Tobias replied, "Then we'll re-engage."
Kaia raised an eyebrow, her eyes flashing with a playful hint of laughter as she poked Tobias in the chest. "That all depends on how you perform." She smiled and turned to leave.
Tobias's eyes widened, fixed on Kaia as she walked away. Right then, it felt like his heart had been swept away after her.
A few seconds later, he hurried up behind her, looped his arms around her waist. He tucked his chin into the hollow of her neck, emotion surging out of him.
All he wanted was to pull this girl he loved completely into his world, to make her his.
Kaia could feel Tobias's chest pressed tightly against her back, his heartbeat pounding with intensity, each beat echoing the overwhelming affection he had for her.
She smiled and couldn't help but feel a warm happiness bubbling up inside.
She said, "Let's go pick some vegetables from your garden. Tonight I'll cook you something good."
"Thanks, my Kaia," Tobias grinned, beaming at her.
"You're such a sap," Kaia shot back.
Meanwhile, a man lurking in the shadows pulled out his phone. "Mr. Smith, Kaia's at the hospital right now, but she's got someone with her. Not a good time to make a move."
Finley's brows furrowed deeply. "It's not Joel, is it?"
"No, it's some pretty boy. Looks like her boyfriend," the man replied.
"Good." Finley let out a relieved breath, his eyes cold. "Keep following her. When the timing's right, get rid of her."
About ten minutes later, the man called Finley again. "The guy's still with her. They're heading out toward the edge of town. There's almost nobody around. Feels like the perfect spot to take action."
"Send me their location," Finley ordered.
"I've just sent it over," the man replied.
Finley opened up the location on his phone. As he glanced at the map and spotted a villa nearby, he felt something was off.
He asked, "Why are they heading here? This is the Moreno family's territory. Their villa is nearby."
The man guessed, "Maybe they're looking for some secluded spot to throw down?"
Finley's lips quirked with sarcasm. "You sound like you've done this before."
The man cleared his throat awkwardly. "Mr. Smith, should we make a move? My guys are tailing them in the cars behind, but we kept our distance so we wouldn't get spotted. If you want us to act now, I'll have them speed up and close the gap."
Finley thought for a second before answering, "Do it right here. This is the Moreno family territory. Hardly anyone comes around, so no one's gonna notice. Get it done fast and don't let anyone see a thing."
He added, "And don't finish her off just yet. Kaia's been acting arrogant at our place. Killing her straight away would be letting her off way too easily."
"Should I have all the guys go at her? Make her wish she were dead?" the man asked, licking his lips with a filthy gleam in his eyes.
"Fine, but don't let the Moreno family catch wind of it," Finley ordered.
"Relax, this isn't our first rodeo. We'll gag her good. She won't make a single peep," the man replied with a sinister grin.
"And that guy..." Finley's voice hardened. "Disable his limbs in front of her. Make her endure both physical and mental torment."
"Sure thing. Leave it to us," the man answered.
