This can't happen. Me and her? No... It's wrong.
These types of denial thoughts ran inside Rosé's head as she looked at her star-of-an co-actor, Y/N L/N.
Exactly three months ago, they both signed up for a drama together. Y/N was already famous for her known roles in movies and series, whereas Rosé was a rookie actress. She came to be known through her last drama and people adored her.
However, the drama was not the problem for Rosé, it was the genre that they agreed to sign off.
Romance.
The last seven episodes were successful. They led their audience up to their character's accidental first meeting and their budding chemistry.
But, the last five episodes shot were an indication of leading up to a very important scene. A scene that the viewers wanted to see and had high anticipation about it.
The bedroom scene.
As the script said, the things between the characters were about to get hot and heavy. And today was the day they shot the scene together.
As Rosé got a touch-up on her makeup, she saw Y/N consulting with the director on the set. Her eyes betrayed her when they drank up the sight of her co-actor and somehow, in her heart, she didn't feel wrong.
In an oversized sweater with black and white stripes, paired with black ripped jeans, Y/N looked enchantingly dashing. A perfect definition of a handsome girlfriend.
Rosé couldn't help but imagine the scene that was on the script coming out on the screen. She found herself guilty of imagining all the sinful things and immediately shook her head.
Just a crush she had on Y/N and now it was proving to be dangerous.
The director's clap pulled her out of her dreamy trance and she briskly walked up on the set, standing a few feet away beside Y/N.
She glanced at her surroundings and nodded in appreciation. The set is considered a luxurious black and gray aesthetic bedroom with a floor-to-ceiling window on the side, showing off the view of the Seoul night cityscape.
They were shooting at night, a perfect time for the intense shoot to be executed.
Rosé flinched a little when she felt a warm hand over her uncovered shoulder and turned her head to the side to see Y/N smiling at her, charmingly.
"Are you ready?" Y/N asked, her resonating sound sending shivers down her spine.
Wordlessly, Rosé nodded and gave the director a subtle thumbs-up.
"Lights, camera, action!"
The cameras skidded forward and zoomed in on Rosé who was sitting on the edge of the bed while facing Y/N with a genuine smile.
"Thank you for today. I enjoyed it, "she said with affection, lacing her voice.
Y/N stifled a laugh as she looked down at her hands, replying, "I enjoyed the day too, Chaeyoung. Haven't had this much fun in a while."
With an eye smile, Rosé stood up from the bed and walked towards the window, her eyes intently looking at the view outside. She sighed while letting her hands stay loosely on either side of hers.
"The view from up here is so stunning, "she exclaimed while smiling toothless.
"Is it?" Y/N's voice came from behind and without looking back, Rose nodded in full agreement.
A few moments later, she felt a pair of secure arms snaking themselves around her waist as she felt a gush of hot breath in her ear.
"But, it's not as stunning as you, my love, "Y/N whispered and Rosé's eyes shut instinctively.
Goosebumps rose all over her body and she felt her heart thrumming inside her chest rapidly. A foreign feeling of warmness filled her insides and she almost whimpered at the proximity—
"Cut!"
—But, the director's voice pierced through the tension, making her shudder when Y/N moved away from her. She successfully stole a glance at Y/N's face and saw how her cheeks were also dusted pink.
Is it because of me? she thought.
"We will do a retake in a few minutes, "the director announced as Y/N was ushered away to her waiting chair behind the cameras.
As Rosé's manager rushed forward to say something, her eyes met with Y/N's amidst the crowd and she felt her insides burning with what she could say, fire. The eye contact was prolonged and Rosé realized that something changed at that moment.
She fell for her co-actor. Hard.
As the words rang in her head, Rosé's mouth fell open and she turned around instantly.
"No, this isn't happening. This can't be happening, "she muttered under her breath as her manager came forward.
"Rosé? Are you okay? You look like you saw a ghost, "the manager said while keeping a hand on her shoulder and giving it a subtle squeeze.
"I'm fine. Just remembered something, "she said. I'm not. I'm fucking in love with my co-actor, she thought.
"Anyways, you did a great job in that shot... You looked like you were truly in love with each other, "her manager said and laughed at the end as the horror of the sentence started weighing on Rosé's chest.
47. The relationship between the actors should remain platonic until the end of the drama.
That rule slipped out of her mind. How could she forget something like that so easily?
This shouldn't happen, she thought. It is just for drama.
Yet, was it?
"Okay! Everyone back to your positions, "the director said and the cameras and the staff took their positions behind the cameras as Y/N walked up towards Rosé.
Instead of saying anything, Y/N nodded without a word and had that grim look in her eyes that had a certain shallowness to them. An emotion was swimming behind them and Rosé didn't have enough time to decipher it.
