Andrea looked at Lenka with a confused expression, not understanding why she suddenly reacted that way.
A minute passed, and the nurse was still in shock, her hand holding the patient registration form shaking uncontrollably.
Andrea completely lost her patience, and her tone was no longer polite. "Hey, Lenka, what's wrong with you? What's the problem with her name being Kaia? And why did you lie to me? Kaia is staying in Room 308. Why did you say it was Dr. Bennett? Tell me. Which room is Dr. Bennett staying in?"
The nurse's thoughts were interrupted, and she raised her stiff neck, staring straight at Andrea.
She had a thousand things to say but didn't know how to put them into words.
"I get it now!" Andrea's eyes widened, her face full of anger as she stared at the nurse. "Kaia bribed you, didn't she? She didn't want you to tell me where Dr. Bennett was. She's afraid I might get noticed by Dr. Bennett. After all, I'm exceptionally talented. She's worried that if I really get into Dr. Bennett's lab, she'll have no place in this city! Isn't that right?"
Lenka's mouth opened wider and wider.
To Andrea, the nurse's silence meant admission.
"Good for you, Lenka Archer! I trusted you so much and treated you with respect, but you've been playing me for a fool! Give me my bag back!" Andrea shouted.
She was completely enraged and snatched the bag roughly from Lenka's hand.
Andrea snapped, "Don't expect any more favors from me! Also, I don't know what Kaia used to bribe you, but her money is ill-gotten. You must have heard that she is kept by a disgusting old man and is his mistress. Once this comes out, and his wife comes knocking, Kaia will be screwed. And you still accepted her money?"
Lenka frowned. "Andrea, watch your mouth. You're saying Kaia is being kept. Did you see it with your own eyes?"
"That's right, I did see it with my own eyes. Not just me, but all the guests at my engagement party that day saw her being picked up by a luxury car," Andrea said firmly.
Lenka refuted, "Just because she was picked up by a luxury car, you assume she's being kept. Andrea, have you never ridden in someone else's luxury car? If you have, does that mean you betrayed Mr. Ross and are being kept too?"
Andrea snarled, "Don't compare me to Kaia. She's nowhere near my level!"
She tilted her chin with such disdain, as if being compared to Kaia was beneath her.
When Lenka saw her face, she couldn't help but burst out laughing.
"What are you laughing at?" Andrea glared angrily at the nurse.
Lenka pursed her lips and said, "It's none of your business. Take that bag if you want. I don't want to have anything to do with people like you in the future, or your family."
Andrea was furious. She couldn't believe a poor person like Lenka talked to her like that. So she was more certain that Kaia must have given Lenka plenty of benefits.
"I'll just sit here and wait for the day the old man's wife tears Kaia apart. When that day comes, I will definitely tell that wife that you are Kaia's accomplice!" threatened Andrea.
