Kaia had guessed they would ask, so she had prepared in advance.
She answered, "My last name is Dean."
Kaia used her adoptive mother Willa's maiden name.
"Dr. Dean, would you like to have dinner together?" Tobias asked.
Kaia lowered her eyes, knowing that Tobias had not dispelled his doubts.
Since that was the case, she might as well use it to her advantage.
"Since Mr. Moreno is eager to invite me, I won't stand on ceremony."
Soon, they went to Splendor Hotel together and booked the most luxurious private room.
After ordering a large table of dishes, Tobias raised his glass. "To you, Dr. Dean."
Kaia reached out to take off the mask on her face, noticing that Tobias was staring at her without blinking.
After taking off her mask, Kaia picked up her glass and clinked it against Tobias's.
After seeing Kaia's face clearly, Tobias lowered his eyes without any expression.
Sure enough, he was overthinking it.
Tobias returned to the villa after 8 p.m.
Kaia was sitting on the sofa watching the news.
"You're really different from most girls. Few girls like to watch the news." Tobias naturally walked over and sat next to Kaia.
They were very close, almost touching.
Kaia shifted uncomfortably. "How's your grandma's treatment?"
Tobias replied, "That doctor is very skilled. Grandma will be completely cured in six months."
"That's indeed impressive," Kaia replied calmly.
Tobias had been observing Kaia. Kaia's gaze remained on the TV, and her emotions didn't fluctuate in the slightest.
"When will Pioneer Retreat be fully developed?" Tobias asked, frowning.
"Conrad said it would be completed next month, around the time school is about to start," Kaia replied, still watching TV.
Suddenly, Tobias reached out, grabbed Kaia's shoulders, and turned her body to face him.
He said, "Can you not move away?"
There was a hint of pleading in the man's voice.
Kaia's heart softened for a moment, but reason quickly overcame emotion.
She said softly, "I feel like I am your mistress this way. I don't like this feeling."
Tobias denied it. "I wouldn't think that way."
"I would." Kaia's tone was firm, and she was determined to move out.
She had nothing to do with Tobias anymore, and it was not right to continue living there.
Seeing that Kaia had made up her mind, Tobias didn't force it anymore. In fact, he had known this was the result, but he was just unwilling to give up.
He changed the subject. "Do you remember you still owe me a favor?"
Kaia remembered that. When she participated in the final racing competition last time, she had promised Tobias that as long as the condition was not too excessive, she would agree.
She asked, "Tell me, what's the condition?"
Tobias said, "This Saturday, I want to take you to the beach, just the two of us."
Kaia heard what he meant. "Are you going to clear the beach?"
"Smart girl, as expected of the person I have my eyes on," Tobias said with a proud look.
Kaia was left speechless.
He pressed, "Do you agree? This request isn't too much, is it?"
After thinking for two seconds, Kaia asked, "You don't want me to wear some revealing swimsuit, do you?"
"Do you think I'm that kind of lewd person?" Despite Tobias's calm demeanor, he had actually had this thought before.
Kaia pondered for another two seconds, then her pupils suddenly dilated, and she looked at Tobias. "You're not going to be naked, are you?"
Tobias smiled, a smile as gentle as a spring breeze. "If you want to see it, I can wear nothing at all."
