Griffin slapped the tattooed man on the back of the head. "You motherfucker, kneel down and kowtow to her in apology!"
The tattooed man's brain buzzed, partly because Griffin had hit him too hard, and partly because he couldn't believe what Griffin was saying.
"Are you deaf, you motherfucker? Didn't you hear me? Kneel down!" Griffin slapped the tattooed man on the back of the head again.
This time it was even harder than before, because Griffin was anxious and afraid of being implicated.
"Ouch!" The tattooed man clutched the back of his head, grimacing in pain.
"If you don't kneel down, I'll break your legs!" Griffin was so anxious that sweat broke out on his forehead.
Although the tattooed man didn't know what was going on, he had no choice but to kneel down to Kaia given the current situation.
Griffin came to Kaia with a smile and said in a flattering tone, "Miss Bennett, this has nothing to do with me! I didn't know what happened here, let alone that this bastard had offended you!"
Everyone, including the tattooed man, was stunned by Griffin's fawning posture.
Griffin was the direct grandson of the Moreno family, always a big shot with his head held high. Now he was actually trying to please a girl.
Kaia glanced at the tattooed man and others. "They just said that you are their boss. He brought those lackeys and wanted Penny and me to accompany them. This is your territory. As the saying goes, 'If the upper beam is not straight, the lower beam will be crooked.' You must usually do this, so they followed suit. Be honest, how many innocent girls have you harmed with these people here?"
"I didn't! I'm wronged!" Griffin was about to cry.
"Miss Bennett, I swear, I have turned over a new leaf. Really! If I lie to you, may I die a horrible death! After the last incident, I realized that there is always someone better. I suddenly woke up and decided to correct my mistakes.
"Morganburg is not the territory of my Moreno family alone. I used to be a trust fund kid, always thinking that I was superior and could decide the life and death of others.
"To make up for the mistakes I have made, I have donated almost all the money I earned from running the bar to orphanages and poor and backward areas in the west these days. If you don't believe me, you can ask Tobias to investigate. I would never dare to tell a half-truth in front of you!"
Penny looked at Griffin, who was really shedding tears, and was so shocked that she couldn't describe it in words.
Now Penny has judged that the person in front of her should be Griffin's cousin. Even if Tobias was currently pursuing Kaia, how could Griffin, as a direct descendant of the Moreno family, be so obsequious to Kaia?
Shouldn't be? Could it be that some unknown things happened between them, which led to Griffin being so afraid of Kaia?
The more Penny thought about it, the more curious she became. She looked at Kaia's profile, and her intuition told her that Kaia would bring her more surprises in the future.
"I have investigated this matter, and what he said is true." Joel walked out of the crowd.
Penny was stunned again, "Joel, why are you here? When did you come?"
Hearing Penny ask this, Griffin complained in his heart, 'Joel is Dr. Bennett's bodyguard, where else would he be if he wasn't here?'
Kaia naturally believed what Joel said.
