It was the day that Yeji longed for.
Holiday.
Being working continuously for the comeback and practicing endlessly, she finally got the week to herself, to finally calm down and let loose, or maybe relax a bit.
After finishing up the last recording session, Yeji waved the girls goodbye and went home immediately. She wanted to see her girlfriend very much.
The ride home was dreadful, she couldn't help but tap her foot continually or shift in her seat restlessly. The patience she had for so long was now wearing out. She couldn't think of anything else but her girlfriend's arms that provided her unending warmth.
A smile graced her lips as she peered outside the window. Her apartment was just a few meters away. She hurriedly held her belongings in her hands, not wanting to waste a second being with her girlfriend.
As the car stopped, her manager unlocked the car and Yeji practically dashed out of it.
"Take care!" the manager shouted from behind and Yeji just gave him a thumbs-up in return.
Yeji's heart pounded in her chest as she pressed the button of the elevator, waiting for the doors to open. She was far too excited to spend some time with her girl.
As the doors opened, Yeji got inside and pressed the button on her floor as she watched the doors closing. She turned around and gave herself a once-over in the mirror behind. To her, it felt like a date when it really wasn't.
It was just the trepidation of the wait and distance in her.
Then, the doors opened and Yeji stepped out, her footsteps slow as her heart raced inside. It had been too long since she would see Y/N awake and welcoming her. Every day since last month, Yeji had to go early in the morning before Y/N woke up and she came at night when Y/N was deep in sleep.
They couldn't get the time for themselves. To do all the couple-y things.
Standing in front of her apartment door, Yeji took in a deep breath as the smile that she had since she left the studio didn't fade a bit. Looking at the doorbell button, she pressed it and listened to the bell ringing inside.
After a few moments, Yeji heard the sounds of the hurried footsteps and the sound of falling something too. At that, she couldn't help but chuckle as she clutched her bag of belongings tightly in her hand.
At last, the door flew open and there stood Y/N, wearing a hoodie with her hair tied in a ponytail and a slice of pizza in her hand.
"Hey, Y/N, "Yeji softly said as her heart melted at the sight.
Y/N stared at her for a few seconds and then smiled broadly, realizing that her girlfriend was finally home for her holidays.
"Yeji!"
Y/N pulled Yeji in by her hand and closed the door behind her as she rushed in and put the pizza back in its place before turning around to give her full attention to her girlfriend.
Yeji kept her bag on the chair of the dining table as she saw Y/N coming toward her. She opened her arms, indicating Y/N to take her in her arms, but Y/N paused her.
Saying, "Go get freshen up first. Then you will get as many hugs and kisses as you want."
Yeji pouted at that but, nonetheless, followed the orders. She picked up her bag and went into their bedroom, showering and freshening up. She deliberately wore one of Y/N's sweatshirts, wanting to feel closer to her and make up for the lost time.
Walking out of the bedroom, she walked into the living room where Y/N was setting up a few things. Sneakily walking behind her, Yeji wrapped her arms around Y/N's torso and hugged her tightly.
Y/N froze instantly and then let out a laugh, saying, "Love? Let me set things first. You'll get your hugs soon. I promise."
Yeji whined a little at that but again obeyed as she pulled away with the last snuggle and saw Y/N setting the blanket and pillows on the couch.
When everything was as Y/N desired, she turned around and saw Yeji adoringly gazing at her. She smiled and opened her arms, nodding for her to hug her. Yeji immediately rushed to have her hug and Y/N embraced her as promised.
"Hey, love. How was your day?" Y/N asked as she sighed, feeling Yeji fully pressed against her, emitting warmth.
Yeji nuzzled her head deep in Y/N's crook of the neck as she smiled blissfully. She was home, certainly.
"Don't talk. Just give me hugs, "she said, causing Y/N to laugh and press a kiss on the top of her head.
"Okay, as you wish, "Y/N said, smiling broadly and closing her eyes.
Enjoying the feeling.
Eventually, Yeji pulled apart and Y/N saw her eyes filled with tears. She cupped her cheeks and caressed the skin beneath, eyebrows furrowed with worry.
"Yeji? What is it?" Y/N asked, her voice low and quiet.
With a sniffle, Yeji looked up and tried to dry her tears as she gulped the lump in her throat. She shook her head with closed eyes and again crashed in Y/N's arms.
Y/N stroked her hair as she asked, "Yeji? Please, tell me. What happened?"
"I missed you, "Yeji's tiny voice replied. "I missed you so much, Y/N. This past month was so hectic that I felt like crying every time. I couldn't see you properly because of my schedule and couldn't spend time with you. It all felt so... impossible."
Y/N gave her frame a tight squeeze. Just watching her cry or even listening to her talking about it, shattered Y/N's heart inside. She hated seeing that.
"I got you, love. Don't worry. You're here now. I'm with you. Everything will be fine, "Y/N whispered to her as they both swayed side to side, unknowingly.
Pulling apart, Y/N tucked a hair strand behind her ear as she gave her a smile that Yeji returned with the same intensity.
"I missed you too, "Y/N said and leaned in for a warm and very soft kiss.
Yeji sighed in the kiss as she tilted her head and held Y/N's hoodie in her hands. This was overdue and Yeji felt her heart fluttering inside. She groaned lightly when Y/N wrapped her arm around her waist and gave it a subtle squeeze of affection.
Yeji's hands came to rest on Y/N's shoulder as Y/N smiled against her lips. She pulled apart before giving her a last chaste kiss. Yeji, on the other hand, pouted with disappointment.
Y/N asked, "What?"
"I thought we were... Never mind, "Yeji shrugged off and decided to sit on the couch.
Y/N laughed secretly as she carefully settled beside her and looked at her. Yeji was setting the blanket as she put it on top of herself and leaned back while looking at the tv.
She turned her head to see Y/N intently looking at her and asked, "What?"
"You tell me, "Y/N said and tilted her head, asking, "What were you thinking?"
Yeji blushed a little as she averted her eyes away and replied, "N-Nothing."
Y/N leaned closer to her as Yeji gasped with wide eyes at the proximity, causing Y/N to chuckle out loud.
"You know, you're cute when you're flustered. But, I promise, next time. You're tired right now, "Y/N said and pulled away as Yeji blushed furiously at her statement.
Y/N picked up the remote and turned on Netflix. They both decided on a movie and ate the pizza that Y/N ordered before.
"How is it?" Y/N asked.
Yeji hummed while nodding as she chewed on the pizza with delight. "Amay-zing!"
Y/N smiled as she wiped off the remaining from the corner of her lips and said, "Glad you like it."
After they both finished the pizza, they both decided to cuddle on the couch. Yeji sighed with contentment for the umpteenth time as she nestled closer to Y/N.
"How was your day? Did anything interesting happen?" Y/N asked.
And then Yeji started on a whole day journey with millions of expressions and cute little voices to emphasize her point. Y/N listened to everything with a smile on her face all the time. She was happy seeing her girlfriend happy.
When Yeji felt that Y/N wasn't reacting anymore, she tilted her head upward and saw Y/N grinning at her, causing her to smile.
"Why are you smiling like that?" she asked.
Y/N shook her head and said, "I just love you."
Yeji craned her neck a little and pressed a kiss against her lips, replying, "I love you too, Y/N."
Yeji was finally home.
