I had gone back to the museum over the river, by the school and where I told Cody once that he could stay there.... Talking about Cody....
"Will you walk faster man?" I asked, looking over my shoulder.
"I am I am, jeez calm down."
"We are here because of you so be faster."
"What crawled up you ass and died?"
"Shut up." Nightmares, they never really bothered me before, I supposed because being awake was nightmare enough, my thoughts being at peace at night.
Plus I never had to worry about someone like I do now, even if I set out and gave myself a year, there is little to no chance to run in with Jasmine... For once I miss technology a fuck tonne, I missed it before but never as much as today since a phone call could have fixed all my worries, to hear her voice on the other end of a call.
I pushed the doors open and went inside to building.
"You are sure you want to be the main husk killer?" I ask as I walked through the halls. "It is important that you check the fencing multiple times a day and scout around too to kill those that wander into town... And that you burn them."
"I know, that's what I am good at, I didn't have a profession before this like some of you."
"Adar was into astrology if I remember right, Lucy is a starting tattoo artist and I was a biology student, sure we had professions but we didn't survive because of them."
"I just want to be of use and survive."
"Just like the rest of us." I led him to a room.
I looked around, it was the one with the armors in the vitrines.
"They will probably be heavy so like I was thinking taking like only the chest piece or something, and putting it on you, could be useful, I've never seen a human, dead or alive, bite through metal."
"You know leather clothes or contact sports equipment would help too."
"Do you want us to go get contact sports equipment?"
"Oh heck no." He walked to the vitrine, puffing out his chest with a smirk. "Sir Cody, knight of Rain Point, at your service."
"Well, lets break in." I pushed him back a bit and smashed the bat through the glass the crumbled at me feet as I covered my face in case there were shards that flew upwards.
I grabbed a pair of articulated gauntlets off the display and threw then to Cody.
"Try these on, I was thinking breastplate and arm protection as you shouldn't over encumber yourself with weight and should be able to move freely, if these don't fit... Well we have a whole museum here and near to the School to look through to find the fitting pair of armor for the future armored lad."
"So cool, I always wished to wear one of these when I went to the museum with my parents." He pulled them on, struggling a bit.
"Yeah... I think all kids did..." I sighed... Parents, people in general... I miss them all... "So, they fit?"
"No, this dude had huge hands."
"Then lets not even try the breastplate, should also be bigger."
"What about that one?" He pointed at the vitrine next to this one, the armor did seem smaller.
"Welp." I raised the bat. "Only one way to find out.)