Repositioning themselves in front of the mirror, Y/N came behind her and held her by her waist as Rosé's hands came to rest on them.
She swallowed the lump in her throat as she felt Y/N's hair slightly tickling her shoulders from behind. The whiff of her strong perfume made her head dizzy again and her heart hammered inside.
"And... action!"
Y/N's nose brushed against her cheek as she sighed out loud and tried to maintain the content smile that was threatening to waver.
"What are you doing?" Rosé's voice was barely above a whisper as the camera zoomed in on them.
Y/N's hand bunched her hair and set them aside as her breath caressed the skin of her neck. Rosé's heart was bouncing too hard, she thought it might burst through.
Her head tilted back as Y/N's soft lips brushed against her shoulder and she exhaled a shuddering breath.
"Please stay tonight, "Y/N's hoarse voice just close to her ear sent jolting sparks through her body, and on top of that, Y/N pressed her lips on her bare shoulder.
Her knees gave up as her hands held Y/N's arms tightly. She screwed shut her eyes as the sensation was too strong to ignore. She could feel her core shaking up at the intensity.
Y/N again pressed a kiss on her skin before pulling away and turning Rosé around in her arms. Rosé's eyes flew open as she gazed at Y/N's eyes that were covered in lust.
"Stay, "Y/N completed her dialogue and Rosé leaned forward, attaching their lips in a kiss that they both haven't shared before.
Y/N's arm slid around her waist as the other held her neck. Rosé's were on her shoulder as they deepened the kiss and to her, it all felt too real. The thought that they were acting and many people were watching them was thrown out of the window as she sneakily threaded her fingers through Y/N's hair.
Y/N led both of them to the bed as Rosé straddled her and Y/N tugged on the string of her dress, loosening it open. Rosé gasped in the kiss as she felt the cold air brushing her now newly exposed skin.
And before she was too lost in the touch, the director shouted, "And... CUT!"
Y/N cupped her cheeks and with a last kiss, pulled apart from her. Rosé's eyes remained closed as they both stayed like that for a moment before looking at each other. They shared a look that conveyed so much more than it intended to.
Fuck, Rosé thought. I'm screwed.
Pushing herself off the bed, Rosé exhaled and inhaled deeply as her eyes shyly looked away from Y/N's disheveled form.
However, the loud sound of clapping pulled them out and they both looked around to see that all of them were standing for them. A few hoots followed along with the applause as Y/N came to stand beside her with a sheepish grin on her face.
"That was perfect! You both have amazing chemistry!" the director said as he came forward with a hearty smile on his face.
Both of them bowed a little and Y/N said, "I believe we do have a certain rhythm."
Rosé's head whipped towards her and she swore she felt her face too warm for her liking. Y/N was earnestly looking at her and had a smile that made Rosé's heart skip for the umpteenth time.
No. This should not happen...
Rosé immediately fled away from there and to the bathroom. It was getting stuffy, she ran a frustrated hand over her face as her manager came into the view, worried.
"Hey, are you alright? You're looking red as a tomato, "the manager asked as she handed her a bottle of cold water.
Rosé drank up the water and sighed as she stared at her manager through the mirror on the wall, saying, "Tell them, I'll not reshoot this scene."
"I don't think you need to. The shot was perfect already and editing will turn it perfect-er if that's a word, "her manager said.
A silent wave of relief took over her and she hung her head down, cursing inwardly at how the situation turned out.
Getting feelings involved in this made this worse and nothing else. Rosé didn't know who to tell that everything she just acted was not just acting...
"...It was real, "she said out loud.
"What was real?"
"Nothing. Wait for me outside. I wanna go home, "she said as she started the faucet.
"Okay, well, the shoot has ended because the episode is complete already. I will tell them you aren't feeling well, "the manager said as she advanced towards the door.
"Thank you, "Rosé said as she took the water in her hand and splashed it on her face.
"And another thing!" the manager came back in and said, "Tomorrow they're organizing a cast party. You've to be present. Media will be there."
Without a word, Rosé gave her a soft hum in response and continued splashing the cold water until she was feeling cool enough to think straight.
After a few moments, she glanced up at her reflection in the mirror and saw the water droplets dripping down her face.
"She's just a co-actor, nothing else. Get this inside your head, Rosé, "she said while stabbing the mirror with her finger.
However, little did she know that this was not going to help her.

The next night, at the party.
After getting her photo clicked at the entrance of the venue and signing off some autographs, Rosé entered the venue which was a kind of mansion.
"Can't expect less from them, "Rosé muttered under her breath as she looked around and drank in the decorations of the mansion.
