your eyes. If this was his way of flirting with you, it was kind of cute.
"Where's your phone?" You asked him. Your phone died not too long ago and was currently charging.
Nas pulled it out of his pocket, unlocking it and handing it to you.
You went to his Instagram story camera, getting a little more comfortable on his lap before taking a selfie with him and posting it.
"Your followers might think I'm your girlfriend." You snickered and gave him back his phone.
He shrugged, "is that a bad thing?"
"I don't know. You have any lady friends who might get in their feelings if they see that?"
"Nah." He chuckled. "Man, isn't this shit like Facebook where you just post pictures of all the memories you make for all your family and friends to see? Why it gotta be all that other shit?"
You completely forgot that this man just got out of prison and has no idea what social media is, or that it really be fucking with people mentally.
"I wish I had an answer for you." You shook your head, not knowing how to respond to his question.
"Well fuck what anyone thinks. I'm havin' a good ass time over here with a beautiful ass woman and 'ion care who gets in they feelings about it!" He jokingly, but seriously, exclaimed as you laughed knowing the Hennessy was kicking in.
Given that he hadn't been this close to a woman in six years, it was getting kind of hard for Nas to resist you. The longer he stared at you, the more images popped into his mind of what your love faces would look like if he had one night with you.
But he always knew to never cross any boundaries with a woman without her permission or when she's under the influence. Pussy was never that serious to him.
If it's one thing he was going to do, however, it was using this week on this sweet getaway to see how close the two of you could get.
