Y/N was at a party, a birthday party to be specific.
Being the party girl herself, she should be enjoying the hell out of it, but she wasn't. She hated every second of it. She felt suffocated just by being there.
Because it was the famous YSL model and ambassador, Roseanne Park's birthday party. And she was her ex.
She hated to admit it but Rosé looked as good as she did five years ago. Y/N was forced to be there because of some business issues. She didn't even know that Rosé was going to be there in the first place.
So, when she got to know whose birthday party it was, Y/N couldn't help the pang of pain that she felt straight through her heart. Making it impossibly miserable for her for the next few weeks.
She hated the party, not because she had a past with her, but because she had a past with her. The person she loved just a few years back so madly and now they don't even know how to start a conversation, hell to even hold eye contact anymore.
It was complicated.
Y/N left the relationship because she felt Rosé was drifting apart from her. So, when she announced her proposal of breaking up for good, Rosé didn't stop her.
She let her go and it hurt Y/N so much more badly than it should.
She thought that if Rosé would've held back, she would've stayed. However, Rosé didn't stop her, she let her go without any restraint.
Y/N packed her bags, without any help from Rosé, and got out of her house the next day. Rosé didn't even wave her goodbye, she just let her go. Just like that.
Y/N lived in a hotel for a month, hoping that Rosé would call her and tell her that she loved her too much to let her go. Yet, that didn't happen. Rosé didn't contact her. She ultimately blocked her out from her social media too.
Rosé left Y/N. They did break up.
And after seeing her looking so goddamn pretty at her birthday party wearing a black dress. Y/N couldn't help but feel the heartbroken feelings surfacing again. Like they used to exactly three years ago.
Y/N decided to do the work that she came for at the party, to talk with the potential shareholders of their company.
However, her eyes never failed to trail towards Rosé, who was happily talking to a man, who had his arms around her.
To be honest, Y/N loved her. To this day, she loves her. There was no way she could forget her first love, the woman she devoted herself to fully. The woman she swore to marry one day.
"What are you doing to me?" Y/N muttered under her breath as she leaned against the bar, counted, and ordered two glasses of red wine.
She couldn't think of anything else than Rosé and she wanted to take her mind off of her. However, when she turned around and saw Rosé laughing with the guy beside her, Y/N felt like throwing up.
She felt congested in the large mansion and decided to take a breather. Just for her patched-up heart's sake.
Taking her glass of wine in her hand, Y/N wove through the crowd and went towards the balcony of the mansion. When she opened the door, the cool gust of pleasant air brushed against her face and she felt a little better at that.
"That feels nice, "she said to herself and walked forward while staring at the view of the city in front of her.
The shining lights from the small house and buildings made her feel calm as she took a small sip of her wine. The fruity liquid slid down her throat as she felt the messed-up emotions running through her head again.
She sure had it bad for Roseanne Park.
Closing her eyes, she tilted her head up and looked at the night sky. There were stars, a few of them, and the bright half-moon that looked stunning up there. Just looking at the less crowded sky made her gulp the heavy lump in her throat as tears filled her eyes.
Her heavy heart of hers was hurting inside. She felt the need to open her mouth and sob out loudly. Just the urge was too strong for her to do so.
Just then when the tears were about to spill out of her eyes, the door of the balcony opened and a familiar scent invaded her senses.
"Oh, it's you, "the husky, low tone made Y/N turn around and look at the woman with wide eyes.
For the first in the whole night, Y/N got the chance to look at her completely. Rosé looked stunning with the black dress that hugged her curves just right. She had her blonde hair tied up in a bun as the light make-up covered up her beautiful face.
In short, Rosé looked gorgeous as always.
"You're staring, "Rosé's voice cut her off in her trance and she blushed at her comment.
Turning her head to the side, Y/N replied, "I wasn't."
Rosé snickered at her instincts and said, "You can if you want to though."
Y/N couldn't believe what she heard and snapped her head to look at her. There was a cocky smirk on Rosé's face as her arms were crossed in front of her chest.