It was beautiful. Rosé settled on that thought and walked ahead as the other co-workers smiled at her or waved at her or talked to her as she passed by them.
Her manager came rushing beside her and filled her in on the things that happened before she arrived and what would happen for the rest of the event.
"Media is expecting you and Y/N to click some photos together, "the manager said and Rosé froze.
After the last night, she didn't see Y/N or bid her goodbye even. All she wanted was to avoid her for the rest of the day, but then she heard this.
"Is... it necessary? Our photo together?" she asked.
Her manager gave her a confused look and replied, "Of course it is necessary! You both are the lead actors in the drama. What do you expect?"
Rosé let out a sigh and said, "I'm sorry. You're right— I need a drink. Be right back."
Scurrying away from her manager, Rosé made her way to the small bar at the corner of the mansion and ordered a glass of scotch.
"Scotch. Neat, "she said and the bartender instantly presented her with a glass.
Rosé took the glass and gulped the searing liquid down in one go before setting the glass right back on the counter, saying, "One more."
After finishing up to five glasses, she felt somewhat lightheaded and relaxed. Turning around with another glass in her hand, her eyes fell upon the one that brought in that situation.
Y/N.
Her eyes traveled the height of Y/N as she saw how dapper she looked in her simple white shirt and pants. It was appealing to Rosé in so many ways, but she looked away, telling herself that this was wrong.
But, then she saw another woman standing beside Y/N. The woman had her hand over Y/N's forearm as she flicked her hair to the side. Rosé tsked internally as she thought that the woman was flirting with her.
She looked away and drank up the drink in her hand. The sound of Y/N's laugh made her look back at her and something inside her churned that caused her jaw to clench and eyes to glare.
Jealousy.
Keeping her glass on the counter, Rosé walked straight to the duo as her fists were clenched to her sides. The alcohol was taking a toll on her and she was far away from thinking rationally.
As she neared the duo, her insides were fuming with anger. She inched near them and slid her hand in Y/N's as she stood next to her with a smile.
"Hey, Y/N."
Y/N got flustered for a second as she realized how close Rosé was standing and how her hand was intertwined with hers. Standing a little straighter, she cleared her throat and returned the smile.
Rosé clung to her arm and looked at the woman Y/N was talking to. "Am I interrupting something?"
"O-Oh, no. You didn't—"
"Great. We're expected somewhere. If you'll excuse us, "with that said, Rosé took Y/N away with her.
...And instead of taking her to the photography zone, Rosé led her to a room at the far end of the hallway. She opened the door and ushered Y/N in and closed it behind her.
"We're... expected to be here?" Y/N asked as she looked around the room that was lit with a small lamp on the bedside tables.
Rosé's heart started racing as she realized what she did at the last minute.
Oh no.
"Rosé, why did you bring me here?" Y/N asked and all Rosé thought of was the proximity between them.
Y/N's hand came to rest upon her forearm and she gasped out loud, causing Y/N to pull her hand back.
"R-Rosé? Are you—"
"Did it mean something to you?" Rosé asked and Y/N's eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
"What meant something to me?" Y/N retorted.
Stepping forward, Rosé bravely gazed into Y/N's eyes and asked, "Did the scene we did yesterday mean something to you?"
And for the moment, Y/N froze as her eyes widened and jaw slacked slightly.
"Because for me... I fell in love with you, Y/N, "Rosé confessed.
It would've been the alcohol that was doing the talk, but she was pretty much sober at that point.
"I know this is not how it goes, but... I can't force myself to conceal my feelings anymore. I've fallen for you, but this is not how it is supposed to be, is it?" Rosé was almost on the verge of crying.
Y/N watched how Rosé was almost having a mini panic attack in front of her. Her hands were trembling as well as her words. The girl looked so vulnerable in front of her.
"I suppose it should not, "Y/N said and Rosé looked away from her while trying hard to stop her breaking heart.
"You're supposed to be here in my arms and kiss me."
What?
Rosé looked at Y/N instantly with what seemed like a mixture of shock and surprise in her expression.
Y/N inched closer and slid her arm around Rosé's waist. She pulled her closer with a jerk and now they both were just a breath away from each other.
"I may not show it... because I've got a job to keep. But, look, here I am, risking everything just for you. To say that I've fallen for you too, Rosé."
"R-Really?" Rosé asked.
Y/N gave her nose a nudge of her own and replied, "I think so. This crazy beating of heart, this longingly looking at you from far away, this always missing when you're not around is not normal, I guess. Is it?"
Rosé smiled, genuinely, and melted in her arms, saying, "I suppose not."
