"You took everything from me, my identity, my family, what else are you not satisfied with? I've been driven out by you. Why are you still not satisfied? What exactly do you want to make you happy? Do you want me to die?!"
Claire roared indignantly, tears streaming down her face, her empty eyes full of despair.
"Don't worry. I won't kill you. If I really did, I'd have to pay for your life. Your worthless life isn't worth that to me. I just need you to be obedient and marry Bruno."
"Dream on! I would rather die than marry an old geezer! I will never be a tool for your and your mother's interests! Kill me if you have the guts! Kill me!" Claire shouted.
"Want to die? It's not that easy!" With that, Presley cracked her whip.
Claire trembled in pain, convulsing and rolling on the ground.
"Still stubborn, huh? I'm telling you, I'll stop whipping you when you agree." Presley raised her chin high.
Claire endured the pain and looked up at Presley, scoffing, "Come on. I'm not afraid of you!"
"Still stubborn! Good!" As Presley spoke, she lashed out with another whip.
With a loud sound, the door was kicked open from the outside.
"Who is it?" Presley turned her head sharply to look.
Claire looked at Kaia, who appeared at the door, her eyes full of disbelief. "Ka... Kaia?"
"Kaia?" Presley found the name familiar, searched her memory for a few seconds, and remembered.
"So you're the good-for-nothing heiress of the Bennett family, Kaia, who was kicked out of the Bennett family? You and Claire are truly linked by fate, birds of a feather flock together!"
Kaia went straight past Presley, who was laughing gleefully, walked up to Claire, and untied her.
"Kaia, why are you here?" Claire was very worried that she would implicate Kaia.
Kaia said, "You're my good friend, how could I not come?"
"But this is the Smith family. Presley is cruel and merciless. You should leave quickly!"
Presley stepped forward, blocking their path. "Wanting to leave now? I'm afraid it's too late."
"Presley! Kaia is just an outsider. Are you really going to keep her here?" Claire was anxious.
The thing she was worried about still happened.
"Then she can blame herself for being nosy and barging into this dangerous place. She saw me hitting you just now. If she runs out and calls the police, I'll be in deep trouble. Do you think I'm stupid? Would I let her leave?"
Kaia looked at Presley with cold eyes. "Since you know what you're doing is illegal and violates the rules, you still dare to do it?"
"Kaia, take a look at your current situation. Instead of kneeling down and begging for mercy, you're acting like a big shot here. Plus, you ignored me just now, so you're definitely getting whipped today!" Presley said.
With that, Presley raised her whip and lashed it at Kaia's beautiful face.
"Kaia, be careful!" Claire shouted anxiously. She really wanted to rush over and block it for Kaia, but she was so exhausted that she didn't have any strength left.
Kaia stood there motionless, and anyone who saw this thought she was scared silly.
However, just as the whip was about to strike, Kaia, who had been standing still, suddenly reached out and grabbed the whip in her hand.
Presley's pupils dilated. "Let go!"
Kaia yanked hard, and the whip slipped from Presley's hand.
Because Kaia used too much force, Presley lost her balance and leaned forward, falling to the ground face-first.
Claire roared indignantly, tears streaming down her face, her empty eyes full of despair.