The confidence was oozing out of her.
"I said, I wasn't staring at you, "Y/N retorted and Rosé shook her head with a soft laugh.
Rosé walked forward and stood an arm's length away from her. Y/N had her breath hitched up in her throat at the proximity as she felt her heart pounding wildly against her ribs.
"Aren't you going to wish me?" Rosé asked as she looked at Y/N with a small smile, that had a little sassy attitude in it.
Y/N raised one of her eyebrows and replied, "I already did."
"Oh? I don't remember, "Rosé scratched her chin, indicating thinking. "Say it again then."
"Sorry?"
Rosé inclined a little forward and took the wine glass from Y/N's hand, gulping it down in one go.
"Hey, that was my drink!" Y/N said, annoyed a little.
Rosé wiped the corners of her mouth and threw the glass on the floor as it shattered into many pieces. Y/N flinched a little at that and looked down at the floor where the broken piece of glasses was laying.
"Now it's nobody's..." Rosé stepped a little closer to her as Y/N stepped back at that. "Wish me again, Y/N."
The way Y/N slipped out of her mouth made Y/N feel a shiver down her spine. She couldn't see the expressions and emotions she saw on Rosé's face anymore. It was just that the confidence was showing off from every angle.
"Rosé--"
"Say it again!" Rosé shouted out loud which made Y/N stare at her with disbelief.
This was not her Rosé. This was not the woman she loved and was in love with. Her Rosé would never shout or rather speak like that. Or even do anything like that.
That moment was unbelievable for her.
"What has gotten into you, Rosé?" Y/N asked out loud at which Rosé scoffed.
"What has gotten into me? Isn't it obvious?" Rosé said. "Can't you see what I'm trying to say here?"
"I... am not sure I follow?" Y/N questioned, perplexed.
Rosé stepped further and now Y/N's back touched the railing on the balcony. Rosé had her trapped in between.
"Rosé, back off, please, "Y/N tried to say out loud as she looked to her side, uncomfortably.
"Go on then, "Rosé suggested, at which Y/N again looked at her with confusion.
"Excuse me?"
"Leave then, "Rosé said. "Leave just like you did before."
"Rosé--"
"But you did, "Rosé said. "You did leave me. Didn't you, Y/N?"
And then it all came back to pieces in front of Y/N. Rosé was answering the old wounds. In the past, she was laying them in front of her in pieces.
"We were over, Rosé. You know it, "Y/N said as she avoided looking into her eyes.
"We were so perfect together, Y/N, "Rosé said, for the first time in five years Y/N saw the same Rosé she fell in love with. "Where did it all go wrong? How did it end up like this, Y/N?"
"We needed the break, Rosé. Things weren't going... smoothly as they were before, "Y/N said, trying to think of better things to end the argument.
"But, we could've fought for it. We could've tried to talk the things out... Why did it have to be like this?" Rosé said, her voice cracking in between.
For Rosé to see so vulnerable in front of her, Y/N was dying to hug her in an instant and kiss all her worries away. But, it was too late for that.
They were too late for that.
"We weren't going to work, Rosé... You drifted apart from me, "Y/N, after a full five years, she laid out her true emotions in front of her ex.
"But, you could've brought me back, Y/N. You always did. You said that you will bring me back if I did anything stupid. Why didn't you stop me? Why?"
Now Rosé was crying out. Her façade of confidence came down in just a few seconds and there was that heartbroken girl. Desperate to speak her mind out.
"But, were you ready to listen? Were you?" Y/N asked.
Rosé wiped the tears from the back of her hand and replied, "I'm sorry."
Not after so many years, Y/N thought. "What?"
"I'm sorry--"
"No, stop it, "Y/N kept her palm in front of her. This was too much for her. Just thinking that they could've been better made her head hurt a thousand times harder. She couldn't take the confession that Rosé was about to say.
Not after everything that happened.
"Don't say it... Don't say it, please, "Y/N exhaled out a shaky breath as she closed her eyes and felt the overwhelming, dizzy emotions clouding her mind.
