"Let me tell you, Philip, my honey, is treating us to dinner today. If it weren't for him, would you even be able to come to such a fancy place?"
The other classmates started gossiping, and Noelle's words were particularly nasty.
"Casey is right. Kaia, we are all here thanks to Casey. But you're insulting her, and as your classmates, we really can't stand it. Guys, don't you agree?"
Noelle was deliberately setting the pace, but what she said was true. If it weren't for benefiting from Casey, some of them would probably never dare to spend money in such a fancy place in their entire lives.
One classmate said, "Kaia, you really shouldn't be like this. Apologize to Casey. We are all classmates, and Casey is so generous. As long as you apologize, I believe she will forgive you."
Another one interrupted, "That's right. You won't lose anything by apologizing. Casey's boyfriend is Philip. If Philip inherits the Snyder Hotel, then Casey will be the owner of it.
"Although the Snyder Hotel hasn't successfully upgraded to a five-star hotel, it's still a four-star hotel in Morganburg! And just because it hasn't succeeded now doesn't mean it won't succeed in the future!"
The classmates were chiming in one after another.
Lucy couldn't stand it anymore. "Hey, you are classmates, not Casey's lackeys. And from beginning to end, Casey has been the one proactively looking for trouble with Kaia. It has nothing to do with Kaia.
"And have you forgotten that you guys made a bet with Kaia that if Kaia got into Morganburg University, you would all shave your heads? Kaia didn't even bother to argue with you about this, and you're turning around and making trouble for Kaia. Do you have any shame?"
Lucy's words made everyone afraid to speak for a moment, fearing that if they spoke up, Kaia would force them to shave their heads.
Of course, there were always some who were bolder, like Noelle, who often received benefits from Casey.
Noelle began, "That's quite another matter. Kaia was bullying Casey just now, and everyone saw it. Casey tried to be nice to Kaia first, but Kaia ignored her. People like Kaia should get kicked out."
Saying that, Noelle's sharp eyes met Kaia's. "Kaia, you are really shameless. If I were you, since I am freeloading at the party, I would behave myself and keep a low profile instead of being so arrogant."
"You're being too harsh. What do you mean by that? Do you think..." Before Lucy could finish speaking, Kaia stopped her.
Lucy shouted, "Kaia, don't stop me. This is really infuriating!"
"Calm down. You'll vent your anger soon." Kaia said with a faint smile.
Lucy's eyes lit up. "Have you come up with a good idea?"
"Just wait, no more than five minutes," Kaia said confidently.
Hearing Kaia say so, Lucy stopped arguing with them and sat quietly aside, waiting.
Noelle scoffed dismissively. "She should have behaved earlier. If she dares to cross Casey again, she won't even get dinner tonight and will be kicked out of the private room. She'll be utterly humiliated."
Casey's mouth curved upward, her eyes full of disdain as she looked at Kaia.
"The teachers have all arrived. Let's take our seats." Casey invited everyone to take their seats with the demeanor of the party's host.
She had just sat down when Philip pushed the door open and barged in.
"Philip, you've finally arrived. We were just waiting for you."
Philip rushed to Casey, rage burning within him. He rudely grabbed her collar, so angry that the veins on his forehead bulged.
He barked, "Casey! What trouble have you stirred up this time? I must have been cursed to be with a troublemaker like you! I'm telling you, starting today, I have nothing to do with you!"
