"Okay, we promise you!" These words came out of Isaac's and Maisie's teeth.
Kaia could hear the reluctance of the two families, but she had already achieved her desired goal.
"Verbal agreements mean nothing. Let's sign an agreement." Kaia handed the prepared agreement to the two families.
After a careful review, the two families realized that they were simply being asked to fulfill the conditions they had agreed to, and there were no hidden traps as they had imagined.
So they proceeded to sign the document.
Kaia retracted the agreement and lightly raised her eyebrows.
She was very satisfied.
From then on, she would no longer have to endure harassment from the two families.
Just as she was thinking this, she caught a glimpse of a figure outside the cafe.
"In that case, we won't recognize each other if we meet in the future." After Kaia said this to Lincoln and the others, she got up and walked outside.
Lincoln watched as Kaia left the cafe and saw her walking towards that "gigolo."
"Does she think that because she's a miracle doctor, we'll regret it? A person like her who doesn't cherish herself, has no sense of shame, and doesn't respect her elders will be punished sooner or later."
Saying this, Lincoln glanced at the agreement in his hand, "It's good that we signed it, so we don't have to have any further involvement with this girl."
A look of relief also appeared on Ruth's face.
Tobias looked at Kaia walking over, a gentle smile on his face. "Shall we go out to eat?"
"Sure," Kaia said.
Then the two got into the car together.
Tobias noticed the agreement in Kaia's hand and asked with confusion, "What is that?"
"An agreement to completely sever ties with the Bennett family." Kaia's tone was calm, without any undulation, as if she was talking about something that had nothing to do with her.
Tobias frowned with heartache and was silent for a while, "Fate has always been fair. Although you didn't end up with good parents, you ended up with an unparalleled good husband."
Kaia watched Tobias hold back for a long time, thinking he was going to say something to comfort her, but she didn't expect it to be this.
"The Wolfe family is holding a party next weekend. I've invited Dr. Dean to go with us. You've missed it twice, so this is a good opportunity for me to introduce you to Dr. Dean." Tobias remembered and said.
"You invited Dr. Dean to the party? How come I don't know about this?" Kaia asked.
Kaia didn't remember Tobias sending her a message about this. 'Could it be that I didn't notice the message when I was busy at the institute?' she thought.
While she was thinking, Kaia noticed Tobias was looking at her with a questioning look. She belatedly realized that what she had just said had exposed her.
"I didn't hear you mention it before," Kaia calmly added.
Tobias slightly moved his thin lips, his eyes fixed on Kaia.
"I haven't invited him yet. I plan to contact Dr. Dean when I get back."
"Oh, I see."
She thought to herself that even if she was too busy at the institute to see the message, she would still see the reminder afterward.
"Don't forget to go with me then," Tobias reminded her.
Kaia slightly moved her lips. She had been thinking of finding another excuse, but if she always made excuses, it might not be appropriate.
"Okay."
In the blink of an eye, it was Friday.
