It was the moment that Y/N longed for.
After coming home from a long one-month business trip, she was finally home. But, still, her home was not here.
She was still searching through various faces outside the airport on a rainy night to find the face that she yearned to look at or maybe kiss too.
Suddenly, her phone rang in her jean pocket as she dropped her purse and kept it on her rolling luggage. She took out her phone and her eyes lit up with what was on the screen.
Karina.
Just the display of her name made Y/N's heart race a little. She smiled broadly before sliding the answer button and placing the phone on her ear.
"Hello?"
"Look up, "Just the notion of the sentence made her head jerk up in an instant to look up.
And there she was, her purple-haired girlfriend wearing the biggest of smiles. She was holding an umbrella above her head as her other hand was occupied with the phone.
It was a sight to behold.
Karina looked dazzling in her high-collared top and her leather jacket, matching the jeans she knew only too well, it was her own. Y/N had the greatest urge to run toward her and kiss her sweet lips as if there was no tomorrow.
But, Karina made the first move.
"I'm coming. Wait there, "Y/N heard and they ended the call.
She watched her girl looking at the cars that were passing in front of her. She was on the other side of the road. Y/N was jumping in anticipation as she watched Karina finally walk up to her.
As she neared Y/N, their heartbeats thundered inside. The feeling was very much mutual. They longed for each other and now no one could separate them apart.
Or as they thought so.
The time felt slow as Y/N's eyes met Karina's and in the next second, they were wide in horror as she watched a car hitting her girlfriend in front of her eyes.
"NO!"

"Y/N! Wake up!"
The distinct voice made Y/N sit up instantly as she panted heavily. She was sweating hard as her eyes quivered to look around her surroundings.
She was in her room.
"A nightmare..." she whispered under her breath and turned her head to look at the source of the voice.
But, found her breath hitching in her throat and her heart clenching inside tightly.
Karina was in a wheelchair and her head was bandaged and there was a cast on her right leg.
It was not a nightmare.
"Bad dream?" Karina asked as her brows creased in worry as she looked at Y/N.
Y/N bit her lower lip as she looked away from Karina and pulled her knees up to her chest, hugging them tightly. She wanted to sob out loud, but she couldn't. Somewhere the thought of stressing up Karina didn't let her.
"Y/N? Baby? Please look at me, "Karina pleaded as she tried to inch closer, but her wheelchair didn't allow her to.
"I-I'm fine. Really. You don't have to worry, Karina, "Y/N said, but the crack in her voice gave the emotions away.
"I know you're not okay. But, you won't ever be if you don't talk to me. Please tell me what's bothering you, "Karina said, her soft voice coaxing Y/N.
Y/N closed her eyes to stop the tears that were welling up and gulped the lump in her throat. She exhaled slowly and turned herself to face Karina fully.
"I... don't want to stress you, "Y/N said her voice low.
Karina's hand came to rest on Y/N's knee and squeezed it as she said, "You can never, Y/N. You can never stress me even if you tried. Just, please, talk to me."
Y/N stared at her for a few moments, taking in every detail of her girlfriend's little scarred face, and said, "I had a nightmare if you can call it that."
"What happened in it?"
"Your accident flashed through my eyes and again, in my dreams also, I couldn't do anything. I couldn't save you from that, "Y/N said, her voice trembling at the end.
"Oh, Y/N..." Karina couldn't bear looking at Y/N being so fragile and so tense up.
She rested her hands on the arms of the chair and used her strength to make herself stand. Y/N instantly helped her as she held her hands for support.
"Karina, why are you-"
But, instead of listening, Karina came closer and straddled Y/N on the bed. She winced slightly when her casted leg tilted a little, but it was nothing. She would do it all over again for Y/N if she had to.
"Karina, your leg-"
"Shh. Don't speak, "Karina placed her index finger on Y/N's lips, shushing her.
Y/N looked down at her leg as she held Karina close by keeping her hands steadily on her waist. She looked up to see Karina intensely staring at her.