"Y/N, please. Listen to me, "Rosé insisted as she held Y/N's forearms with her cold hands.
"Rosé, no. We were over. You made it over, "Y/N said as she opened her eyes to get a view of Rosé's face.
She was now at the stage of bawling in front of her and Y/N knew that Rosé was holding back. She was holding back a lot.
And Y/N couldn't take it if she stayed there anymore. Freeing herself from her grip, Y/N stepped aside as she took in a deep breath.
"Happy Birthday, Rosé. Have a good night, "Y/N said without looking at her and was about to walk away when something unimaginable happened.
Rosé's lips were on hers.
Y/N had her eyes wide as she just looked at Rosé kissing her intensely, holding her tightly in her arms. Not wanting for her to go.
Rosé's hand slipped around her neck as she tilted her head to kiss her better. Y/N was too stunned to even do anything but the way Rosé's mouth felt too familiar with hers made her gradually close her eyes and return the kiss.
She moved her lips against hers. Fervently and cautiously, Rosé poured out her bottled-up emotions in her kiss. And Y/N felt every ounce of it.
For the moment, Y/N forgot that they had broken up five years ago.
The way Rosé's lips were moving made her feel at home again. She felt comfortable and most importantly, whole again.
If the same way Rosé held her back five years ago when she was leaving, Y/N would've stayed forever. Hell, she was contemplating if she was about to stay this time too.
Pulling apart for breathing, Rosé's rested her forehead against Y/N's as they shared the silence. For the first time in forever, it felt like before again.
"Please, don't leave, "Rosé's said out loud after a few moments.
Y/N opened her eyes as she looked into her eyes for the first time since the evening. They were beautiful brown orbs that Y/N loved adore every day a few years back.
"I can't live without you, please. I'm sorry. I know I fucked up real bad before... but please not this time, "Rosé blabbered out. "I can't live another day without you pretending that I'm okay. I can't date another person without comparing them to you. I can't love someone else other than you, Y/N."
Hearing those words from Rosé's mouth made Y/N feel thousands of mixed emotions at the same time. She was happy, sad, confused, and, of course, in love at the same time.
"I will do anything to make you stay. Just please don't leave. I know I was dumb to let you go back then. I know I made you sad when I was drifting apart from you, but... I'm not me without you, Y/N. I'm sorry for not working hard for our relationship. I'm sorry for not realizing that my love was way more than that for you. I love you. Yes, till this day, and will till my last breath, "Rosé rapped it all out in one breath.
And that caused Y/N to laugh a little.
"You're still prickly as before, "Y/N commented.
A light smile made its way across Rosé's face and she replied, "You make me like this. Every single time, Y/N."
They both shared a chuckle as they stared into each other's eyes. Saying the unsaid words and feeling each other's feelings.
"I understand your feelings, Rosie, "Y/N said and she saw Rosé smiling even more.
"What are you smiling about?"
"You called me by my nickname, "Rosé said and Y/N rolled her eyes at that.
It felt comfortable to do that around her. Just like before.
"I need time, "Y/N declared. "I... need time to process everything. The things you said, the things I feel, the... kiss we shared."
Rosé smiled before leaning forward and placing a light peck against her lips again.
Y/N was surprised at her antics.
"You have changed a lot, "Y/N said. "You wouldn't have kissed me like that before."
"Yeah, I did. After breaking up with you... I had to learn many things the harsh way, "Rosé replied, smiling bitterly.
"I think it wouldn't hurt to know this new Rosie, "Y/N said as she smiled at Rosé.
And Rosé, on the other hand, had her eyes wide in shock. "Really? I mean, will you give me a chance?"
"Yeah. I think you deserve a chance... I don't know if it's right or wrong, but I think I need to do that, "Y/N said.
Rosé smiled bashfully and hugged Y/N ever so tightly. She was screaming internally, but outwardly, she said.
"You won't regret giving me a second chance, Y/N. I will make you fall in love with me all over again."
