In Daisy's eyes, young people loved to waste money hiring fake partners to fool their parents.
Griffin strolled over, stifling a laugh. "She hired him? Do you even know who he is? Someone like him isn't the kind of person you can hire with money."
Gloria shot up from her seat. "Griffin, when did you get here?"
Griffin was nothing like Tobias. He was always showing off his Moreno family status wherever he went. And since he was a regular at this café, Gloria knew him well.
"Of course, I came when you were all setting up a blind date for my sister-in-law," Griffin said, shooting a look at Kaia on purpose.
Gloria was utterly shocked, realizing the guy sitting next to Kaia might be the CEO of Moreno Group.
Daisy looked totally lost, pointing at Griffin. "Gloria, who is he?"
"He is Mr. Jameson Moreno's son," Gloria stammered, still trying to catch her breath.
Daisy stared at Griffin, completely dazed, until a sudden realization hit her. Her gaze snapped over to Kaia and Tobias. For a long moment, she just sat there, frozen, before finally stuttering, "Kaia, h-he... Is he the head of the Moreno family?"
At this point, there was really no reason to keep up the act any longer.
Kaia gave a small nod. "Yeah, he's the one."
Daisy gasped, stumbling back into her seat. She pinched herself just to make sure she wasn't dreaming.
'Oh my god! I can't believe she is actually engaged to the richest man in all of Morganburg. It's like a nobody suddenly turning into royalty,' Daisy thought, her mind whirling.
She decided once she got back to the village, she had to find a way to stay on this family's good side.
Tobias turned to Kaia, his gaze soft and gentle. "Let's head out."
"Okay," Kaia answered and stood as well.
Just then, Sullivan suddenly called out, "Wait a second."
Kaia looked back at him, puzzled. "What is it?"
"I... I just..." Sullivan stammered, trying to find the courage. He had never met a girl as beautiful as Kaia, with such grace and presence. He knew that if he let her go today, he'd regret it for the rest of his life.
He clenched his teeth, ready to pour out his heart. "I like yo..."
But before the words could leave his mouth, Tobias's icy gaze sliced through the air like a blade.
"I like... I like... I would like to wish you two happiness." When he finished, Sullivan burst into tears.
'Mom, it's not my fault that I chicken out! That man is just too terrifying!' Sullivan thought.
Every instinct in his body screamed that if he dared confess in front of that man, he would be toasted.

In the car, Griffin nearly choked from laughing. "I swear, that guy was about to confess! He was going to say 'I like you!' Oh my god, that was priceless!"
Tobias really was something. One look, and the love rival immediately folded.
Tobias couldn't care less about anyone else right now. His whole world was just Kaia.
He watched her side profile, but for once didn't know what to say. He was afraid that if he spoke, she'd tell him to shut up again.
Tobias kept his lips sealed, and Kaia was just as quiet. The silence between them grew heavier by the second, filling the car with thick tension.
Driving in the front seat, Griffin regretted ever volunteering as the driver. The atmosphere was so stifling he felt like he might suffocate.
After a minute, Kaia finally turned her head and glanced at Tobias. "Has the bump on your head gone down?"
The ice broke, and she'd started the conversation first. Tobias's heart soared.
"It's still there, I think," Tobias mumbled.
"Let me see," Kaia said.