Karina's hands came to rest upon Y/N's shoulders and she gently dug her fingers into them, feeling the tight knots in there.
"You're so tense, baby. Relax, "she softly said. She heard Y/N sighing when she started massaging her shoulders.
Karina's hands expertly pressurized Y/N's shoulders and neck on the spots that made the latter groan lightly. It was working, Y/N was relaxing as her eyes closed and a small smile graced her lips.
"How does it feel?"
"Relaxing. Thanks, love, "Y/N said as her head rested against Karina's right shoulder.
"Glad to be of service, "Karina joked, making her girlfriend chuckle in response.
She, then, threaded her fingers through Y/N's hair and cupped her cheek to look at her. Y/N's eyes were glassy with tears as Karina caressed the skin of her cheek with her thumb.
"I'm scared to lose you again, Karina, "Y/N said, her voice barely above a whisper.
"You'll never lose me. Never, "Karina replied.
Y/N took in a shaky breath, saying, "That night, when the car hit you, I was shattered, Karina. It was the worst feeling I felt at that moment. When I ran to you and held your limp body, I thought I might not see you again. It was... horrifying."
Karina could feel the girl trembling beneath her. It broke her heart too, to see Y/N like that, scared and scarred.
But, she was determined to make Y/N forget everything related to her accident and make new happy memories instead.
Holding her chin, she tilted Y/N's head and made the latter look into her eyes.
She firmly said, "What happened... is in the past. I'm getting better every day, Y/N. Everything's fine. Everything's gonna be fine. You'll never see a day without me. I'll always be there with you, by your side. Always."
And with that, she gently pressed her lips against Y/N's in a kiss. A kiss that they both needed.
Y/N's mouth parted a little as she let Karina take the lead. Her hand slithered inside Karina's t-shirt as she caressed the warm skin beneath her fingers.
Karina shivered due to light touches as she weaved her fingers further into Y/N's hair, deepening the kiss. She tilted her head just enough to move her mouth freely.
A deep sigh escaped Y/N's lips as she kissed her girlfriend, but was taken aback a little when Karina pushed her slightly. Taking up to the sign, she laid down on the bed as Karina hovered above her, without breaking the kiss for a second.
A mutual shiver went down their spines as Karina nipped on Y/N's lower lip, wanting to go in further.
Y/N hesitated for a moment but gave in when Karina desperately kissed her jaw to cajole her. She opened up her mouth and was met by Karina's warm tongue, eagerly trying to explore more.
The urge to take her there on the bed increased with the intensity of the kiss but Y/N controlled it. She knowingly bit harshly on Karina's lower lip, making the latter groan and pull back.
"That hurts, Y/N!" Karina said as she lifted her hand to check her lip for any sign of blood.
Y/N gazed at her before she burst into laughter. A full-fledged laugh, caused Karina to look down at her with a satisfied smile.
"You are laughing, "Karina said, and that caused Y/N's laughter to die down slowly.
She was still stifling a chuckle as she realized that, yes, she was laughing, after a very long time.
Because of Karina.
"I missed your laugh, "Karina said as she dropped down and nestled her head in the crook of Y/N's neck.
Y/N's hand automatically came to stroke her hair. She exhaled deeply and replied, "I missed it too. Thank you for bringing it back."
Karina tilted her head just enough to press a kiss against Y/N's neck and replied, "Anytime, baby."
Y/N chuckled again at the cheesiness in her voice, saying, "Your cheesiness is still the same as before. Cringe."
Karina lifted her head to glare at her, cutely. "Hey! It's not cringing."
Y/N playfully rolled her eyes, replying, "Sure. Whatever makes you sleep at night, darling."
"I hate you, "Karina slammed her head into Y/N's chest, causing the other one to groan in pain.
But, she replied with a sweet smile on her face, "I love you too, Karina. So very much."
For a few moments, Karina didn't say anything. However, Y/N felt something scribbled on her stomach.
I...L...O...V...E...Y...O...U...T...O...O...
"Again, cringe."
"It's not!"
