Looking at the not-so-broad, even slender back, Kaia thought of Donald, who had stood in front of her in the same way some time ago.
This family were all good people.
Lilian's words implied that Madeline was ill-mannered.
Lester and Judith's faces changed color dramatically, shifting from livid to purple. "Lilian, isn't that a bit much?"
Lilian said, "A bit much? Was it your daughter who crossed the line? Your daughter is always so arrogant and domineering, showing no respect for her elders and speaking to us without any manners.
"We let it go because she is younger and we didn't want to argue with her. It's my fiftieth birthday today, and in front of everyone, she spoke to me like that. Penny has never behaved so rudely in front of your family."
Lester and the other were speechless because they were in the wrong today.
Judith forced a smile. "Yes, you're right. Madeline was rude."
Madeline widened her eyes. "Mom—"
"Alright, Madeline, stop it. You're not a child, and you still don't know any manners. Don't forget, we're here to celebrate your aunt's birthday today. Didn't you prepare a gift? Hurry up and give it to your aunt."
Madeline held back her anger and took out the gift.
"Aunt Lilian, I saved up my pocket money for a long time to buy you this ginseng. Your health is not good, so please use it to nourish yourself."
"Okay, thank you." Lilian took it and handed it to Penny.
Penny opened it and muttered, "This ginseng is so small, and it doesn't look wild. It's definitely not worth anything. They all treat us like fools, giving this stuff to my mom . Aren't they afraid it might kill her?"
Kaia took a look and immediately made a judgment.
She said, "Cultivated ginseng that is less than three years old is not strong enough to be fatal if consumed, but given godmother's current health condition, drinking it would be of no benefit.."
Penny stared at Kaia with a puzzled expression. "How do you know how my mom's health is right now?"
"When she pulled me over just now, I took her pulse," Kaia explained.
Penny's eyes widened. "You know medical skills?"
"Yes, I've learned some. After the party ends later, I want to give Auntie a good pulse diagnosis."
Kaia had heard that Lilian was not in good health, so she brought a medical kit for treatment when she came.
"Are your medical skills that good?" Penny didn't dare to underestimate Kaia now.
After a moment of silence, Kaia leaned in close to Penny's ear and said, "If I told you that I am Dr. Miracle who treated the mother of the SR Alliance boss, would you believe it?"
Penny nodded seriously. "I believe you. I also have a secret to tell you."
"What is it?" Kaia asked.
"Actually, I am Dr. Bennett, known to everyone in Morganburg."
Kaia was lost for words.
"Hahaha…" Penny looked at Kaia's frozen face and couldn't help but laugh out loud.
"How about it? My joke is funnier than yours, right?" Penny chuckled.
Kaia raised her hand to her forehead.
She decided that she wouldn't reveal her identity in the future. Anyway, no one would believe her even if she did.
After presenting her gift, Madeline targeted Kaia again.
She said, "Kaia, you're my aunt's goddaughter now. Today is her fiftieth birthday. You didn't come empty-handed, did you?"
Penny and Lilian stood up almost at the same time.
"Madeline, why are you always making trouble for Kaia? Has she offended you?" said Penny.
