Hailey stood there dumbfounded, watching Kaia and Carson acting like close buddies. She quietly pinched her thigh.
"Ouch, it hurts. So, it isn't a dream,' she thought.
Carson immediately ran over when he heard Hailey shout in pain.
"Hailey, what's wrong? Why are you in pain for no reason? Where does it hurt? Let me see," he asked.
Hailey twitched her lips speechlessly at the enthusiastic Carson. "No, nothing hurts."
"How could that be? I clearly heard you shout in pain just now. Are you just embarrassed? Come on. Tell me quickly, where does it hurt? Let me check." Carson's anxious gaze scanned Hailey up and down.
Hailey rolled her eyes, then pointed to the thigh under her butt and said to Carson, "It hurts here. Do you want to check it for me?"
In an instant, Carson's face turned red.
"You... you... If... If you want, I... I don't mind helping you... check. Anyway, we're going to be husband and wife in the future, so there's no need to be embarrassed," he stammered.
Hailey thought, 'I can't be bothered to talk to him.'
Kaia went up to Tobias and asked in a low voice that only the two of them could hear, "Dr. Dean, Carson should have gone to you just now, right?"
"Yup," she said, nodding once.
"Then why is he treating you like this? Logically speaking, shouldn't rivals be jealous of each other?"
Kaia rolled her eyes at Hailey, "So you knew about it too, and you're still using me as a shield?"
Hailey smiled sheepishly, "Well, Carson's character is still very good. Even if he treats you as a rival, he won't do anything excessive to you.
"Gosh, I'm so curious. Why do you two seem to have a good relationship? And I just heard him say that he wanted to let you live in the villa at Pioneer Retreat?"
"Pioneer Retreat is now developed as well as the Ravenwood Hall, and the Ravenwood Hall is the number one villa district in Morganburg. So it can be said that Pioneer Retreat is prime real estate, every inch worth its weight in gold.
"I also heard that every villa in Pioneer Retreat was personally arranged by Mr. Webb, so top tycoons from Morganburg and even Wustriland have come here to snatch up villas. I'm telling you, even my family can't get one.
"He can let you live in Pioneer Retreat, why? This matter is a big deal. Can his family agree to it?"
Hailey blinked her big eyes and looked at Kaia.
"Probably because I can cure his family's inherited dark skin," Kaia replied calmly.
This answer surprised Hailey. "As expected of you, Dr. Dean. You're amazing!"
Kaia smiled without saying anything. Carson walked over, his eyes scanning back and forth between Kaia and Hailey.
Although he didn't know that Kaia was not interested, he still felt a little uncomfortable seeing Hailey staring at Kaia with a dazed expression.
"Hailey, come here. I have something to tell you," Carson said.
"Oh! What is it? Can't you say it here?" Hailey didn't want to take her eyes off Kaia for a moment.
Carson quietly gave Kaia a look of helplessness. Kaia smiled helplessly.
"Hailey, you guys chat. I'm going to take a walk over there." After Kaia finished speaking, she didn't give Hailey a chance to keep her, and walked straight towards the edge of the swimming pool.
Kaia originally intended to get rid of Hailey. She thought she'd dodged a bullet, only to step right into a minefield.
